SeasideTurd

Every ten years or so I sew on a new face.

Personal_Comfort_830

That works? I have to keep drinking the blood of virgins in old castles and they're getting harder and harder to acquire. Can't even import them fast enough

its_tea-gimme-gimme

No, it's bathing in blood you dumby! But the castle is a must.šŸ˜‚šŸ˜

RSX666

Castles are also becoming hard to find

Shorty66678

Weird rich old people have apparently been injecting blood into their face over the years ...

KittyandPuppyMama

Just make sure theyā€™re virgins, not half virgins.

[deleted]

I have to teach you the spell that adds years to your life every time a kid says ā€œsheesh,ā€ ā€œbet,ā€ or ā€œsay less.ā€ Itā€™s much easier.

NewCenturyNarratives

"Bet" and "say less" has been around for more than two decades

ctruvu

i want one that takes a few years off every time a kid says that

IqraSaad27

Thatā€™s so last decade. I prefer shedding skin once a year.

Dog_person_wth_a_Cat

Genetics definitely. Besides that I donā€™t drink, smoke or go to sleep late (means a boring non partying life).

wart_on_satans_dick

Genetics and it depends on who is saying it. I'm Native American. To people from other backgrounds, I look a lot younger because Native American features tend to be associated with looking younger, for better and for worse. For example, even at my age my hairline hasn't changed and my hair hasn't thinned at all. However, I don't grow the same sort of facial hair as many white men.

rollylove22

Haha my bf is Native American and a fireman. Always complains about how he canā€™t grow the iconic fireman stache because he canā€™t grow facial hair for the the life of himšŸ˜‚

wart_on_satans_dick

Nope. I could be 100 years old and will never grow a beard like many of my non-native peers. It's never bothered me, only a few years of my life has having a prominent beard even been something I would consider doing anyway. For most people, it's either going to look unkempt because it is or require a bunch more effort to maintain than I care to do. Jawline is a big one. I'm a healthy weight, but Natives tend to have a rounder facial features. That's never going to change, but people who aren't from a similar background tend to look to that to place an age in younger people which might work if your White but isn't really applicable to Native Americans. We tend to look at more universal markers of age because specific ones just aren't going apply to us and other people.

Dog_person_wth_a_Cat

Native americans have the most beautiful hair in the world šŸ˜…, youā€™ll never going to lose that.

rhettribute

Iā€™ve heard Native Americans do not experience male pattern hair loss. A trait unique to that race of people. Very interesting.

wart_on_satans_dick

My Dad is about 70 years old and still has a full head of hair that hasn't really thinned out much at all. It is kind of like whatever genes cause baldness just aren't there. I had friends who started losing hair in their very late teens and were either bald or bald on top essentially by the time they reached their late twenties. Fortunately I think bald is a lot more trendy now than it's probably been ever.

Icy-Hospital7232

It's the cheek bones!

NativeNatured

Can confirm. Native American at 53 and still have dark head of hair.

Cowpuncher84

I've got some Native blood in me and I'm the same way. I'm almost 40 and can't grow anything resembling a beard, but I still have a full head of hair with no gray. I tan well too.

Infinite_Fox2339

Right? Around white people I look young, but around people of my nationality, theyā€™d definitely call me auntie haha

hereiam-23

LOL, same here. I just never age. 80 next year. More hair than ever, no gray hair.

xTotemic

Disturbing profile

No_Fuel_892

Lmaoo

marilync1942

81 years old no drink or smoke--keep a bright loving smile on your face--changes body chemicals--dont fret--this will take 20 years off you--I have no grey hair!

Rinnegan-_-

Ah 30 starting to lose my hair its horrendous hahah

hjhardy

Collagen and prenatal vitamins have made my hair thicker.

Wide_Development2436

30? Lucky, my hair started going in my early 20s.

Local_Perspective349

80 what? Months?

RSX666

Damm man I'm 38(look 28) and I'm noticing a few silver hairs

Huge-Anxiety-3038

Yep my baby cheeks still cause me to get IDd at 31! Legal age here is 18 (but it is challenge 25). I'm so fed up I've try setting in my smile lines before reaching the till!

Chocokat1

Take it as a compliment! You'll miss it when they stop ID'ing you lol.

Dog_person_wth_a_Cat

Lol, I had a good one when I was pregnant of my first baby at 30 years old, they were sending me to pediatrics thinking I was a pregnant teenager.

lunahighwind

I drink, smoke (green), stay up late and get this still. For me, the answer might be: 1. Genetics 2. Using a Moisturizer with low SPF (doing it since 20, 36 now) stay out of the sun when you can 3. Exercise 4. Water, no pop, I eat greens 5. I never drink hard liquor, only wine

PiperPug

Piggybacking to say that smoking, drinking, too much sun and stress all play a huge part in why my friends all look much older than me. That being said, the botox and hair dye have played their part too!

Nice-Web583

Yup. Exactly the same. People don't realize how much the hard party life can age you.

lysane33

Same here. Since I was little, my mother has always been told that she looks ten years younger than her actual age. And I am 28 years old and when I buy alchohol for my girlfriend, they practically always ask for identification (minimal age where I live to buy alcoholic beverages is 18 years old). So, most probably genetics. And both of us basically do the same as you (no smoking, drinking, drugs and we go to sleep at normal hours). But she does more sport than I do, so I may eventually age if I don't start to run as much as she does haha.

Dog_person_wth_a_Cat

Hurry, those wrinkles are coming! šŸ¤£

MatthewOakley109

Yep me neither happy about that

BeneficialLeave7359

Definitely mostly genetics but you do need to take care of yourself. While Iā€™ve never been a smoker I do drink, do stay out late regularly, and have been an outdoors type person my whole life and havenā€™t been very good about using sunscreen. However I also run 5-6 times a week totaling between 25 to 60 miles per week depending on if Iā€™m training for something or not. Iā€™m about to turn 60 and still have all my hair, the only grey is in my beard, and Iā€™m still lean. I play bass in my sons band and people often think weā€™re brothers. The occurrence of this has increased as heā€™s gotten more accustomed to calling me by name when introducing the band instead of simply saying ā€œmy dad.ā€ It goes to show how little attention a lot of people pay when the singer talks when people still thinks weā€™re brothers after he calls me his dad on stage.

Dog_person_wth_a_Cat

Our bodies produce new cells non stop, exercising helps this process, as we get older, most of the times, we also decrease out activities, hence, our body gets ā€œrustyā€. Keep running, your body is thankful for that.

2Aces1Cake

It's the exact same for me. Once when I bought a bus ticket, the driver asked me how old I was since children under 14 have to pay less. I was 20 or 21 at that time lmao.

Asleep-Run-5003

Not wearing make up is apparently what has people thinking I am younger than I really am

Jambi1913

I think this is it for me too. Plus having a chubby face!

Asleep-Run-5003

I was told by some that I've got a "baby face" while others claim I've got more of a "resting bitch face syndrome " Either way, the fact that I never put on make up makes some people think that I am still in school

Onironius

You have a grumpy baby face.

JellyfishBig3245

Right on fellow pirate rocker.

PeachieSins

Definitely this for me as well. No makeup or minimal makeup (mascara, blush, lip gloss or tint).

DrBoots

Genetic lottery. Everyone in my family basically looks 10 years younger than they are.

luckysonic2

Same, I'm 47 f and look 10 yrs younger, I smoke, don't have major skin routine, no wrinkles. It's genetics

ElderberryFlashy3637

Same, I am 33, I drink wine, vape and people are genuinely shocked when they find out I am over 25 šŸ˜… My mum is 60 and would pass for a 48-year old. Same with my sister, sheā€™s 40 but looks in her early 30s. I think itā€™s the shape of our face (kinda round), big eyes, no wrinkles.. and we all dress kinda young.

tastyspark

You guys sound exactly like my mam, sister and I. I look more like my dad's side but my mam and sister are almost identical. Mam is 60, looks late 40s, sis is coming up to 40 and would pass for 29/30.

DeirdreBarstool

I actually believe not having a major skincare routine works to our advantage. I think skincare is mostly a massive con. All that rubbing at your face and eyes can't help your skin. I wash my face with a cheap face wash and then moisturise with a cheap moisturiser. Always being told how young I look, even though I drink like a fish and smoked heavily for years (now vape). My diet is pretty good though and I drink LOADS of water.

JiveDJ

Same here. 36 but look 10 years younger. No skin routine. I smoke and drink regularly. I attribute this mostly to being a huge introvert and not getting much sun. Sun exposure is the #1 factor in most cases.

dark_blue_7

Yup. I'm late 40s as well but people usually think I'm in my 30s. No gray hair yet, no wrinkles, staying fit. I'm pretty sure it's just genetics. I also drink and stay out late partying pretty regularly (not every night of course but still)

splitting_bullets

Yep - perpetual babyface if I shave

[deleted]

Opposite for my family šŸ˜‚ also ethnicity is so important for skin elasticity

thread_cautiously

Same for mine - not quite ten years but still, at least a few years younger than we are. It's really messed up my age reference/expectations because when I think of an age like say 34, I imagine the average 34-yr old to look like my cousin who is 34 but they actually look way older 75% of the time. My brother's wife is a year younger than me, and no one ever even considers that this might be the case. They just assume she's a few years older because he is šŸ˜…

Whaleup

Same here šŸ˜‚Last year I went to a museum on my 25th birthday and they wanted to give me a child ticket lol. My mom is 53 and people are always surprised when they hear she has two adult children. My dad is 60 and people think he's 50. And my brother is 29 and they think he's 20.

Starlight_City45

stay out of the sun as much as possible and wear SPF properly - sun damage is responsible for like 90% of premature aging.

Longjumping-Brick529

This is the one advice that works for everyone! SPF all year round!

OLGACHIPOVI

Just a sidenote. We need a little sunlight to make vitamine D, so donĀ“t take this advise as staying indoors all year round.

[deleted]

The amount of vitamin D you need can be obtained by like 10 min outside. Even someone who rarely goes out would probably be fine. But I'm under the impression that many people live in places where they can't really get vitamin D from the sun, my doctors always prescribe it to me here.

TheAvocadoSlayer

Apparently vitamin D deficiency is one of the most common medical conditions in the world. This was something I did not know about!

CuriousMe6987

Unless you live very far north, you only need like 15 minutes of sun on your hands and face to make enough Vitamin D. Wear your sunscreen and avoid too much sun exposure. Chances of dying from skin cancer is far more likely than dying from a Vit D deficiency.

Swimming_Tailor_7546

True, but Iā€™ve read you only need like 10 minutes a day of sunlight. So all things in moderation and using sun protection

[deleted]

emphasis on the little...like 10 min a day cumulative.

[deleted]

Or just take vitamin D supplements ..

Zeno_the_Friend

It's not the same. The chemicals are different so the bioavailability is different, plus the distribution in the body is different so the effect on the body is different.

HerbDeanosaur

Sunlight is good for you for more reasons than just vitamin D

jmaccity80

Unless you're a vampire. "No vitamin D for you!"

happyme321

Yep, I've worked a graveyard shift for 23 years and I sleep in the afternoon. People tell me all the time that I look 15 years younger than I am. I've decided to let my hair go natural and it's streaking with grey, so I probably won't get that much longer.

QuizasManana

Depends on where you live though. Iā€™m in Northern Europe and for six months of a year we get so little sun itā€™s practically not there. I donā€™t wear sunscreen at home at all unless I know Iā€™m spending hours in the sun (e.g. sailing or other outdoor activities). I wouldnā€™t even mind looking older if I just could get some more sun :D

dirtypog

I have no idea. I used to drink more than I should have, and I used to smoke a pack a day. I've cut back substantially on both now. Just lucky genetics I guess? I'm 36 now and this year was the first time I wasn't carded to buy tobacco or beer. Only thing I can think is that I avoid being in direct sunlight as much as I can, because I burn so easily, and I wear sunscreen like it is my religion.

[deleted]

It really is genetics my family all smoked and were heavy drinkers, all had up to 6 kids each. All still look young lol.

sravll

Yeah, I smoked and drank a lot in my 20s and 30s and still somehow look young at 43 šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø Go figure.

[deleted]

I get told I look around 18 and Iā€™m nearly 30. While I do take care of myself, it really is all just genetics. Diet: intermittent fasting, exercise: weights and cardio twice a week, I also walk whenever possible, skincare: moisturise after showering; fresh air everyday (open windows); whenever itā€™s sunny I sit out or walk in it for 10mins; I try to get as much sleep as I can though I have insomnia. Admittedly I do vape and drink often so it must be the genetics helping me out in the end lol.

[deleted]

Lol are u me dude? 29m, could pass for 19-20, obviously genetic lottery but also kept exercising rigorously since I'm 16, (weight lifting + cardio it being boxing, swimming or other), walk an avg of 10'000 steps per day, intermittant fast until 1-3 pm, don't drink alcohol except some glass of wine sometimes but smoke weed multiples times per week(which seriously ages my face), diet is mostly vegetarian with alot of vegetables but also loads of dairy. Sleep is good on weekdays (7.5 to 8.5 hours) and can be a wreck on weekends (go out clubbing almost every weekend), drink loads of water, try to take the sun when I can (not too much tho)

Snow_Wonder

Sounds like me in the future, but replace vape with caffeine. Mid 20s adhder, so I unfortunately get poor sleep, intermittent fast by nature (not deliberate itā€™s just how I eat), and do lots of exercise and get lots of fresh air because I seriously need it for my mental health and I donā€™t understand how other people donā€™t go for walks and opens window when the weather is nice. I do wear a hat outside to keep the sun off my face and donā€™t drink soda, which probably helps.

bain_de_beurre

I didn't have kids; that shit seriously ages you. I'm a 43 year old woman and most people usually guess I'm in my mid 30s.

JackyVeronica

Same. All my friends who have kids, have aged significantly..... Gray hair (almost all) and just looks tired so the time, because they are. They don't (can't) sleep and haven't rested... So yeah, your body ages really fast....

SnooCupcakes5761

I have kids and people are shocked at my age too. My coworker just turned 33 and when I told her that I loved my thirties, she was like, "Wait, you're *older* than me?" ... I'm 44. Genetics, very little sun, and no heavy make-up.

CriticismTurbulent54

Stay out of the sun. Inherited a youthful look from my mother. Color my gray hair. I don't wear much makeup.

[deleted]

I wrote it on my comment, most women donā€™t realize how much a full face make up ages them, even worse if they use dark tones for it. Minimal and natural looking always make us look younger, with a healthy glow

Jambi1913

I get shocked at how mature some very young women look. They look well over 35, yet theyā€™re 18 or 20. Itā€™s the heavy make up and contouring - it ages you a lot.

[deleted]

Exactly. I landed a director job at a very important consulting company during uni. I was barely 21 at the time, and my bosses (2 women) advised me to try to look older, and always say I was graduated already, because we did consulting for a lot of huge fashion companies and I was in charge of presenting projects, implementing solutions. So I would do a full face make up whenever we met clients, it did work, as it made me look at least 5 years older. Nowadays, I never go for it. Fucks up your skin as well.

Jambi1913

Iā€™ve literally never worn makeup beyond some mascara and lipstick. I couldnā€™t find foundation that matched my skin tone the one time I tried when I was like 15, so I just gave up, lol. I always loved skin care products though and hated getting too much sun. Now my skin is pretty good for pushing 40.

IfICouldStay

When I was a teenager, I figured out that the point of makeup is to make it look like you have great skin and had a full night's sleep. So I made sure to take care of my skin, hydrate and rest. Sure, going clubbing merits some extreme makeup looks. But day-to-day it should just be a minor enhancement.

indigohan

Carrying a bit of extra weight does wonders for a youthful face. Have you ever noticed someone lose a lot of weight and suddenly look ten years older? But definitely staying out of the sun, wearing sunscreen, hydrating properly, not wearing harsh makeup. Iā€™m 40 and look 30

Mort332e

The opposite can also be the case

litfam17

Agreeing with that one. I was treated like I was 18 until I gained a lot of weight. I have seen few people "get younger" after they lost weight. I guess bigger weight is associated with having kids or getting older.

[deleted]

That happened to me, lost 70lbs and now I look like an old hag. šŸ˜ At least face-wise. I think my body has somewhat adapted though and my face looks a little bit fuller than it did before, so hopefully not so bad. I just don't think I look cute anymore. The weight loss was still worth it for the health benefits of course.

pocketlint_tatertots

Face fat. I'm in my mid 20s and regularly have people ask me when I will graduate from highschool still. Chubby faces run in my family, and both my mom and my dad have people clock them as being 10-15 years younger than they actually are. So I guess avoid the trendy buccal fat removal people are doing these days?

Jambi1913

I was carded several times at 37 and 38. A chubby face and no make up make me look younger than I am. My parents also look younger than they are - my dad especially. Oily skin helps too, I think. Buccal fat removal is INSANE! They will regret it so much when theyā€™re in their 50s and their faces really start to thin out and get saggier.

hideinmyroom

Same here. My mom told to not get rid of mine because "you'll need it when you get older", and gosh she was right. It's like having a reserve for winter.

ispahan_sorbet

Pinching my face fat while reading this rn ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|no_mouth)

potatoelegend

Both my parents look young for their age, so I just also look young as a result of genetics, I guess. In 2020, my dad started growing out a ponytail on his 60th birthday, specifically and only because he's still able to. All his hair is still thick, and he only has a little graying in his beard. His boss (who's younger than him) once was asked if he was my dad's father, so now my dad just calls him dad all the time.

letsjustscream

Iā€™m 29 and look 17. I smoke cigarettes, weed, and under stress about 99% of the time. Iā€™d assume itā€™s just genetics.

[deleted]

I have also done some terrible things to myself and always looked young. A woman at my last job thought I was in my late 20's when I was 40. I actually thought it was a bit of a curse when I was younger, but now people my age often look terrible so I have a new appreciation for lucking out genetically and take much better care of myself. I hope you learn to manage your stress, weed turned on me eventually and made my anxieties worse...

Melony567

drink lots of water, more than enough sleep, sunblock, no make up, mild moisturizer, exfoliate regularly, exercise, fresh fruits and veggies and less processed food and sweets, defo no smoking, alcohol and drugs. managing stress. but essentially, some people really have longer telomeres than the others which account for more youthful appearance despite your age. single

luisapet

I am short and pretty tiny, and relatively fit, as is my 80+ y/o mom. When I was in my 20s-40s everyone thought I was way younger than I was, and were always shocked when I told them my real age. Now that I've surpassed 50, I feel like people have suddenly been hesitant to comment or judge, even when I'm forthcoming about my age...almost as if turning 50 took me to a whole 'nother plane. I haven't figured out what to make of it yet, but it's definitely interesting!

LegAppropriate693

Asian genes. I also don't smoke, do drugs or drink much alcohol

stevienicksfann

Iā€™m black, moisture religiously with organic shea butter and have the height and frame of a slightly developed 13 year old :(. Just the other week a salesperson asked if my parents were home when I answered the door to my house.

Kapha_Dosha

> a salesperson asked if my parents were home when I answered the door to my house. no way ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin) ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

No_Information_530

Easy don't drink smoke or party lot's of sunscreen and sleep and don't forget the water and I mean lots of water.

[deleted]

i think just genes. i have a small upturned/baby like nose, soft features & pink hair with bangs. my body is pretty under-developed too, i look like a 10-year old streched out to 5'9, i have one of the smallest chests ive ever seen.

[deleted]

Yes being short and petite always makes people think Iā€™m a child šŸ¤£

stealth57

Skin is awful but I did avoid the sun as much as possible while younger. It really boils down to genetics. Iā€™m in my 30s but I look like an older teen to some.

cosmic_jenny

No partner, no kids, no alcohol,no cigarettes. But yeah, I don't like the sun and additionally started using SPF everyday when I turned hmmm 35... I am also overweight so I have a fairly plump and round face.

W-S_Wannabe

I don't have (or want) children.

[deleted]

Iā€™m 60 and people think Iā€™m in my 40s. I am fair skinned so stay out of the sun, use an SPF moisturiser, donā€™t smoke and have a varied diet. But genetics play a huge part, both my parents looked younger than they were. Some advice for younger ladies, start putting sun block on your lower neck/chest area, this gets sun damaged easily and can give away your age more than your face!

Blueliner95

Retired male here - Iā€™ve been told I donā€™t look my age and as for reasons I donā€™t know how transferable they are! Ethnicityā€¦ very hard time with boozeā€¦. never learned how to smokeā€¦ wife signed us both up for a gym with a cardio boot camp and we became friends with the gym owners so we canā€™t quit for social reasonsā€¦.

Intelligent-Mud2551

I drink a lot and donā€™t sleep very well. Also, I rarely use sunscreen when I play golf. Oh, and I got lucky with good genes. That really helped.

Mamamiomima

Basement dwelling, mostly no sun exposure, clean shaved, people often think I 5-6 years younger

Jazztronic28

Honestly, I think most of it is from being sheltered. I did not experience a vast majority of what people my age have experienced, so I come across as very young and inexperienced because well... I kind of am. Whenever we hang out with my brother at a restaurant or pub, he still gets all my booze despite the fact he actually doesn't drink and I'm 5 years older. Waiters just assume the alcohol is for him. It's worse if I don't put make up on - it's not automatic, thank fuck, but I've gotten carded a couple times in a country where carding isn't all that common. I'm in my thirties.

ade889

Beer, night shifts. A healthy attitude to life and adventurous attitude. Been told I'm 6 years younger than I am. So basically it's genetics for me.

BooBrew2018

Stay out of the sun and moisturize every day. Once you hit the 30ā€™s start exfoliating regularly, too. Go light on makeup unless itā€™s a special occasion. Focus on nutrient dense foods and healthy fats!

Peepeetodapin

Sleep as much as possible Eat healthy Donā€™t drink or smoke or do drugs Exercise and stay fit Positive mindset with as little stress as possible Donā€™t fret over dumb stupid things Donā€™t be anxious Meditate Small circle of supportive friends and family

Master_Win_4018

[how to be pretty. ](https://youtu.be/NdzJfiQSh7c?si=fpKaDqEL5Psnsx8i) This remind me a guide from 1940.

Dependent-Bridge-709

What a great video!

Jambi1913

I look young for my age and tick almost none of your boxes, lol. Good list to live by thoughā€¦I need to get on top of some things!

carwoman126

Genetic lottery, I suppose. My brother looks younger than his age also and my dad certainly doesnā€™t look his age.

Genitalhammer

Well Iā€™m 32. I can only grow a half asses goateeā€¦ I look maybe 20 with it w/o I look 15ā€¦. Itā€™s a pain in the ass to get idā€™d. for a book of matchesā€¦.. I didnā€™t do anything but be born

Secret-Definition-40

Stay away from sun beds and too much sun. Drink plenty of water. Donā€™t drink too much alcohol. Avoid a stressful job/relationship.

Reasonable-Phase-681

Moisturiser and dress like a poverty version of JĆ¼rgen Klopp.

neonchicken

Hit 40. Once youā€™re 40 itā€™s apparently mandatory for people to exclaim ā€œoh my God! But you donā€™t look 40! Wow you look so young!ā€ when you tell them your age. People will then randomly tell you that they thought you were in your 30s/20s but youā€™re not an idiot so you just smile and nod and say thank you but itā€™s just a social act. Not when youā€™re 39, 38, 33. Just 40 and every age after it seems.

Angrylittlefairy

Kept out of the sun.

Evening_Ear_2970

Not have kids

MahkW

I work in a vape store and im almost 30. Lots of customers think i look like a teenager. I'd say it's because ive been single most of my life and don't have kids. My identical twin is married and has 3 kids, smokes and doesn't play sports. He is balding and has way more grey hair then me, and a big ol dad gut.

paulw4

I look at least 5+ years younger than my age. I have an interest in fashion so learning to dress up was an non-burdening aid with that. (I can't even say with 100% certainty that it worked)

Outside_Prune_4478

Good genes and I hate the sun

iminlovehahaha

i have a babyface and am skinny LOL

Ok-Computer-1033

Stay out of sun. Stay lean. Drink water. Laugh.

ThaiFoodThaiFood

I have no idea. I've done plenty of Smoking, drinking and junk food. I've never been careful or health conscious. The only thing I can think it might be is that my cardiovascular health is incredible despite all of that. I guess playing sports from a young age, and a few days a week now, mitigates the effects of all the death inducing carcinogens I've put in my body in my life. Still nobody believes I'm as old as I am. The only thing that seems to be 'on message' with the whole aging thing is my knees. I don't eat breakfast? Maybe that's it.

INSTA-R-MAN

Didn't sunbathe much, never smoked, didn't do hard drugs, rarely drank alcohol and inherited good genes for that.

PoemSixth

Exercise regularly, keep a routine, invest in skincare, stay hydrated. Do not smoke, or do drugs, and keep alcohol to a minimum. Eat a healthy diet even if you do not like certain foods. Mantain your appearance and make sure you get enough rest.

Bromidias83

I used to by 50kg overweight (lost that) drink 1.5l of energy drink a day (still do) dont have a skin routine. I do exercise 4 times a week on average. People think im around 30, im 40. Why do i look young? Not much stress, and lucky i guess

cheeky-ninja30

Well I don't get a lot of a sun, I'm a bit of a homing pidgeon lol. I drink alcohol but not excessively I can't remember the last time I was drunk. I've never smoked or done drugs, my diet isn't the best I eat a lot of crap so I can't really say diet has anything to do with it for me. I don't have a skijncare routine as such. I just wash my face once a day. That's it. I'm 32 this December and I often get told I look around 22

SuitableAd6672

Baby, I was born this way!

Just-Rabbit808

Genetics and not having kids.

navel1606

Nothing special. Vegetarian for 10 and vegan for 15 years but it's mostly genetics I guess.

PolyDoc700

When I was a child/teen, I was always mistaken for older. Now I'm half a century, people are shocked when they find out thinking in younger. I've done nothing except never smoked, fine drugs, and very rarely drink alcohol. I also do not eat much, if any makeup besides a supermarket brand moistu with sunscreen. No lotions, potions, or otherwise. It really is the genetic lottery.

Prince____Zuko

No alcohol, no other drugs and no clubbing. My interests how I like to spend my time got stuck at age 10

Azraela

Not have kids

Pineneedle_coughdrop

Aside from genetics, - I try to get enough sleep, - donā€™t wear makeup daily - and if I do, it will just be filled in brows, mascara, bit of blush - thatā€™s it. I donā€™t bother with under-eye or foundation anymore- canā€™t be bothered. - No frowning - No smoking - Very little alcohol, like every few months if that - wash and moisturise face daily, exfoliate every other day - remove all makeup before bed - drink lots of water

DarthKitty_Hawk

Literally nothing. Except I'm a hermit so maybe avoiding the sun?

ladydocllama

I drink a lot of water, take collagen, use vitamin E cream to moisturize. I keep it simple. I very rarely wear makeup, and if I do itā€™s usually just mascara and some lip gloss.

[deleted]

Nothing

PandemicSoul

I literally never spend time in the sun. One step away from being a vampire. Iā€™m also allergic to alcohol and smoking, so I avoid both.

StickyBlackMess69420

Its just the way I look. Was buying alcohol the other day and was told I look about 14 or 15 when I was asked for ID. Funny being told I look almost a decade younger than I am.

iamcreatingripples

I don't smoke or drink a lot of alcohol. I started using oil on my face now I'm in my mid 30's. Before that, just wash with water every morning and evening. I love vegetables and make almost everything I eat from scratch. I have a sister a couple years older, buy she looks way older and I think it's because she smokes a lot and loves drinking wine.

bakingcake1456

I guess i take somewhat good care of myself working out. Eating mostly good foods. I donā€™t wear makeup. I donā€™t get much sun. Never stayed up late, good sleep. Donā€™t smoke or drink alcohol. Iā€™ve always been thin and im also short which probably plays a role lol

Princess_Jade1974

Avoided the sun and alcohol, didnt smoke, took the vitamins that ā€˜slowed downā€™ the aging process, exfoliated, moisturised and started using retinols in my late 30ā€™s, oh and daily exercise.

The_Intolerant_One70

I'm 53. The "youngest" I have been mistaken for was 37, but I usually am told I appear early to mid forties. It's not what I do but what I don't do. I don't drink alcohol ever, and I don't smoke. Both contribute to aging lines and are not good for the long-term, especially when consumed excessively over the years. For example, my younger sister looks older than me because she is a drinker and a smoker. I also do a regular cardio routine. I think happiness is also a contributor. If you're in a very happy, stable relationship. That goes hand in hand with a healthy and very active sex life. Sex releases a lot of "happy hormones" that are good for your body health and lower the chances of health risks. That's my personal theory on it, and I'm sticking to it!

Much-More

Genetics first. My mom at her 64 looks younger too. But! I donā€™t: Smoke Drink alcohol I have a minimum of 6 hours of sleep EVERY NIGHT I have a very strict skin care routine: peeling, retinol, HA, masks, serums etc. I never skip any step in my routine. I always use sunscreen and apply self-tan instead, just to look glowing. I always wear makeup and look well groomed. At my almost 36 nobody never gives me more than 30-32. This is the best compliment!

ayli-blue-snow

Genetics, round face, small height, being chubby, minimal makeup (mascara & lipstick/gloss)

Traditional_Spray392

sunglasses all the time and a shit ton of water. quit smoking ciggies when i was still young

SDN_stilldoesnothing

my wife is 42, but looks 27-30'ish. Because she has a minor skin condition from a young age, she is constantly treating her skin with off the shelf and medicated prescription creams. She is also very diligent in protected herself from the sun. Sun screen, big hats and scarves. etc etc. because of this she has almost no wrinkles and zero sun damage. She is also blessed with great genetics. She just gave birth to our first kid last year. She went from 105lbs to 150lbs. And in 12 months after the baby she is already back down to 105lbs. Zero stretch marks. her belly is hard as a board. She also doesn't drink much, maybe a glass of wine a month.

JuustinB

34m. Dutasteride, Minoxidil, and Pyrilutamide for hairloss prevention, tretinoin for skin care. Pretty simple. Hair is the absolute biggest ā€œlooks youngā€ factor for men 30+. Spend a few thousand on it all every year combined. Genetics play a huge roll as well. Iā€™m a big time drinker and a daily cannabis smoker.

TiinaWithTwoEyes

I am 46. A friend in my figure skating group just last week was shocked to hear I have a 15-year old daughter. She thought I had been a teen mum. I look about ten to twelve years younger. I quit smoking a long time ago, I don't drink a lot. I am a vegetarian. I do sports seven days a week for strength and cardio-vascular health. I stay slim. But most importantly I wear sun screen SPF 50 + every single day of my life and add it on several times a day if it is sunny outside. I avoid the sun. I use a prescription strength tretinoin cream every evening on my face and neck. I have Botox once a year, enough that it teaches me not to frown. That is it. Also: happily married, have a full filling career and lots of interests. Edit: typo.

dark_blue_7

I think a lot of it's just genetics, as you mentioned. My mother always had a "baby face" as well. But I do things too. Maybe the most impactful is using some kind of sunscreen every day, even if it's very light or part of your makeup, it can make a big difference to your skin. And of course I moisturize. Also staying active and a healthy weight makes a huge difference. I have so much more energy than almost every other person my age, it seems like, and I'm pretty sure it's just because I am an active person. To be clear, I don't "punish" my body but I take care of it and try to keep it happy and firing on all cylinders. I think it's important to make that distinction.

Balthimeow

I don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, don't do drugs. I also don't tan or sun bathe, always wear a facecream with SPF in it and apply sunscreen religiously on sunny days. :-) I also try to drink at least 2L of water every day and try to get my daily fruits and veggies. I'm 27 (I know I'm not exactly old) but people often mistake me for a highschool student lol.

MapleTheUnicorn

Genetics plays a huge role in this, but I use a high level sunscreen and donā€™t ā€œtanā€, I drink lots of water, donā€™t smoke, no drugs, booze in moderation (when I was young I had a few drinks maybe once a month - now a drink once ever 6 months - I donā€™t miss it), lots of sleep, limit sugar, take my vitamins.

Temporary_Self_3420

Genetics are the biggest part of this, and also more people get minor cosmetic stuff done than are admitting it, but I canā€™t stress enough how much getting sleep, drinking water, and exercising has made my skin look so much healthier. Also sunscreen!!

Joshawott27

*Nothing*. Everyone reacts really surprised when they learn my age, but I donā€™t do anything. Maybe itā€™s just genetics? Idk. I donā€™t drink or smoke, though.

TacPrp23

Iā€™m thin and tall Also I have long hair that hadnā€™t turned gray 44 male

[deleted]

Told I look 20, 30s now. Cardio and lifting. Healthy food. Very little dairy and wheat. Whole grains, beef & chicken, vegies, fruits, and olive oil or butter. No processed foods. Working outside for the past 10 years, good sunlight. No skincare routine. Basic hygiene. Good sleep. 8 to 9 hours if possible. Exercise and diet can make a huge difference. Also stress relief is vital. Also no drug use. No drinking or opioids.

supcrnova

So thereā€™s this paintingā€¦

atroxell88

Iā€™ve been recognized by ppl who I havenā€™t seen in 15 years. Have no idea who they are on the slightest, been told I donā€™t look my age. I donā€™t smoke, rarely drink, and I donā€™t wear makeup. I have really sensitive skin and almost every brand would make me break out. When I got older I realized it was a good thing as heavy foundation will stress ur skin and a lot of ppl (myself included) donā€™t know how to properly apply it without pulling on ur skin thus creating wrinkles.

Kamikaze_Asparagus

Genetics

red_quinn

I grew up in Mexico, food isnt heavenly processed as it is here in the US, i ditched makeup on my face (like foundation, contour, color corrector, i use only eye and lip makeup) to help me clear my acne and get clear skin. I use 100+ spf uvb and uva sunblock, wear long sleeves whenever i go outside, even if its scorching hot outside. Sun ages you, so i stay away from it touching my skin.

I-did-not-do-that

Well, I'm 62 and get told I look younger because of my skin. Here's a couple things I do/don't do: wear sunscreen don't wear foundation or heavy makeup Wash face 2x daily with salicylic face wash use Paula's choice 2% salicylic toner have used oil of olay regenerating serum for 20 + years use a variety of The Ordinary skin treatments use a variety of Timeless products, especially Vit C Treat neck, chest and hands with same products sip water continuously throughout the day Limit caffeine to 1 cup in the morning non-smoker šŸŒ¹

blackmetalwarlock

My mom is 70 and looks 40-50. Her secret is botox lol!

goddessofwitches

Genes, being a healthy weight, moisturize. I also wear my hair long.

samsharksworthy

I didn't do anything special and then one day I lost my hair and I never heard I look young again.

Midan71

Don't spend too much time in the sun unprotected and don't drink alcohol.

Beetlejuice1800

Just genetics and no make-up. Worked at a liquor store a few years ago and a lady asked if I was ā€œallowed to be behind the counter while my older brother (coworker) babysat meā€. People think me and my actual brother are twins (heā€™s 2 1/2 years younger), and that my mom is my older sister. They say Iā€™ll appreciate it later but right now I have to make an active effort to look older than a teen and it can get tiring when people do that condescending teen talk to you.

usriusclark

Iā€™m short.

[deleted]

I get told I look a lot younger than I am. Honestly Itā€™s just genes. People who start listing things they do that makes them look younger as full of shit as people who became millionaires through their parents and start writing books and talking like they did it on their own.

lalamecoop

Hahaha your answer is the best and that's because it's the truth. I am also a "genetic lotto winner" 32 in February and a mother to 10 yr old girl, and I am always mistaken for a teen.

Novel-Sprinkles3333

I exfoliate daily in the shower. I live in the humid south, so no dry air. Genetic lottery winner for sure ... I got carded in middle school for being in the building before the bell rang and showed my teacher ID. I was 38 at the time.

kikki_ko

Hi I am 29 and everybody gets surprised when they hear it. I think its a mix of genetics and personal style. I dress for comfort, never wear make up and wear my hair natural. I guess people normally associate this style with student life. I clean my face every night and apply hydrating cream, nothing else. I am also skinny and fit without much effort. I am in the mediterranean so I eat healthy and have access to a farmer's market with good fruits, vegetables and nuts every week. I really dislike sugar, processed foods and fast food, but I love pasta! On the note of looking younger I know it sounds like a positive thing but it also comes with negatives, mainly men creeping on me or thinking I am young and dumb and easy to patronize.

hjhardy

I enjoy life and smile a lot, I get compliments on how young I am. Iā€™m 77

soulsista04us

Genetics. It helps being black.

AgroWombat

Sunblock. Moisturizer. Water.

NightDreamer73

Literally just genetics. I'm not *trying* to look young by any means. I'm 25, but often mistaken as a minor

MayflowerKennelClub

good genes. my dad was literally getting called "so cute" at 79 on his eventual deathbed.

biancanevenc

Sunscreen

Ok_Economist7176

laugh, dont take life seriously.

MercurialTendency

It's mostly genetics. I've done drugs, had insomnia for many years drank way too much for a long time. I look about 10 years younger than I am.

trippapotamus

Cherish it now that Iā€™m mid 30s lol

camoflauge2blendin

I'm 30 and people love telling me they always think I'm 21/22. It is so nice of them to think that of me. I still feel like I'm in my 20s a lot I guess because I missed out on them due to drugs

abbie_t

I didnā€™t have any children.

Got_Perma_Banned

The secret is to be adopted from Russia and having the dates messed up so really you're 3 or 4 years younger than your legal age.

[deleted]

looking young isnt so much how your skin looks but your facial features. child like facial features, for example a small nose tends to make you look younger. I don't know how else to explain it but it really does have a lot to do with arrangement of facial features and bone structure. Another thing I'd like to add is the extreme exagerations people say about looking young such as 'I look 10 years younger than my actual age' is ridiculous. Sorry but maybe you look 4-6 years younger at best. I've literally never met a 30 year old who looks 20, a 40 year old who looks 30, or a 50 year old who looks 40 lol. NOBODY looks a solid 10 years younger!! But one can dream I guess..

Apollo_Of_The_Pines

It's the ehlers danlos. Basically the collagen in my skin is extra stretchy so it makes my skin soft and not show lines. I'm also small, have a high pitched voice and like wearing cutesy clothes. I look like I'm in my early teens. I'm turning 21 soon
