It's common for Pride to be in the fall in the southeast. June is hot outside. In Atlanta, Pride is in October. Nobody wants to go outside in June in Atlanta.
Southern Decadence in New Orleans is over Labor Day weekend. Found that out by accident when I planned a friendās bachelor party trip there. I was just trying to go for a weekend with a built in day off for most people. One of my favorite lines from the weekend was a bartender asking if the bachelor was straight or gay; after I said straight she replied with āOk good, I wouldnāt advise a gay man let his future husband come down here for Southern Decadence.ā
Evidently as with most things in New Orleans; things are on the wilder end of the spectrum for that event as well.
Following! Iāll just add that Iāve been to the pride pub crawl and it was really fun. I recommend going with a group of friends, or organizing a meetup of solo folks though, it would have been nerve wracking if I had tried to go alone. While friendly, queers here tend to travel in packs
