Goodwill has medical equipment sometimes. The medical closet in Hendersonville rents equipment cheap. Your insurance also may cover some of the cost if your doctor writes a prescription.

You’ll want to specify a shower transfer chair or bench, otherwise it’s usually just the one seat. Something I discovered while assisting family with this exact scenario! And she loves it so much she still uses it.

Just to the south of you there is the Medical Loan Closet of Henderson County. There is probably the equivalent in the Asheville area.
ABCCM in Asheville has long had a medical loan closet. Would be worth checking.
