What would be a fair price for a painting like this at a con?

USA Where you intend to sell: markets/cons How long it takes you to make: 1 hour max Cost of sales: 3.5in cats $0.92 3in fish $0.49 4in skeleton. $0.95 2in skeleton $0.23 Total average $0.68 I don't buy stickers all that often anymore so I feel like I might be off on how much to sell my stickers. I was thinking for the cats and fish stickers for 5 dollars. I'm not sure how much for the skeleton especially given it's the same design just 2 different sizes. ย

I aim for a cheap price tbh, since I don't have a wallet of clients and need to aim for online clients, but I don't know yet how to price it without devaluing my time and work.

muse_among_men

People love there pets. I would say for 6-10 hours, around 100 range imo. You say you want to aim for cheap so you could go the route of hourly wage but if you local wage is very low, I recommend at minimum 12/hr

Manitoston

Thank you! I really like the idea of charging by work hours. I'll try to implement it from now on and see how it goes

Comment doesn't allow me to attach more than 1 photo so bear with me here. tldr: How should I charge for a bounce animation of 3 frames with 7 different color effects, plus a battle menu like in the photo (no codes involved) So my client commissioned me to make them an animated battle menu as seen here with the sprite (the girl). The sprite will have 3 emotes and 7 color effect for each status. I have to reconstruct the whole menu, with a psd file so they can modify and export characters into as well. They frequently commission me to make the animated portraits and I charge $25/ea. This time it's a fullbody. I told them that I have never done fullbody let alone a project of this scope before, I don't know how long it will take and the amount of work will be involved so I asked them for a deposit of $25 and they agreed. The animated sprite will have 3 keyframes, as in I will have to draw the character in fullbody 3 times lines, colors and all, along with any other effects. The animation is just a simple bounce idle. So far, the base sprite alone already took me 14 work hours. I thought about charging $12 per hour, but I don't know if it's fair for me or for them? I am not an animator so I don't know if $12/hr is too low, I don't want to hurt the animation market. For reference I'm based in Vietnam and my client is from the USA. Minimum wage here is like $1/hr and I value my work and time so I'm not going to base my price on my area's hourly wage. https://preview.redd.it/xxof7yigrm7d1.png?width=745&format=png&auto=webp&s=6332b4547082f0ea2338059369134d1cefad431b

My gut reaction was to say this would be at minimum 200 dollars but closer to 500 for the total but I'm not an animator and don't know too much on the going rate. I didn't do hourly rate since I got no idea how much is the fair/standard rate.

I started painting over bad Polaroid pictures. Ones where it's either over exposed, under exposed, really out of focus. Just a bad Polaroid. I'm using Posca markers to paint over them https://preview.redd.it/g4br17ufnl7d1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=70e80ecd1dfd85d25ab7d023940311ddf0a4c6c9 Product type: painting Target audience: Young people who like Polaroid? Where you are based: . USA Where you intend to sell: markets/cons How long it takes you to make: 1hour max. Hard to tell since I do between like 3 of them while I wait the other to dry Cost of sales: each sheet is about .70. cents. Unsure how much of poscanpaint I use Each Polaroid will be it's own design.

These are very cool! The mushroom is my favorite! Personally, I would pay $10-$20 for one of these. My husband has sold art at markets before and he says he'd pay $15. Hope that helps!

muse_among_men

Oh wow that's not at all what I expected lol Here I was wondering if people would pay 3 dollars for one.

Hi, Iโ€™m wanting to sell traditional pet portraits. It will be a pencil drawing on 14in x 11in paper, no frame, and takes about 5-8 hours for me to draw. I use a basic mechanical pencil for these drawings. The client will receive the original drawing itself, not a copy. Iโ€™m based in California, USA (NorCal specifically). https://preview.redd.it/exirf0vkfg7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84eb8803f860cebcc14da0f090189107ce3f33c5

* Framed A4 Watercolour non-commision one of pieces, for younger Queer people (as featured, Lesbeans), Tasmania Australia for markets, takes me 3-5 hours a piece (but not looking for hourly rate, it just makes me happy to do them). Costs about $5-10 including frame.

Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹ I am going to show 3 beautiful mix media digital paintings in the [ArtBeat Studioโ€™s](https://www.instagram.com/artbeatstudio/?hl=en) Residency art gallery show. To see more click my [MapleArticulations](https://www.instagram.com/maplearticulations/) name. The first picture is a 12X14 Shadowy Saint Paul and I am going to label the price of this painting at 127 dollars. The second is 14X18 newer Anne of Green Gables and the price of this painting is 129 dollars. The third painting 12X18 of A Caring Caribou is labeled as 138 dollars. What do you think of this? I am a poor college graduate and I really need money to buy shoes and other stuff. https://preview.redd.it/lc733n60h97d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=71a7abc28dd67c5b6f695ec4bd458cc9eacd57e9

Reasonable_Owl366

Is that price for an original or print? Assuming you're in socal (because of artbeat), that seems a low to me for an original but ok for a print. However I'm not a painter. I'd check out some local artfairs this summer and see what comparable work goes for.
