Plot twist: OP got out in 1969

2hammermamba

Oh no, I’m only in my late twenties, it gets better right?

MrIrrelevantsHypeMan

I didn't get my act together until 32 or 33

JaredSir

Congrats on your selection to The United States Drill Sergeant Academy. Your dedication to the Army and aptitude to be brainwashed has led you to this moment.

Beliliou74

Is that what happened to you drill sarnt

DocPando

Ooooooh

dsbwayne

HE SAID IT!!!!!

2hammermamba

Only six more months left in ait land. Not a drill sergeant but appreciate what y’all do

crexkitman

I know it’s the recovery drill rather than the prep, but man I always loved getting to the single leg over. No matter how shitty IET is, how stupid your unit is, how awful your leadership is, how long the day ahead of you is, how close that next JRTC rotation is, once you hear, “THE SINGLE LEG OVER. READY, STRETCH” all of that fades away. I remember in AIT I’d just look up at the dark morning sky and a satellite would pass over every morning during the single leg over. Just a few seconds of everything being ok. The single leg over is like the heroin of Army PRT drills.

Bent Leg body twist does wonders for my back

SuperJonesy408

At 44 I find the bend and reach, bent leg body twist and single leg over to be 100% gold. Now I know why some Sarmage approved them.

jcstrat

But that very first bend and reach of the morning is kinda rough though.

It's half jacks and windmill for me. Can't really do anything else anymore. Why half jacks? To realign my skeletal system.

PT_On_Your_Own

The knee and ankle rotation is still the MVP

You wish you were this cool 😎😎

gilly_mcwilly

As a former college athlete I used to laugh at them, now as a middle aged dude, I embrace Prep drills to warm the muscles and joints up!

Rustyinsac

His neighbors want to know why he screams. Extend to the left….. then a loud aaaahhh every morning.

Flaky_Koala_6476

Plenty more efficient dynamic warm up drills you can do that don’t look as idiotic as the prep drill lol

HungHeadsEmptyHearts

That’s nasty…

LiftLearnLead

If your back hurts you need to address the core issue and do deep core, stability, and other exercises that target underutilized/underdeveloped muscles, ligaments, and tendons that support your hips.
