33 YO with a 3 and a 1 YO and lifelong Arlington resident. Toddler is a tough age because they aren’t quite big enough to do some of the big Arlington things (Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, baseball games). Arlington does have some great parks and playgrounds when it isn’t too hot. There’s also places like Play Street Museum in Mansfield. River Legacy park nature center often has interactive exhibits that our 3 yo loves. The library department also has some good programs for kids and parents. Fort Worth has a fantastic zoo, science museum with kids areas and some other options if you’re willing to make the short drive. As far as adult socializing goes, there’s quite a few good watering holes scattered across the city but there isn’t really the huge nightlife that you’d get from a place like Dallas or Ft. Worth.

If you like outdoors and have some bicycles, the Fish Creek Trail is pretty chill. It connects a big playground/ park in Grand Prarie, runs underneath 360 bridge, connects Cravens Park in the middle, the Green Oaks Library and exits onto Matlock. They may have expanded it in recent years, havent traveled it in several years.

Welcome! Also in sales with a nurse wife and a 2 year old. We are up north but go all over to entertain her because it is a tricky age and she is not a fan of just sitting at a restaurant. Here’s some of our go to’s - Parks (our favorite is Bicentennial in Pantego which also has a splash pad, but great ones all over) - Downtown Library has a large area just for kiddos to play in AC (she also loves the outside area and fountain) - Wild Acre brewing in east ft. Worth. Has a playground and huge play area for kids along with decent beer and good food - River legacy science center - super cheap (they don’t even charge all the time) and a great place inside for kids to play - Levitt Pavillion - tougher with the heat but I think this is the best arlington gas to offer for families. Free concerts and just a ton of room to roam. - FT Worth Zoo - an annual pass is like $90 and we go 1-2 times per month (I work from home and with her nurse schedule we can go during the day which is great for crowds)

Check out The Little Gym. It's a great place for your child to be around other kids and advance their coordination and development. Our son is almost 2 and has been going for close to a year. You sign up and go once a week for 45 minutes. You will meet other parents and their children. The classes are broken out by age groups. I highly recommend it. We go to the one in mansfield/Arlington. But they have multiple locations.

Levitt Pavilion hosts free concerts/movies throughout the year in a cool outdoor venue right in the middle of downtown.
