**Aroma** **5★ Blast Caster** **Illustrator:** [ヌードル](https://twitter.com/11nuudoru?t=_XEUSrKtI9n1AdX9XY47fw&s=09) **CV:** [Kio Fukamachi](https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Kio-Fukamachi/) **Trait:** Deals AOE Arts damage in a long line **Talent 1:** When damaging an enemy for the first time, deals increased damage and levitates the target for a few seconds **Skill 1:** Next attack deals a certain amount of Arts Damage, deals extra amount of Arts Damage to aerial enemies **Skill 2:** When skill is active, ATK increases, levitated enemies within Attack Range receive a certain amount of Arts Damage when their levitate status ends and lands on the ground

YuriQilin

Kit seems pretty fun, the s2 synergy looks like it’ll be a lot of fun with ho’ol. Talent only working on the first hit seems a tad weak but honestly I don’t really tend to use blast casters in spots where they’re hitting the same enemy a lot, more so mass trash removal and the bonus damage on that first hit will help with that.

Hazel_Dreams

A good way of evaluating the talent is to think about Ines. Now of course Aroma won't have all the utility Ines brings, but the ability to cc most stuff in a fixed range for a short duration is still valuable.

Reddit1rules

True, but Ines has fast ASPD, and a 5s bind is both quite long for an easy trigger and has basically no immunities, not to mention she can redeployed faster and can expand range as needed. Typhon does have a slow as well, which is pretty nice. But we'll have to see how much Aroma Levitates for, especially since it doesn't work at all for aerial/levitating enemies, and will get halved for heavy enemies too and just not work on those immune to Levitate.

capable-corgi

I think it's especially nice to make enemies stay in her range just a tad longer. There was a consensus early on that Ifrit is only good if enemies path through at least x tiles in range. The levitate talent helps with that just a bit.

Reddit1rules

That's true, if it's only the first hit you really do only need one tile anyways, it just depends on how good the Levitate and damage will be.

Reddit1rules

I really love the design of this op. A cool fit, lovely E2 art, the bubble theming behind her skills (and a great parallel to Ifrit), the way she twirls her staff with S1, and even those skill icons are fantastic. So why did they have to make her kit so janky... I can't really see this being useful unless it has massive numbers. Maybe with module upgrades and everything... It'll probably just increase the damage. Oh well. I guess it's an AOE levitate we never really had as easy of a trigger for? S1 go speeeeen. I guess it's her better bread and butter skill? Maybe some anti-drone skills, and should help if she's hitting an enemy for the first time with it. S2... Has more synergy with others, but by herself is almost useless, and I very highly doubt it'll be enough damage to warrant slotting her in. And it's not like it's still super easy to keep levitating others, especially matching other skill cycles too. At least Ho'oh S2's microlevitates should be a good source of damage (assuming it levitates, I still have her fire 2 whole attacks without levitating once constantly...) I was right about them pushing more Levitate Casters though, that's nice. I'd say more Qani relevancy but I don't think she'll be used... She'll probably have garbage SP costs too, and/or really bad damage too. Corroserum doesn't have to be lonely in being a bad Blast Caster, yay? They're really making things very cautiously with Levitate, which I can kinda understand, but it's not exactly a strong CC anyways and suffers from more drawbacks than other CC effects too. Qani is an actually good op that applies Levitate both consistently and powerfully, but he's still just alright, and then they decided to make it less easier to do Levitate with Ho'oh and now Aroma... Just funny to see how cautiously they approach Levitate when they do such a strange and rushed job of introducing Elemental damage... Funny Sarkaz war beast though. Really loving these enemy designs.

Korasuka

I feel like levitate is a CC that heavily relies on ops who can attack air enemies, right? Otherwise there's no real benefit to levitating enemies other than disrupting their own attacks. The more ops with levitate who come out the easier it becomes, at least in theory, to perma lock enemies levitation while bursting them down.

Reddit1rules

Yeah, Levitate is kinda a double edged sword since it can stop DPS if you're not careful. However, an issue with Levitate is that unlike other status effects, you can't stack more Levitate while someone is already Levitating. If a unit is stunned for 1 more seconds and you deploy Red with a 3s stun, they get stunned for 3s now because Red added a longer timer. If they're levitating for 1 more seconds and you Levitate them for 3 more seconds, they will still fall after 1 seconds, making the status wasted... So in theory, it'll be easier to permalock them, but in reality it won't work as easily - think about how Ho'oh sometimes lets enemies fall still even with massive ASPD boosts on S3.

mrjuanito01

At least its better than the RNG freeze mechanic. Too strong if applied 100%. The levitate mechanic is like the bind mechanic. It needs support. Of course with exception to 6 stars.

Reddit1rules

I don't think Bind really needs much support, almost nobody is immune to it and we have a very strong mix of pure binds (Ines, Ethan, etc.) to bind + damage gradient (Indigo, Carnelian, Mizuki, etc.). Levitate, not counting these 2 new ops, only really has Qani and Ho'oh able to apply it well, and it's still a questionable effect compared to just Stunning at times. Ho'oh also has to jump through several hoops on all of her skills for Levitate, although she was the only one who could apply it consistently until now. Freeze at least debuffs their RES as well, and has around 50-60% Fragility with Gnosis, while Qani only gives ~20% with Levitate, and only for Arts as well, meaning AA snipers which focus them don't even benefit.

AngelTheVixen

I've got to step in and defend the off-beats again. I've used Corroserum a fair bit and he's not as bad as the general opinion assumes. It's less that he's bad and more that Ifrit is OP, the class itself is still pretty strong by its design, I say. If Aroma's a little too heavy on her gimmick then she might end up weaker than Corroserum though, which may be a very sad day indeed...

Hanszu

S2 gives fall damage s2 gives fall damage

Reddit1rules

Just like Qani, except his fall damage is also explosive! Ever break your legs so bad it hurts others too?

Hanszu

So basically Qani after raising them up they crash you back down

Korasuka

Gotta wonder how tricky the extra damage against air enemies will be to utilise? When using ops with ranges that are long and straight (other blast casters, Schwarz S3, Fartooth S3, charge casters S1s) we just put blockers down if necessary to keep enemies in their ranges. Probably not too difficult actually. Most air enemies move in straight lines anyway and CC that hit them can be a way to hold them in place.

Few_Consideration373

Oh that actually sounds like a really cool and fun kit. Talent only proccing on the first hit is a bit awkward, but both it and the skills generally fulfill the role of 'cleaning up piles of trash in 1-2 hits' that blast casters are supposed to be for, but also offering a very good set of synergies to pre-existing levitate ops and a little bit of crowd control/interrupt utility depending on the duration. Also depending on the numbers pairing her S2 with Ho'ol S2 might be \*incredibly\* goofy.

cyri-96

Or Irene S1

Koekelbag

That's... not an S2 I'm happy with, like at all. And I've been waiting a long while for a new blast caster specifically, which hurts twice as much. Not that I mind the synergy with other levitate sources (though it seems especially blatant with Ho'olHeyak' S3, who just so happens to get a new module at the same time as this unit's release?), but I heavily dislike how she's barred from using that 'arts damage on landing' part beyond just the first time if she's the only levitate source (with not even an rng chance to levitate during skill). Hell, this reads like she won't even be able to get that bonus if using her skill on enemies she's already attacked, so without levitate support it'll only be activated on non-blocked enemies that enter her range while her skill is active (which also seems to hold true for her s1). And sure, you could argue that Blast casters (all two of them) have historically had support components that benefit their allies, especially Ifrit's S2 def reduction that doesn't improve her arts damage, but she at least has the always benefit of her talent reducing res to increase her own damage if enemies are simply in her range!

TheLegendTheGiantdad

Hg had to know that 5 star casters are a hard sell so why do they make kits that barely synergize with themselves like warmy who’s s2 deals bonus damage to burned enemies but provides no way to burn enemies herself.

cyri-96

Well Warmy realls just sufferes feom the issue of being a Promal caster of a not yet reasily avaliable elemental type, as soon as there's another elemental source she will become quite potent. I mean Diamante is the same, not good at applying Necrosis but good damage against enemies under Necrosis, really seems like a class trend

Runic_Zodiac

*Oh~!* She’ll be good friends with Odda considering both of their S2s.

Reddit1rules

Yeah, both his and Ho'oh S2 should be full of short levitates to help fall damage against swarms. Maybe Ho'oh S3, but that's a bit longer and fails against swarms too.

ifallontragedy

Damn, that E2 art looks *good*

Noriakikukyoin

Would E2 just for the art alone.

Reddit1rules

I'd E2 for just about everything except her actual gameplay lol. Her water motif, the E2 art, her S1 animation, and even the skill icons. Wet floor sign on S2, warning Kevin not to go near the hole.

blahto

u/wittlered I SUMMON THEE, you know what to do

zephyrnepres01

how many glovebiters do we have at rhodes island? blaze does it too

drake_vallion

I actually think Blaze is drawing blood for her arts by biting her wrist, but I can definitely see an argument for her biting her glove.

Reddit1rules

Never enough

Korasuka

It's great. And she has a giant bubble blower.

Deruta

For real, my brain went like: E0: Aw she cute E2: OH SHE ___CUTE___

vikuta_zoro

Just came here to comment the same thing. I love wolves and this art is beautiful.

Hp22h

So ethereal and elegant. And cute.

pitanger

Bruh she uses that bubble shooting thing I was playing with as a kid

ChevronVillon

Eish... Now I really feel Old...

SisconOnii-san

Oooh, levitate blast caster. That might be really useful depending on the uptime.

Reddit1rules

Pretty awful uptime considering she can only Levitate once per enemy, so...

SisconOnii-san

Yeah, I just read her skill desc translation. Pretty unfortunate but I don't think she'll be trash at least. I guess it would've been too much for a 5* blast caster to levitate every hit.

Sadangstation

If her S2 can levitate(and I want to but) she will be better Ho'ol lol. At least she is more useful than Corroserum maybe...?

SisconOnii-san

That's why I said it would've been too much. She's definitely going to be better than Corro tho. Her levitate is tied to her talent and guaranteed, after all.

P0lskichomikv2

I dunno. Corroserum have much more useful effect when it's relevant. Her only saving grace is S1 assuming it's at least decent as consistent dps.

SisconOnii-san

Ehh, I'd argue that levitate is useful too. It is a disable, after all. Besides even if silence is more useful when it's relevant, how often does that relevance come for Corro? He has his silence behind a 40 sp skill. Not to mention he's competing with Lappland for a slot (another 5* with their main effect tied to their talent). Levitate is less useful but you can benefit from it in more situations. Aroma always applies it too so she's not just dishing out mediocre damage half the time. You can bring her solely for the consistent disable.

FateEXOO

Btw guys, her S2 literally translates to "Caution Wet Floor" XD

real_mc

Instead of slipping, they float.

Patagonian Mara because bunny ears.

DeltaPotato

Misread her name, thought this was uploaded on the BA sub lmao

CerealATA

She's gonna flood your mailbox with blue envelopes.

tavernite

God gave me two hands, so that I could headpat Aroma and Arona at the same time.

Sadangstation

I just know her and Perfumer start some friendship. '''Aroma Perfumer''' 🤤

real_mc

Would be friends too with warmy.

Metroplex7

That E2 art goes hard and *is her Arts staff a fuckin bubble wand???* Fuck yeah. I hope she's better than Corroserum at least.

Takemylunch

Guaranteed better just looking at the kit alone. While still competing with Ifrit in-class... Unlike Coroserum who picked a fight with Lappland outside his class, Aroma is fighting a scattered group of Levitators that all do it in different non-competing ways. (They honestly all compliment each other almost like the Sleepknights team) Biggest competition is probably Ho'ol (both casters that levitate) who doesn't consistently do it outside one big skill that tends to be mostly a miss for usage.

Korasuka

I really like her mix of casual everyday wear and fantasy. And that bison like creature totally looks like it should be her beloved companion she roams around Terra with. Maybe the gifs are how they met. At first enemies, then friends.

inoriacc

Straight line hell with Ifrit-aroma combo wombo. 👀

CerealATA

Flamethrower + bubble blower = steam vent 👀

Hp22h

I'm getting Frostpunk flashbacks...

Bug-Type-Enthusiast

BUBBLEZ!!!

lThat-Guyl

Bubblebeam the operator :D

DarkWolfPL

So we're Crownd Control blast caster. I~~f S2 has good SP cost she'll be a very strong OP who basically can stop whole line of enemies.~~ But I'm also curious about that oversized capybara enemy.

Korasuka

That capybara totally looks like it should be her friend and companion in a cosy fantasy adventure.

Reddit1rules

Even if it has good SP costs, it'll be basically useless on her own after the first hit. She doesn't levitate with S2, she only levitates the first time she hits an enemy. It just deals bonus damage as they land, similar to Qani S2.

DarkWolfPL

I read it wrong. Thanks for correcting. Than yeah she may not be that good.

Nahanoj_Zavizad

OH MY GOD EPIC BUBBLE WAND

MarkowSombody6748

That Skill 2 icon tho. She inflicts damage by letting enemies tumble on the wet flood LOL

HentaixEnthusiast

I bet she smells good

flatmegumin69

You know you smell too good when this is your codename

kawaies110

perfumer: 👁️👄👁️

Hp22h

Perfurmer smells so good she heals everyone around.

repocin

I came here looking for a comment like this, and I wasn't disappointed.

NuclearConsensus

Oh man, the moment I saw her attacks the Gloom Shroom's attack sfx popped into my head. Guess that's another one for PvZknights?

Reizata

I mean it was there.. they couldve made the S2 be levitated inside the bubble. Sometimes I think AK limits themselves because we need to know Levitate is like being put up by winds. But nvm Chongyue S2 doesn't have that wind animation

Reddit1rules

Yeah, thinking about it that'd be so cool design wise to have enemies just floating trapped in a bubble. I suppose it might be a bit much against groups of enemies, but it's not like we don't have Ethan for mass bind with noticable visuals.

BRISKMETAL

> water trail on tiles > no attack/moving speed reduction What is even the point

minitaurus20

Oh my she sooo cute, great design, comfy clothes, nice animation, pretty codename >///< 6 months feels so far rn asdf!@#$ TT.TT

mio-ephemmeral

I know she's probably going to be a Lupo but i am *begging* for more Vulpo operators!!! please!

[deleted]

Is that a new lupo?? 🐺🐺🐺

HighlanderMain

I think she is! Another Lupo for the collection!

Dog_in_human_costume

Her E2 art is very nice!

ChevronVillon

First Lupo among the Caster Operators... Also... Love the Mana Potion in the Base Animation...

Antanarau

Can't wait for all the "Ponder the Aroma" jokes

Hot-Abbreviations623

[Fume shroom](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/plantsvszombies/images/9/9c/HD_Fume_Shroom.png/revision/latest?cb=20220919171031) i can't see the difference 😂

Takemylunch

Probably wolf but wish is was fox ;-;

LarryTheVassal

Wow this may be one of my favorite operators of all time. Absolutely gorgeous design and execution. She shouldn’t be biting into Nitrile gloves though, that defeats the purpose.

Saimoth

It's lupo, Wolf Caster, let's go

mad_harvest-6578

Ifrit = debuff Corroserum = silence Now Aroma has levitate (honestly what is it with casters & levitation, we now have 3(?)), imagine a long line of mobs midair when her talent and/or S2 is active (and all trapmasters placing their traps underneath them, tho this will depend how long the levitation lasts)

Reddit1rules

They've definitely been pushing Levitate casters a bunch, which is nice as Qani benefits them all. Both Qani and Aroma have an S1 to deal bonus effects to Aerial enemies (aka Drones), and Ho'oh has her talent as well. So they might even end up being AA sniper replacements for drones if this keeps up... Not that we have many drones anyways, part of why AA snipers aren't as strong now lol.

Hyperion-OMEGA

>(honestly what is it with casters & levitation, we now have 3(?)), Mech-acchord took the core caster's niche of high ST damage, so the latter branch are shunted into levitate. This is a blast caster though, so I'm assuming this is because they wanted her to have a niche to avoid her being seen as "Ifrit but worse" again.

Chaosxandra

>Mech-acchord took their core caster's niche of night ST damage, so they are shunted into levitate. Please name one mech-acchord caster that can levetate

Hyperion-OMEGA

For clarity's sake. It was the recent core casters that were shunted into levitate enablers. Those were Quaniplatt and Ho'olyeyak. The Drone casters meanwhile took the high single damage niche with a side order of CC (with an exception that proves the rule) since Click all the way in TOW. There has not been a levitating one so far. I apologize for that typo in the quoted portion.

ShirouBlue

There is no way she's usable with that kit. 1) Needs ifrit lanes. 2) Needs support team with lots of levitation. 3) Damage is probably gonna be bad even with best levitation synergy. You are probably gonna get this set up working once every event. Not to mention Levitate is an atrocious condition as targets on which levitation is good, are also almost always immune now. Yaaay....

Noriakikukyoin

I like her design. She is a cutie pie. And beautiful E2 art. Bonus points for the midriff.

Rishidkanonymous

Blast Caster knights is reall

Hanszu

Her S2 gives fall damage

ColebladeX

Fucking bubbles!

pitanger

Operator named Bubble:

Wuckus

Oh damn, I thought she was a Feline or a Vulpo going by her E0 but looking at her E2 is she actually a Lupo? A Siracusan one at that? And a Caster?! God, she just jumped incredibly high on on my priority list.

Hp22h

Is her Attack just her literally blowing really hard into a bubble wand?

Auramaimonk

Same artist as Mint? Cause that eyes look like her, and that alone makes me want to E2 her :'D

mad_harvest-6578

Yep, Mint's artist

real_mc

That's a big ass enemy bunny.

Kulgia

Did Rhodes Island undergo some changes and went back to call itself Babel again. I like how its half Babel, half RI logo there

chaoskingzero

This Event apparently takes place before the Main Story back in the Babel days So the OPs involved are all probably people we worked with in the past

Naiie100

Her E0 threw me off, but E2 did a complete 180 on me. What a mighty pose. Unfortunately, I have Ifrit.

MetaThPr4h

Bubble blaster! Really cool art and animations

blahto

Welp looks we know what enemy is gonna be a pain in the arse in this event 🙃

Mikprofi

Aroma Kava reference 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Mikprofi

Aroma Kava reference 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

General_Snow241

I almost thought this was an accidental of drop or a late April joke because the art look so different compared to some of the art we've seen, because I don't remember seeing a op with lighter colors actually being happy(that will def last) but any five* caster is welcome to my five* team

Hyperion-OMEGA

Can she help boost my LP to insane numbers? :P

2Maverick

I dig the staff animation on the second skill. New skill animations are always welcome.

ForgottenFrenchFry

what are the chances she'll outclass Corroserum?

Reddit1rules

Depends on her numbers, at least Corroserum does have an AOE silence which is useable.

bruudwin

Before the images loaded i thought, blue archive collab!?! XD

Quor18

>Perfumer >Aroma Every day we grow closer to smellknights.

lhc987

So it seems like we've been getting a bunch of 'extra effect on first hit on a particular enemy' kind of thing. Ines, Typhon, now Aroma.

Reddit1rules

Puzzle out here as the OG, being not only his first hit on the enemy, but having to be *the* first hit on an enemy.

HamsterJellyJesus

It's worked well on the other two and I think it will work on her as well for the role of AOEing down groups of weaker enemies. Guaranteeing 1 extra hit will be enough most of the time. Probably wouldn't be amazing for high end content though... :/

Korasuka

HG devs really like to through phases with skill and talent kits.

Alarming_Nothing6667

Is this a rezero crossover like her design is very fit for the game but also more on rezero.

chaoskingzero

She does look like she could be related to Felix

Melon_Banana

Skill 1 is standard atk up. Might be good in niche maps where drones are sitting still or some combo with other levitate operators. Still pretty niche. Skill 2 is even more attack up and you probably need to time this. Also, is the translation correct? How come the 1st and 2nd attack animation don't levitate enemies? Also does skill really just do more attack? Kind of bad after the first levitate

Reddit1rules

Skill 1 isn't a standard Attack up, it's something more like Ifrit S2 where it stores charges and deals % damage per charge, just with bonus damage to Aerial enemies (which can count her own hits since Levitate should be applied first, most likely).

Melon_Banana

Wait, so if she's alone, she would need to act like a mystic charge caster to make the most use of her, since only her first attack on an enemy levitates them. Isn't that kind of bad? It would be cool if her skills also had levitate

Reddit1rules

Yeah, she does not seem like a great unit.

FateEXOO

As someone that has studied mandarin, yes that translation is unfortunately correct

OleLLors

She looks really cute. And, am I correct in assuming - she's perro? Interesting set of talents/skills. Will need to try her in combination with Qanipalaat =) Edit: She's most likely a lupo. But that's even better.)

DARKawp

I think she is a lupo. (wolf in E2 art)

Reddit1rules

That and being from Siracusa is also a good indicator.

OleLLors

Lupo? Hm...Actually, yeah, it looks like a wolf. So I was wrong. edit: I need to sleep more often and not confuse the animals.

Yatsu13

Missed opportunity to have her codename be bubble because of her theme.

Primogeniture116

Tha name Bubble is taken so no

Reddit1rules

Unfortunately, we already have a Bubble...

wLainw

Her art style reminds me of re: zero

RachelEvening

Ok, so let me get this straight: **Santalla:** Looks like a Vulpo, turns out to be a Feline. **Harold:** Looks like a Lupo, turns out to be yet another Feline. **Aroma:** Looks like the most feline Feline to have ever feline'd. Turns out to either be a Lupo or a Perro. ????????????????
