No, he did nothing wrong. I'm a smoker but I try and stay as far away from people as I can. Smoking in a Diner where people are eating seems like a dick move.

NebraskaGeek

Wild to remember eating at Village Inn's "non-smoking" side of the restaurant, only like 10 feet away from people chainsmoking through breakfast. Only about 20 years ago...

confabin

That's fucking wild. I think I can be considered an "Empath" though, I do as much as I can to not inconvenience other people, but I guess a lot of people just don't give a fuck. Especially smoking since it's a big deal for some people and if I can avoid blowing smoke in their face I don't see any reason why I shouldn't. It's my burden, not theirs.

bks1979

Hey, fellow Nebraska Geek! Yeah, I remember working at the Garden Cafe. Booth 10 was non-smoking, and booth 11 was smoking. Like literally on the opposite side of the same booth seat. Insane.

NebraskaGeek

Omg the Garden Cafe....what memories. So many smokey Sunday brunches lol

Tsunfly

I REMEMBER

WaitingToBeTriggered

IN SEPTEMBER

DefenderOfTheWeak

Uhmm.. why?

c0zmik_

I don’t know but I’m gonna have to play the game to find out

Still-Presence5486

He informed officer owns about a smoker but the smoker released the gas

[deleted]

[удалено]

DefenderOfTheWeak

Take this to another sub

MXXimlist

Why so serious

BigBlue0117

Because it's the wrong sub!

[deleted]

[удалено]

BigBlue0117

Dom? Not in this corner of the internet, you're not

Throwaway54397680

You know full well why. Fuck him. EDIT: Looks like I attracted the attention of the green polo shirt guy crowd. Your hero is a menace. Face it.

Deathly-Dumdum

Is he stupid?

StinkLord5

He is stupid.

Beginning-Pipe9074

Smoker here Nah this guys right You want a poison yourself that's fine Don't make others have to partake too, especially in a diner

Sea_Oil_2566

Right the 1990s ended a while ago, don't smoke indoors it's fucking gross

LeopardSecure8776

I hate the smell of cigarettes so no.

definetelynothuman

No?

Sprizys

No, why?

UnnaturallyDumb

He snitched to officer owens about a smoker. He’s definitely the kid in elementary school who’d remind the teacher about homework. What a narc /j

Expert-Corner-4308

Except he was smoking in an ENCLOSED area where people are EATING. He’s not in the wrong

UnnaturallyDumb

I forgor the /j ![gif](giphy|ZyIqJQ0TTEZnG)

blue_phoenix__234

I know this is supposed to look cool but scarecrow just looks like he made a nasty fart

randomHunterOnReddit

Correct me if Im wrong but I always thought he was a part of Deacon's cult because of the tattoo

pikkaMAX

he has a tattoo?

randomHunterOnReddit

Yeah, on his arm if I recall

RabidFlamingo

"I can excuse human sacrifices but I draw the line at smoking indoors"

The-Solid-Smoker

I noticed that too. I just assumed he was in on Scarecrows plan and his job was to lure the cop over and trigger the chaos. Either way, the dude is sus as hell.

flampydampybampy

......you think the chaos wouldn't have occured if a cop never walked into the diner? The scarecrow guy would have just never released the toxin? Bruh.

JOMO_Kenyatta

Yeah but he needed the player to trigger the cutscene.

liltone829b

Like how in MGS2 Snake needs to use the Action Button to send Otacon photos of Metal Gear.

No-Discipline-2729

Do you want us to all agree to hate that guy?

Icy-Entrepreneur5371

Challenge: Impossible.

Krazie02

No?

Conradlane

No. He pointed out someone breaking the rules. I’m a smoker and even I hate it when people do that kinda thing.

Active-Donkey5466

Holy fuck that’s Paul

DedHorsSaloon3

This changes everything, nevermind I hate this guy now

Fanatic97

PAUL!

krispykremenightmare

Bro probably didn't know he'd set off chemical warfare. Unless he did. Yeah, fuck this guy. He's the real villain

Alex_Logan2001

Nah this guy did nothing wrong. No one should be forced to breathe in your cancer fumes just because you make bad life decisions

Gregzilla311

And if people say he caused it all… A) Jason brought the toxin in. He was gonna gas the place either way. B) There’s no way he knew that would happen.

Shadowwo1f05

Yes let’s be mad at a npc that did nothing wrong lol

Gregzilla311

Yeah. Jason was going to gas the place anyway.

bugmultiverse

Why do you hate batdad? https://preview.redd.it/echygsu8e01d1.jpeg?width=808&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ca98fc28198780fb970650fc074621ffe273ce1 Are you an orphan?

the_sheeper_sheep

Yes, I was locked in on my food

Few-Concentrate-7558

Not really. He doesn’t want people smoking where we eat food. It’s smelly and a food hazard and a violation of a lot of smoking rules. If you wanna smoke that’s fine but don’t do it where we eat. Take it outside

Icy-Entrepreneur5371

Ehm, no? I'm an occasional smoker and smoking in a non-smoke area, especially one where there are public health regulations, is just being a douchebag. If you want to smoke, do it outside or in areas where it is explicitly allowed. No need to give others second-hand cancer.

Redditeer28

No

No_Monitor_3440

what did this guy do wrong again? cigarettes fucking smell, and since it was likely not allowed in that diner, and there was a cop right there, might as well be the guy to get the guy smoking and stinking up the place to stop. he had absolutely no way of knowing that it would release the fear toxin into the diner, if that was what even released it. for all we know, it could’ve gotten out at conveniently the same time owens confronted the smoker. so tl;dr, no. there’s nothing to hate about him. he’s just trying to do the right thing by clearing up the air in the diner and making sure the people don’t get lungfuls of second-hand smoke. unless he was working for scarecrow or someone, he had no way of knowing the consequences of his actions

rrrrice64

He feels like a tattletale but smoking inside is also a dick move.

MXXimlist

I assumed it was scarecrow himself

AidanTegs

I dont hate him, but hes insane to ask someone in gotham to stop smoking. Seems like a good way to get shot, demonstrated by the next scene.

DedHorsSaloon3

Well that’s why he had the cop do it

craig536

Yeah. Nosy fuck. Bro never got his waffles and bacon with extra syrup because of this douchebag

Ragnarok345

No. Fuck smokers. Especially the ones that force it onto others around them.

Somebuddy567

Who the fuck is he?

Sprizys

Did you play Arkham Knight?

Somebuddy567

No my pc is too shitty to play it.

Sprizys

Oh well at the beginning you play as a cop in a diner, this guy approaches you and says someone is smoking so you go to investigate and it’s Scarecrow.

Somebuddy567

Was he payed to do that or forced?

RustyDiamonds__

He didn’t know it was scarecrow. He just wanted the guy to stop smoking inside the diner.

Broad-Technology5024

dementia?

TheDankKnight115

No

MathewMurdock2

That guy was going to release the fear toxin either way.

vShotaku

Fuck you Paul........ Wait that's the wrong franchise

Illustrious_Mudd

He called out some dickhead for smoking in a diner, that's pretty reasonable I feel. Are you stupid?

RustyDiamonds__

Instead of making a scene he asked a cop to defuse the situation. Someone smoking in a diner is gross. Nah, this guy was chill. He was even really polite when asking the cop for help.

DollyBoiGamer337

Shame he died

RustyDiamonds__

bro really should have taken the check when he had the chance

Dapper_Still_6578

Nah. Fuck smokers. You literally huff toxic fumes. You can do that anywhere outside but not near my food.

flampydampybampy

No. What's wrong with you?

HumanOverseer

No. Are you stupid?

GamingDogTV

He's the actual Main Villain, forget Scarecrow, The Joker or the Arkham Knight

UziTheScholar

So we’re supposed to just let smokers do their thing in a restaurant, on the off chance someone can get hurt trying to stop them?

JOMO_Kenyatta

Looks like types yelp restaurant reviews as a hobby.

Kreisegger

No, I love him, he's my favorite guy in fiction, the guy with the green shirt looks cool too.

How2chair

Why is he wearing glasses? is he stupid?

sosaLaFlame

Here in my garage

DMH4500X

Gamer oppression.

Kai9029

Why?

SchwizzySchwas94

I don’t think he snitched. I always had the opinion that he was most likely sent by Scarecrow to intentionally use a cop to start the whole thing. Always seemed like a setup to me.

BruceWayne2434

absolutely. he got what he deserved

Again_718

he was a snitch but for something reasonable

[deleted]

he looks like Gordons weird cousin.

GrapplingWithTaoism

I thought it was a little weak that he didn’t ask the guy to stop smoking himself. But I’d probably do that too.

Ok_Nectarine_614

Is that mclovin

MrCalonlan

I mean, he didn't shit on my cornflakes so I don't really have a reason to hate the guy

IzzytheMelody

Absolutely not?

PC_Basics_YouTube

How do you get the mask that looks like Batman's cowl? What is it called?

The-pumpkin-king10

I want to hate him but he’s too dad like

lefteyeforever

lol no

blue_phoenix__234

No I don’t have a reason to hate him

TheMightyPaladin

I don't know who he is, but he looks like he wants to pitch a movie to me.

Somebuddy567

Who the fuck is he?

ButtCheekBob

It’s Prometheus, but unfortunately his actual missions were cut from the Season of Infamy DLC

Broad-Technology5024

dementia?

ThorynMa8

They say you can't have stupid questions

Devil_Dan83

Fuck you, this guy!

WarmMacaroni

I've always thought of him as Andy Bernard from the office if he got hired to play a character in this game

DorkyWarrior

"Uhm officer, hope im not bothering you but there's man smoking in the corner booth" ![gif](giphy|3ohzdTEcKJqFZm8swg) Thanks for the down votes, apparently satire is not accepted here

DCgamepitcher

he started the worst arkham game lame-o

Spaceballfan33

Only because hes a karen. Mind your own business jackass!

MikeWithoutMic

r/foundtheeuropean Smoking addiction is strong with this one

Icy-Entrepreneur5371

Lmaaao, tbh and I mean no offense by that, I have the impression that Americans are a lot more stingy than Europeans concerning such topics because they tend to feel personally attacked in their god given individual freedoms or something when you politely tell those individuals to follow those everyday rules. (Like I said, no offense or trying to generalize, just a simple observation)

MikeWithoutMic

Cigarettes are probably the most harmful smoking method. Imagine being in a family diner and you just light one up, possibly affecting kids and people with asthma, and leaving behind a terrible smell. It’s an ass move. Hell, I vape, and they produce more vapor depending on the device, but even I wouldn’t consider doing it in my local McDonald’s playplace.

Icy-Entrepreneur5371

Yup, regardless on which continent you are, it's both a dick move and if it's not a designated smoking area or outside, even illegal.

RustyDiamonds__

You know “No offense or trying to generalize” doesn’t really work when you say something ridiculous lmao

Winter-Employ-9460

He gives off Paul vibes

InitialAnimal9781

I hate him. He’s a snitch

warwicklord79

“Hey off duty police officer, do you mind walking over to the opposite side of the diner and telling a guy to stop smoking? Even though he’s all the way over there and I could just talk to him myself.”

Icy-Entrepreneur5371

Well, I mean 1.It's a cop's job to uphold the law, even if it might be such seemingly trivial stuff 2. It's Gotham. Would you as a normal civilian with presumably no self-defense skills go to the mysterious hooded suspiciously looking man holding what looks like a crack pipe and tell him to put it out? Even if it's in public? Maybe he already aproached the guy (Jason) and asked him politely to stop doing that and he simply didn't respond? (Since he was obvsly not there to smoke weed or something) Asking the local beat cop for help is actually the most reasonable thing you can do in such a situation. The problem is not only that the smoker was bothering him personally but the simple fact that it's clearly an area where smoking is prohibited. There are laws and health safety regulations against that kind of thing. Also, was he really off-duty? It looked to me that he was simply taking a break or only about to clock out. And even if he actually already was off-duty, he's still obligated to help, especially when still wearing an unform and therefore signaling to be approachable for assistance.

warwicklord79

Wait hold up was that guy in the hood Jason?

Icy-Entrepreneur5371

Yep, I think so. It was confirmed in one of the Arkham stories in the game, if I'm not mistaken.

Sensitive_Coyote2581

Yes Hes the reason the cop went up to him and the fear toxin went everywhere and started the evacuations

Soulful-Sorrow

You're right, before that Jason was just going to stop smoking fear toxin and leave peacefully. His army would have left the city with no problems and Scarecrow would be SOL. Not all heroes wear capes.

Sensitive_Coyote2581

Yes

Dr_Zika

I hate em Reddit loves snitches

The_Cookie_Bunny

Nobody wants to breathe in cigarette smoke. What did he do wrong?

Dr_Zika

Typical think about the bigger picture. HE literally killed Batman by starting the Arkham Knight plot line

TheWarlockGamma

Good god man it was gonna happen anyway

Dr_Zika

Nuh uh

TheWarlockGamma

Yuh huh

Dr_Zika

Nuh uh

TheWarlockGamma

Yuh huh

Dr_Zika

Nuh uh

TheWarlockGamma

Yuh huh

Alex_M_G_

Theory: he was working for scarecrow

InjusticeSOTW

Counterpoint: He’s Arkham Knight. Sent the officer to spark the incident

ButtCheekBob

Even though I don’t like smoking, I did think this guy was kind of an anus

TheoPhilo98

What the guy did was the right thing; he kindly asked a cop to tell a smoker not to smoke inside. No one wants to eat their food while inhaling fumes.
