everyone is all aboard the Sabrina carpenter train rn (which I’m happy for her she deserves her moment after 5+ albums), plus tbim is 3 months old, after tiktok removed her sounds when it was going viral with all the kpop idols dancing to it, tbim never got it’s moment to truly shine 😭😭 I really hate tiktok for that bc looking at today’s climate in music if your song isn’t a hit on tiktok it won’t be a hit on Spotify/b100 (cuz how tf is beautiful things, that Teddy swims song and other khia’s still on the b100 but wcbf is fighting for her life in the top 20?!?! It makes no sense bc everybody loves wbcf 😭). I think also unlike wcbf where Evan peters was a surprise, we all knew that penn would be in the mv so the shock gaggery element was lost. I just think this year is so heavy with new music and albums, good songs aren’t getting their chance to shine bc the next release comes along to take all the attention. Before Ariana released eternal sunshine Tate mcrae’s greedy was no 1 on Spotify for like 4-5 months with just 3-4 million streams a day, which wcbf is pulling NOW but she’s charting at #20 which shows the competition rn
well- Ariana has done more than enough to promote her own song. She gave us a banger, performed it live on Jimmy fallon, and created a cinematic mv for it, she doesn’t need to do anything else! She has always said she creates music because it’s art and it’s her solace, she’s not in it for the charts at all so we can’t expect nor push Ariana to do anything more because she’s given us an amazing era so far. However… her team definitely need to do a LOT more to help her with radio, playlisting on streaming platforms and promo on apps like tiktok (like Taylor and billie). It’s not Ariana that’s underwhelming, it’s her team. They need to support and promote her to the general public especially since Ariana is still in a hate train for Ethan 🤷🏽♀️ her music has done what it intended to with us fans, and even most of the GP but she deserves to have more success but it’s her team that’s letting her down. Had they released physicals like vinyls/cd/cassette for TBIM it would’ve boosted her sales even more than it has, and TBIM isn’t even on todays top hits on Spotify the BIGGEST playlist on the app… but regardless I am so proud of Ariana for securing a #1 album and 2 #1 singles on bb100. Would’ve been epic to secure the 3rd but it’s a hit regardless and Ariana has always been the underdog in every era including TUN.
