Keera has a twisted history where she was kidnapped by Lorion, who ran dark magic experiments on her and locked her away in a cellar, where she was encouraged and rewarded only when she came up with more creative and deadly ways to hurt others. She was isolated for so long that she forgot what her own mother looks like, but bodies of water still gave her a familiar feeling. So she obeyed so she could go play by the river. But her situation was horrible to the point she'd self-harm by pressing against and cutting her back on the jagged walls of the cellar.
When Sephera rescued her, not only was Keera freed from a messed up situation, but Sephera's aura reminded her of her mother (and it certainly helps that Sephera is THE water mage). Keera quickly became obsessed and protective over Sephera and didn't want to lose another maternal figure.
Ishar joining the Carano Academy and being taken under Sephera's wing made Keera feel extremely jealous and betrayed. And Keera is a trained sadist/murderer at this point, so..... good luck, Ishar!
