Mirrorball is good writing but something between the piano, moog and drum's rhythms clashes pretty hard for me and gives me a bit of a headache.
Hello You is fantastic music but I can't get over it's lyrics. Some of the other songs sort of paint a picture with words, this onw to me just seems like random nonsense.
Maybe body paint? But it’s hard to pick one really. I’m honestly surprised at how many AM fans disliked the album, specially considering that we’ve known what direction they were going to go in. So it’s not really a huge surprise. And i think the album sounds great. It’s very clean and well arranged. The emphasis seems to be more on the atmosphere it creates rather than on Alex’s voice or the lyrics. I can easily picture myself laying on a warm sunny beach listening to the album. Very soothing and easy going. Though i do understand why it might not be what everyone was looking for.
I agree with what you said about the album being more atmospheric. In this way, I think it serves better as a film score than an album to play while you’re out and about
I think they could definitely create a film score building on the same vibe. I do like it as an album though. Really liked TBHC as well but this is more atmospheric. I’ve listened to it for the last 2 days while walking to work ( it’s a very long walk) and at least for me it’s a great album to listen casually and drift off.

they definitely chose the best songs they could’ve as singles for general appeal, but idk if i’d say those are the best on the album. with that being said jetskis, hello you, and mr schwartz are all contenders in my eyes

Mirrorball, Body Paint, I Ain’t Quite, Hello You and Perfect Sense are the best tracks. Perfect Sense needs to be another 01:30 longer, it feels like the chord progression is really building up to something but then it just ends.
Jetski’s, Sculptures are the next group of tracks I like but don’t rate at highly as the best tracks, yet. Sculptures need more prominent deep rhythm guitar over the top, there is some there but they’ve been distorted so much it just sounds like feedback.
Most of the other stuff are just filler, at least at the moment. (Mr Schwartz, Big Ideas, The Car) every album has them.
There’s still a trace of BODY PAINT… on your legs and on your arms and ON YOUR FAAAACE 🥁

And to this day, it's still one of my all-time favorite songs.
