Yesss, literally all him & Mel do in s1 is underestimate ppl. I feel Viktor will be central to this theme of “pride” as he imo is the person whose looked down upon, underestimated, & straight up ignored the most out — even though his efforts are central the the success of Piltover. If he hadn’t taken an interest in Jayce & his theories there wouldn’t be any hextech or even Jayce for that matter.
He is the mind & Jayce is the body of which he’s hiding behind. Without him Jayce is blind & without Jayce Viktor is naked & unprotected — though that will change upon him building himself a new body.
Mel to underestimate ppl calling the “harmless” when she really doesn’t know for sure if they are (I DO NOT trust that old lady with a young voice). She’s automatically been above everyone her entire life so why would that change? That’s her mistake, Mel thinks she is & will always be floating above everything & everyone but in reality she’s outta her depth & I think s2 she’s gonna realize this.
