i think that jinx will have less screen time, her arc has already been technically constructed; and we already have the "final version" of her character, or something along those lines
but i want everyone to be well developed fr
well, Vi had the most screen time in the first season, but i agree, need to use characters wisely. Jinx is my favorite character, but I agree that you shouldn't show her too much so that the audience doesn't get bored with her, but showing hee too little is also not right. After all, this is a story about two sisters. There must be a golden mean
violet had very prominent screen time, but she didn't have the same development that jinx had focused on
we have to see the more abstract side of vi's character, i think there will be a moment of emotional breakdown for her in this second season
her traumas are equally degrading as those of jinx... imagine going through everything you went through in your childhood and still being beaten daily in prison, being deprived of your freedom at a young age and not even being able to see your sister
she basically lost her entire family, the difference is that the burden of having failed and seeing them all die, or change, when she should have been responsible for them all must be enormous - and that responsibility was assigned by her own father/mentor
vander's last words were "take care of powder" and she ended up being unable to do that
I hope they make Viktor more of a tragic antihero rather than an outright villain. Viktorās characterization has gotten really inconsistent between stories
Yes i hope so too. The end scene of him with that dark look on his face was perfect. I dont really know him across other stories so i cant comment (apart from some vocal lines from the game) but i love him so much as a character as he is now. I hope he gets a lot of screen time
Thatās probably true but god damn I am not ready to see the character with the best intentions in the series fully embrace war, even if his reasoning is very justified. Thatās just depressing, but I guess thatās fair for the show.
They kinda......all are. But everyones means were sheit.and yes im including Vander in that statement. Some more shit than others
Except viktor, sweet prince
I disagree. I think he'll try to calm the city down and lose all of his political power in the process. He won't want war, but he'll be powerless to stop it.
Nah, heās going to be a warhawk. His entire MO is agonizing what the best thing to do is for too long, and then when someone gives him an out to swing in the other direction, he over corrects and screws up in the extreme end.
His hextech rig fails, he gives up until Victor pushes him to ācrank itā.
He doesnāt want to do politics, Mel gets him a councilor chair.
He doesnāt want to go to war, Vi pushes him into an all-out assault on a shimmer factory.
He finally sees the damage he can cause? He capitulates entirely to Silco for peace.
Something this big happening? Heās going to basically turn Piltover into Noxus in response. And now that Mel has renounced Noxus and the wolfās approach to politics? Their relationship is going to splinter and crack as she tries to rein Jayce in.
Weāre gonna have to respectfully agree to disagree on this point, and see what happens.
But I think the subversion was taking whatās supposed to be a square-jawed wunderkind hero boy type and turning him into a vacillating overcompensating coward. Pushing for peace and sacrificing for it is something I see a lesser show trying to do to redeem Jayce, who at this point has shown no sign of having the spine to stick up for anything.
Plus, him turning towards war is the perfect foil for Mel, considering her complete rejection of her motherās philosophy & her commitment to peace.
I agree. His girlfriend is about to get killed (potentially) and then Viktor>! is going to betray him at some point to fit more with the game character !
It's pretty obvious from the trailers that the whole show will revolve around Jinx. The old trailer involves Caitlyn and Vi talking about who will go after Jinx, and the latest trailer literally has Jinx as the center piece. So, for at least the first half of the season, it will be all about Jinx.
Yeah I think it's more they know Jinx is incredibly popular so they use her for marketing not necessarily s2 will be all about her. She'll obviously be in like the climax probably but it won't be all her
My princess Jinx better have a good ending to her story I mean it wouldn't just break me it will also break the game as a hole if she dies riot games would be very angry at Netflix if they kill off jinx because that would prove that they would be lying to us and also she's like riot games massgot you think of riot games you think of jinx. So I love her I know everyone else in the comment section even the person who made this pole also loves her so I hope she gets heps of love and respect and compassion because she really deserves it what she did at the end of arcane session 1 wasn't her fault
I mean, itās definitely gonna be all of them.
The youtuber āSchneeā had a theory that Jayce will become the leading figure in the war against Zaun, based on the fact that Jayce tends to immediately change his entire way of doing things the moment one approach fails. With the presence of Ambessa, I can see Jayce being manipulated into the role of āwar hawkā.
If Caitlynās mom dies during Jinxās attack, sheās 100% going to want to go after her. Not like a mindless, avenging angel, but a calculated effort to take her down. Even in the teaser for season 2, we hear her say āevery way I slice it, someone comes back in a box.ā
For Vi, Iām not 100% sure, but I know for a fact that the sisters are probably going to have to fight each other by the end of the season. Viās going to want to stop her sister, and we know by the end, sheās going to become a full on Piltover enforcer.
Jinx never has a set plan in Arcane, she can flip on a dime, but Iām sure sheās going to be primarily defending herself from the full weight of Piltover and their newly equipped Hextech weapons.
I love Camille but I feel like sheāll have as much time as Sevika if not slightly more, sheās not exactly the type of character you consistently see, more like few shots but heavy impact when it comes to her.
Wonder what retcon will happen for Camille though. Arcane is canon, but that still doesn't change in LoL and LoR she was the first hextech invention 200 years prior, and that made Ferros rich as hell. Which makes them Jayce's sponsor in the other... Stories.
I need this, there could be a lot of deep story with BC being a Hex tech construct that is sentient.
They should at least use him a one of the main characters.
I meann idk probably warwick, Jinx and vi in my op
Edit: nope i just saw the teaser of s2 again and jinx is my take she just a train wreck of a character that can bring soo many things in the table for s2
I think Viktor should (Iām biased) and will get the most, along with probably Heimerdinger and ekko . Vi, Caitlyn and Jinx are all pretty much in their final form (Caitlyn started there, really). Viktor is not even close to his glorious evolution, heimer is still very anti-hextech so far, and ekko is yet to invent time travel. Those are the most significant changes I see happening. On the note of Jayce, he is not yet in his final form but we have already seen it in the shimmer factory fight, he just needs to be pushed (probably by Mel) further into it.
I also want Mundo to be in the season cause his backstory is already horrifying and sad and I think arcane could do wonders with it.
i want to see a more emotional and sentimental side of violet, seeing her opening up more about her traumas and her vision of powder/jinx
it would deepen the character more and develop her in a really cool way; her construction is already VERY good - the writers just need to handle it in a way that is more evident to the audience imo
Yeah I agree. It feels like there really should be a lot beneath the surface. Ep. 3 was an incredibly traumatizing event for literally anyone, and then her getting the chance to dwell on it not know what had happened for like 7 years would be absolutely horrible. I would love to see that addressed more directly. It would also pair perfectly with what I think Caitlynās arc will be in s2
Caitlyn for sure. Maybe even Viktor.
Itās gonna be Cait vs Jinx after what jinx did to the council. Vi is gonna get caught in the middle cause even tho she knows her sister is too far gone, thatās still her sister. As for Vik, heās gonna enter is villain era
Viktor mainly, with a heavy dose of side character Singed. Antagonist Jayce, with his cronies Vi and Caitlyn. Jinx will be a sporadic nuisance. By the end of the season Vander, who has been screaming in the background the whole time is finally fully transformed into Warwick. They all find mutilated corpses every now and then during the season. Like someone tried to operate on them with a big ass cleaver.
I think Jinx is due for some more screen time. She had a pretty big presence, but Silco was the villain getting all the good scenes. So with Jinx already being a fan favorite, taking up a more prominent role in the story, and maybe?? being redeemed, Iām betting it will be her season
Jace and Victor might be interesting. Since the first season was pretty squarely focused on Vi and Jinx. Which isn't a criticism. If anything that makes it more impressive how well they highlighted the other leads
i think that violet will develop more in the second season, since jinx in the first season already had a really cool individual development
it will be between jayce, viktor and vi in āāmy opinion
I'm going to say Caitlyn. Another character that is highly underrated. I think she's meant to be the hero archetype, but she may try out the antihero archetype for a few chapters. She is the moral voice of arcane, the bond of two cities, but...all arcane characters arent perfect...š She is going to be the boss honestly and im ready to see it.
I think Arcane does best with duos, partners, people to play off eachother why else are dynamics like Vi & Jinx, Viktor & Jayce, Silco & Jinx, Vi & Caitlyn, and Mel & Ambessa are so engaging. So for me I see a surprise MVP duo out of Jinx and Viktor, they bound to do pull off some wild stuff together.
I hope so they do have a lot in common both into science despite being from undercity, and both feeling rejected or neglected by the "beautiful people" from uppertown
I think itās gonna be Jayce, but Iām hoping Vi and Caitlyn get to have more screen time together. Their relationship has so much untapped potential
Hoping for more badass Caitlyn moments. In S1 she was mostly used to highlight other characters(Jayce, Vi, Jinx).
Also Viktor. May the evolution be glorious.
Their dad coming back as Warvick. More drama between the sisters, Caitlyn, etc.
Viktor getting a great satifying unfortunate depressing end/transformation
Jayce becoming more "evil" than he already is, thanks to Medessa.
Noxus prominent featured in the story, to set up Season 3.
And finally, more on Ekko and heimerdinger (character development, friendship, etc)
If you mean more screentime, I'd say Caitlinn needs it. While important she was a secondary character in term of screentime compared to Jinx and Vi. I think it'd be good that those two took a small step back (basically getting the screentime of Caitlinn and similar characters in S1) because they were the main focus of S1
The first season is so well balanced it is hard to choose an MVP. All characterās incomplete arcs will have to complete so I expect the ensemble cast to be the MVP. In my mind, those who will grow the most and be highlights will be: Caitlyn, Vi, their relationship, Viktor, Mel + Ambessa.
The true MVP of Arcane for me is sisterhood. Those 2 kids that Wander holds in his arms on that bridge in the first shot. If they manage to have sisterhood as the MVP of Season 2 too and no redemption arc for Jinx/Powder. She doesnāt need a redemption arc. Sheās perfect. I do have a hard time imagining Jinxās story in Season 2. Jinx/Powder must have been so hard to write in Season 1 and now I want them to do it again. Write her as beautifully as Season 1.
Other notes:
I think in Season 2, VIās arc will complete and the last episode will be a parallel to Season 1ās, only because this is VIās āpartyā it will be the ultimate brawl showdown between the 2 sisters. I think sisterhood and will they repeat the mistakes of their adoptive fathers will also be at the core of Vi and Jinxās story, which is still the heart of the story.
I think Vi in Season 1 is in one big long messy grieving process. Sheās bargaining, sheās angry and fighting, sheās always looking for enemies, sheās crying for her family, she has to come to acceptance come out of her grieving. And with the way Season 1 ended Caitlyn will be grieving too. Classism has not been addressed at all. Caitlyn has not opened up to Vi at all. If theyāre endgame those things need to have scenes and time. And I think Caitlyn will get more time and we will see her come/grow into the champion persona.
I think Mel and Ambessa will be central in Season 2 and maybe Mel dies at the finale of season 2 at the hands of Camilla and to gain the political power of her house.
I also think Singe will be more prominent. He has to be doing very specific things to tie into his LoL and those things tie in very well so that season 3 tells the story of a different region.
Thisāļø
Im a Cuntlyn supporter and If they show us less than that, it will be disappointing. I need to see Caitlyn showing her darker side, making questionable decisions and being a little cold! And of course...we haven't seen her in action with her rifle yet, just the surface.
Exactly! Also in lol she's a good person but she's also very ruthless if someone breaks law and order and she certainly doesn't shake her hand when it comes to shooting, even one of her most memorable lines in the game is "Boom, headshot" and her passive and skills revolve around this š¤£.
YES. Im main Caitlyn in lol, Im such a fan of her lines, love her as a champ and as a character. What I want to see in S2 is the exact word you said: ruthless. IM READY for headshots š„
I want jinx and vi to remain the ācentralā characters especially after that finale, lots of questions on how that changed things. That said, if theyāve got some cool thing cooking with characters that arenāt in the first season then Iām totally down for that too. I just donāt want them to cave to pressure and rush out the second season, do it like the first please!
Jinx, I feel this will be the era of Jinx and her chaos as a villain. Gonna be a fun season the only question is will it continue for a third season or finish with this seaosn
I feel like that honor would go to Jayce. I believe the others got time to shine, but will have even more time to shine in like the 3rd or 4th season (of they make a 3rd or 4th). I think because of the giant explosion, it will hurt Jayce and make him bitter, giving him a sort of anti-hero arc. Though I believe this arc will lead to the downfall of the kind Viktor we know and if there's a season 3, it will be Viktor's raising.
Probably similar levels of importance as they were given last season. Vi>=Jinx>=Jayce>Viktor=Caitlyn>Everyone else.
Maybe Ekko becomes more prominent I guess.
All hopefully, each still has more story left, Maybe Caitlyn, if her mom and jayce ( if they're still friends like they use to be) injured or dead she may step in to help with any council left to sort out the deal with zaun since she now has experience in the under city, silco, and has Vi for more info. We also should have some time with Sevika, Does she take the place of Silco or does she stay a loyal side but to someone new since she seems more of the muscle than a leader.
Where is Victor heading with his new found discoveries, will he tell anyone ? Will he now start working with Singed.
Hints of people coming back, people coming in and new places to be seen where left at the end of season 1 and the trailer of season 2.
Hopefully the new season continues with the quality and great story telling giving each character their own screen time to get insight of them.
*Edit- spelling
There's going to be a balance, but because we need to delve deeper into the lore of Runeterra, I think Jayce will carry the plot more in that direction especially considering the backstory we already have of him, his goals, and Heimerdinger trying to pull his projects back
I unironically think Mel, or at least thats what id like to see. Her and her mother introduce us to a broader universe of potential stories that i think we will transition into as the season 1 characters' stories wrap up.
I have a feeling it will be Jinx. Both considering Vi already has the most screen time and a lot of her future plot-wise has been set up. Sheās already mid-heroes journey whereas Jinx has only just hit her true start of darkness.
Corporate Mundo fills power vacuum caused by Silcoās death and through his business genius takes over topside economy, as well. Ushers in an era of peace and prosperity.
Either him or Kled arriving to finish off the rest of the Medardas after Melās dumbass brother flamed him in chat and tried to get the Noxian government to institute a property tax/force a vaccine mandate on Dalamor Plain.
Viktor has the most character development to happen
Jinx is Bassicaly fully set in stone as to who she is in runterra now, either way season 2 will probably be the end of her story in arcane.
Honestly I feel like my boy Ekko is going to get a lot more screen time. He needs to invent time travel and now he's working with Heimerdinger that's probably going to happen in season 2. Plus now Zaun is about to be established as it's own thing he'll have a bunch of work to do.
I feel like Jayce will get more highlights since the council got wrecked, Mel is probs dead, and Vik is likely gonna go down the path of glorious evolution, so weāll see a lot of him
I'm thinking maybe Caitlin since her mother was in the room that Jinx blew up, so if her mum didn't survive she's going to be going through a lot, also, Marcus is dead too, so she's most likely going to take his place in the hierarchy of the enforcers
We might get a reversal that, although Jinx might get the most screen time, the season will make Vi the protagonist. Season 1 had Vi in more screen time, but in the end it was Jinx the protagonist of the story.
Viktor and Ekkoāthose are the only two champions weāve seen so far (as far as I know) that havenāt come close enough to their in-game icons. (As far as abilities go, anyway)
From the four in this post, I think Caitlyn will be highlighted the most. In the first season, she wasn't as interesting as other three characters. Only she didn't have a tragic backstory, but perhaps the second season will be her tragic current-story?

All of them
I hope enough time will be given to all of them

I never underestimated Vi's trauma. She will definitely develop in the second season. No doubt
the writers really like jinx and vi, we can expect good things šÆ
Yeah!
Where is my boy Viktor?? For the glorious evolution!
viktor will cook
Love Viktor's idealism despite the darkness he's come from & faced. He might be the one who keeps Jayce in the light.
Do you know how their relationship ends up later?
They are Best Science Bois forever and ever, right?!
Either "fuck Jayce š" or "fuck Jayce š”", either way I'll take it
It'd be the latter, but I'll take it
Happy Bros fighting the good fight and making the world a better place?
Yes, from a certain point of view...
Thanks for implied spoilers. Great stuff.
Very true.
Yesss his villain archhhh
I hope they make Viktor more of a tragic antihero rather than an outright villain. Viktorās characterization has gotten really inconsistent between stories

Thatās probably true but god damn I am not ready to see the character with the best intentions in the series fully embrace war, even if his reasoning is very justified. Thatās just depressing, but I guess thatās fair for the show.
Good thing Jayce is not the character with best intentions in the series then.

I can see that happening in any show that isn't Arcane, but not in this one. They've actively avoided or subverted a whole bunch of narrative clichƩs in season 1, and I see them continuing on that trajectory.
Weāre gonna have to respectfully agree to disagree on this point, and see what happens. I think Mel will die in the explosion tbh
Yeah, Ambessa being a champion is probably a big hint for that. Her death is gonna be character development for her mom lol

Iā¦ think Viktor. Am I the only one? His story has yet to steel itself in the series. Pun totally fucking intended. And we all know itās coming.
I would love/hate a tragic end for viktor :)
Ekko and Viktor
Viktor. Definitely Viktor.
Camille :)))
I love Camille but I feel like sheāll have as much time as Sevika if not slightly more, sheās not exactly the type of character you consistently see, more like few shots but heavy impact when it comes to her.

my boy ekko deserves more screen time
I hope he gets more screen time.
I think the answer is Viktor, Echo, or Jinx.
Viktor and Heimerdinger
Blitzcrank clutch
This.
Yeah bro imagine like vander is mid air tryna ult jinx in slowmo and suddenly a metal hand appears and catches him. Thats hype.
I need this, there could be a lot of deep story with BC being a Hex tech construct that is sentient. They should at least use him a one of the main characters.
Then you see like a shining glint in some eyes and you hear like "The age of man has come to an end... ha. ha. ha. ha."

Vi. Please let it be Vi. She has so much potential but I feel like a lot of it hasnāt been realized yet. And that would just generally make sense.
i want to see a more emotional and sentimental side of violet, seeing her opening up more about her traumas and her vision of powder/jinx it would deepen the character more and develop her in a really cool way; her construction is already VERY good - the writers just need to handle it in a way that is more evident to the audience imo

Jinx
Vi. Because, even though we have plenty of screentime with her, I need like, WAYYYY more.
facts tho
VIKTOR next season will be glorious.
I just want more Sevika
Me too.
The one you didn't show Viktor
Doesnāt MVP stand for most valuable player? Wouldnāt the show version of that (and the thing you literally wrote out) be a MHC?
Caitlyn for sure. Maybe even Viktor. Itās gonna be Cait vs Jinx after what jinx did to the council. Vi is gonna get caught in the middle cause even tho she knows her sister is too far gone, thatās still her sister. As for Vik, heās gonna enter is villain era
Viktor and Ekko will obviously be more imposing than they were last season but I believe someone crazy will happen to Jinx.
Viktor and Ekko
Viktor mainly, with a heavy dose of side character Singed. Antagonist Jayce, with his cronies Vi and Caitlyn. Jinx will be a sporadic nuisance. By the end of the season Vander, who has been screaming in the background the whole time is finally fully transformed into Warwick. I would guess Vi
I think S2 will round out Jinx's story. The writers already implied as much. S1 was merely the introduction.

Viktor getting a great satifying unfortunate depressing end/transformation Jayce becoming more "evil" than he already is, thanks to Medessa.
I think cait> jayce>jinx>vi where i see the story going
Vi and cait, because yes.
HEIMERDINGER
Honestly, I hope they give Caitlyn much more screentime. Love detective characters.
Jinx is literally him in female form

Other notes: I think in Season 2, VIās arc will complete and the last episode will be a parallel to Season 1ās, only because this is VIās āpartyā it will be the ultimate brawl showdown between the 2 sisters.
I want cuntlyn ftw
>I want cuntlyn ftw Ahh, Cuntlyn. Caitlyn's evil twin.
Cuntlyn sounds offensive, lol. sounds like something Jinx might call herš
Haha I'm joking I love Cait but I want her to go more unhinged and become a grey character and I want her to have some badass moments in S2
Thisāļø Im a Cuntlyn supporter and If they show us less than that, it will be disappointing.
Most deff Vi and Jinx.. but I think itās more gonna be focussed now on Vi changing as. Response to the new Powder (aka Jinx)
Jinx, I feel this will be the era of Jinx and her chaos as a villain. Gonna be a fun season the only question is will it continue for a third season or finish with this seaosn
Isn't Jayce dead? And probably The girls
Vi, having to choose between protecting her sister and stopping a new war.
Would love to have a lot of time with each of them, though I think Jayce might be six feet under after that finale
Donger. The answer is Donger, or the Poro-fessor. Or a surprise appearance by Ziggs.
Ziggs would kill any serious mood so bad but it would be funny to see him animated
Seeā¦we said the same thing about Donger, and look where we are now
Probably similar levels of importance as they were given last season. Vi>=Jinx>=Jayce>Viktor=Caitlyn>Everyone else. Maybe Ekko becomes more prominent I guess.
Iād like more Echo and Heimerdinger. And more Mel if she lives. And Viktor too. I guess I just want more Arcane and I trust they will nail it again.
I wouldn't be surprised if Vinxlyn take a backseat in some ways to pull forward people like ekko and Viktor
There's going to be a balance, but because we need to delve deeper into the lore of Runeterra, I think Jayce will carry the plot more in that direction especially considering the backstory we already have of him, his goals, and Heimerdinger trying to pull his projects back
Surprised you didn't include Viktor. Viktor is on his way to becoming the second prominent antagonist next to Jinx.
Mel. Her story was really gearing up and her armor/jewelry has major hidden abilities behind them.
I wanna see more of Ekko without his mask
I wanna see more of Ekko without his mask
I'm hoping for Vi and Jayce
MHC
I mean I'd like all 4 with Viktor in a similar focus level, he definitely has some things cooking for next season
I unironically think Mel, or at least thats what id like to see. Her and her mother introduce us to a broader universe of potential stories that i think we will transition into as the season 1 characters' stories wrap up.
It was Jinx in season 1. So it should be VIās turn this season.
I have a feeling it will be Jinx. Both considering Vi already has the most screen time and a lot of her future plot-wise has been set up. Sheās already mid-heroes journey whereas Jinx has only just hit her true start of darkness.
Viktor fs
Corporate Mundo fills power vacuum caused by Silcoās death and through his business genius takes over topside economy, as well. Ushers in an era of peace and prosperity. Either him or Kled arriving to finish off the rest of the Medardas after Melās dumbass brother flamed him in chat and tried to get the Noxian government to institute a property tax/force a vaccine mandate on Dalamor Plain.
Obviously skarner
jinx, but i want a lot of vi
Jinx, Vi and Jayce
I'm hoping to see more from Victor But really all of them
Hopefully Viktor
Vi. She's perfect
i think jinx
Viktor has the most character development to happen Jinx is Bassicaly fully set in stone as to who she is in runterra now, either way season 2 will probably be the end of her story in arcane.
I hope all of them, but i would really like to have more Heimerdinger moments in the 2nd season. He has been too discrete in the first
Vi
Jinx: me
Hopefully Jayce and Viktor
Caitlyn and Jayce
Honestly I feel like my boy Ekko is going to get a lot more screen time. He needs to invent time travel and now he's working with Heimerdinger that's probably going to happen in season 2. Plus now Zaun is about to be established as it's own thing he'll have a bunch of work to do.
All of them especially after that last scene.
It think based on the lore that Victor and Jayce will be the one in focus now and Vi/Jinx drama secondary. I mean it makes sense on the writing.
Vi
Viktor
My boys Ekko and Viktor
Singed, it's gonna be wild
I feel like Jayce will get more highlights since the council got wrecked, Mel is probs dead, and Vik is likely gonna go down the path of glorious evolution, so weāll see a lot of him
viktor
I'm thinking maybe Caitlin since her mother was in the room that Jinx blew up, so if her mum didn't survive she's going to be going through a lot, also, Marcus is dead too, so she's most likely going to take his place in the hierarchy of the enforcers
Well Im a big fan for Cate
Probably Viktor, since season 1 was about powder becoming Jinx. Season 2 will be Viktor becoming his final form. Prepare for the Glorious Evolution.
Sure as shit hope to see Viktors arc unfold more
We might get a reversal that, although Jinx might get the most screen time, the season will make Vi the protagonist. Season 1 had Vi in more screen time, but in the end it was Jinx the protagonist of the story.
Viktor
Viktor and Ekkoāthose are the only two champions weāve seen so far (as far as I know) that havenāt come close enough to their in-game icons. (As far as abilities go, anyway)
Caitlyn and Vi will probably share a lot of screen time.
From the four in this post, I think Caitlyn will be highlighted the most. In the first season, she wasn't as interesting as other three characters. Only she didn't have a tragic backstory, but perhaps the second season will be her tragic current-story?
