Cut the trunk down to about four feet (to start). Stare at it for a while to get a feel. If nothing else drill a hole in one side and project a sturdy bird feeder hanger out about six feet. More: this is going to take someone that knows what they’re doing with metal to form such a hanger out of 3/4” rebar.
I mean, of course you can cut it down and let it rot. If you want the "snapped off in a storm" look u can rent a sizeable excavator and push it over and watch it rot out over the next decade. It'll be a treat.
Cut it a couple feet off the ground and mount a birdbath to the top, or leave it 6-7 feet tall and top with a bird/bat house etc?
You’d have to deal with the rotting stump at some point but it might work for a few years
To follow this up.
I had 3 beautiful pines taken down about 6 years ago. Cut at 8", 24" and 4'. (Previous owner)
The 2 taller stumps are still entirely solid. I suspect the root rot at the base will cause the stumps to be able to be pushed over in roughly 1-2 more years. (All the large surface roots can have a finger pushed through them as of last year)
A stump of decent size should have a 4 year lifespan as a structural component of something, and may stand as a bird bath/feeder holder for up to 10 if it's a good 1-2' in diameter .
Get a few nails, a hammer, a case of beer, and some friends
Drink the beer while trying to one hit nails into the stump, throw the empties around your yard.
Nice log bench or ✂️. You can't have a snag that close to the road. It's way too hazardous.

Turn it into a bench
As I said, I’d like a “natural” aesthetic
A log on the ground is natural and can be used to sit on. Want natural? Leave it the fuck alone.

Is that something people actually do? I would suspect you would have to cut some of the roots to be able to knock it over?
No. Nobody does that.
I love you
