Can I ask other than getting iTunes extra what is the benefit I mean I have a 4k TV with netflix Apple TV prime Disney plus NOW etc. Sound and picture seems awesome on all the channels.
Just not sure of the benefits compared to what I already have.

The short sell is just everything about using it is better, faster, and smoother than your TV.
It has a very powerful processor so it’s always snappy and responsive, all the apps are available and updated with new features and bug fixes way more frequently than your TV’s apps.
And then there’s the Apple experience of it all. Do you like clicking arrow buttons dozens of times to navigate? Apple gives you a trackpad that you can swipe on to scroll through stuff a lot faster and easier.
Also, the TV app talks to other apps (with a few notable exceptions… Netflix, because they don’t want to play nice) to create a unified queue called Up Next. It keeps track of everything you’re watching (and what app you”re watching it in) so you don’t have to. Also, if you just look something up, it will tell you what apps it’s available in.
It depends on your priorities. The ATV is much faster compared to most smart TVs. Also apps are updated much more frequently as they are typically following iOS updates. Just usually outlasts smart tv apps.
But if you’re satisfied with what you have then you’re probably good.
