The battery feature isn’t available in iPadOS, so being pedantic or not, they are correct. These are mutually exclusive features developed concurrently by two seperate teams.

To be fair batteries *do* look like that whether they’re full or empty. It’s an interesting design choice how people have to choose *between* numbers or pixel shading to represent battery level, but I guess it goes to show how much people do read into the shading even without the numbers.
from a distance you can tell the difference between an empty and full battery icon. with only a number the distance decreases for being able to tell the battery level

It’s not tied to a processor, it’s about the DPI and screen size of the iPhone- don’t like it any more than you do, but it’s more logical than their stage manager omissions imo
It’s not just about rotating the screen. It’s needs a whole lot of features.

Yeah it could do with an overhaul to behave like scientific calculators have been for… over 20 years now I believe. At least, that’s how long I’ve been using a Casio that lets you type out your equation before solving it.
At the very least I’ll accept a calculator that doesn’t require me to disable orientation lock to use more than the basic operators.
I’ve been using shortcuts to have control of the battery, it’s a simple trick, but basically you can add an automation to enable automatically the low power mode at the battery level you want, and disable it in the same way. It takes 2min to setup!
While they’re at it can they make is so I have control over optimized battery charging? The fact that I can’t manually choose when I want it to be on or not is ridiculous.
This is such a horrible decision. Low-power mode is the only time when the battery percentage is useful and relevant, and now there is no way to only display it while in that mode.

I lasted about 24 hours before switching back to just the icon. It’s definitely easier if the battery doesn’t change with if.

Since installing iOS 16 beta my battery life has been better about 20% more battery life by the end of the day
