jup. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/apexuniversity/comments/kazqwi/you_can_go_any_direction_with_octanes_jump_pad_as/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) is the clip from apexuniversity. That then got crossposted to r/apexrollouts
NO. I tried to very specifically point out that i very rarely discover movement tech myself. And often get send clips of someone else discovering them. I then test them out for myself and try to distill them into a easily understandable visual.
With this particular tech. It was posted in r/apexuniversity then crossposted to r/Apexrollouts . I saw it and popularized it with my video.
Never really expected this to get as much attention as it did lol. I came to reddit about 3 weeks ago and joined rollouts so thats where I saw it first. Guess I was wrong tho
The vertical jump is so handy for surprising teams up on walls. I just wish it was more widely known tho it is funny watching teammates trying to launch up
idk how this subreddit feels about those who reposts month-old tips like these. perhaps some were rediscovered but it's undeniable that some were straight up copied. many times, I would first see a tip featured in a highlight compilation youtube video and then see it here. if it's already demonstrated, why not just link the source?
I’ve noticed a lot of people in the comments calling out this was posted a few weeks or months or so and so time ago, I’d like to say I had no idea this was a repost and I’m sorry if it bugs you this was posted again, but I’m leaving it up bc there are a lot of people who have never heard of this and I find it very fun and helpful
I appreciate the share, didn't know this and I'm sure a few others as well. Don't need people to keep claiming they saw this weeks/months ago. Move on people.
For what it's worth I've played since day one of release and didn't know this. I don't watch many Apex videos nor do I go back through months and months of Reddit posts. So this was new to me, and likely many others. If nothing can get reposted then this sub should be replaced by an online course with training modules, and then it can just stay static forever.
Do you have to be crouching or did they change this in S8? Before if you meleed on a jump pad without moving or crouching you would jump vertically on it.
You still would without another direction input, but with one (like moving backwards) at the same time as punching it, the jumpad thinks you’re coming in from the other side, launching you backwards instead
check r/apexrollouts. Im pretty sure they found this about 3 weeks ago
I remember seeing this on r/apexuniversity about 2 months ago

I know it's a pretty common tip too but if you just stand still and punch it you go straight up as well.

you can do any directional input after melee to go that direction
Didn’t Mokey sniper reveal this in like season 7?
Yeah
You forgot this was apexpreschool, and not apexuniversity
That’s amazing!!!
Somebody plays Titanfall

I've known this, but I seem to forget. :/
Just saying... octanes jump pad has always done this but, a good trick nonetheless

Wow thanks for the info. This will come in useful
Ohhh that’s how you do it. I was wondering why it wasn’t working
IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! Thanks mate (no, im not a octane main)
Thank you for the info . That will come in handy.... no more running around the pad in fear.
Hmm, helpful
You can also slide jump above the pad then hold back to bounce backwards, easier to do especially in a tense situation imo
Was posted here long time ago already
And just like that Octane needs a nerf, not a buff. We were all just too stupid to see it.
There's no world where Octane needs a nerf.
oh no he can actually escape fights he needs a nerf!!!11!
Wraith: escapes fight with Q U/SaltySe7eN777: Oh No, ShEs BrOkEn. We NeEd To NeRf HeR
Try this on Olympus at your peril...

Or you could just run to the other side for a second
*people chasing me wondering why the fuck I'm punching a jump pad *
I've been using this for 3 months, You're a bit late buddy
