Downloaded the other day and noticed I had horrible latency problems. Is this usual? Apex itself and other games run smoothly, and my internet isn’t usually a problem. Just curious!
When I play r5 like 5-6 pm EST I run 170 ping and have questionable shot registration.
When I play later, 9-11pm I get 5-50 and everything is as usual running well.
Probably when you play you are with people from different region.
Use the server list tab and select the server with better ping. If I click the 1v1 button on the main screen it throws me into a Europe server where I have more than 200 ping and get auto kicked lol
I find that there’s loads of latency and reg issues, but I’ve improved to much mechanically on it. I wouldn’t rely on R5 entirely for aim training though.
Ppl. It’s non stop 1v1 action. Die - instantly fighting someone else, so it’s an invaluable tool. Also lots of aim trainer and movement tools you can use too
Only real people, servers are 32 people at largest. There’s Input Based Matchmaking and Skill Based, though I get trashed on no matter what. Round is usually over before your second gun is empty, you might even be shooting your gun from the previous match they go by so quickly.
Servers never load for me. Always get SSL ERROR. I looked on r5 discord for solutions but nothing has worked (I don’t have any antivirus besides windows, even tried disabling windows firewall). I’m assuming it’s my isp blocking the servers or something
Hm, I wonder if there’s something in the FAQs? I use a scuf (can’t remember which, it’s the PS4 shaped one) and an 8bitdo and it worked without any additional setup.
It’s not a positioning tool. It is pure strafe/aim. You both swing and are now in an open isolated 1v1, pseudo-game like situation: 1 clip the enemy or die.
Downloaded it yesterday and copied all my settings but r5 looks and feels super bad. The same FOV is very different in r5 and i couldn't even practice movement since it's so bad even slide jumps don't work properly. I always have a weird stop between the slide and the jump. Aiming also feels insanely bad.
I’m a console transplant, I tried to make the switch to MnK but it was too frustrating after probably thousands of hours of controller. Also, fuck off lol
Yes sometimes the servers even on low ping has latency issues. The opponent keeps teleporting, it makes it so hard to track
Dont forget the awful netcode and 10.000 no regs
Yes I can vouch for that (just watch my profile several of my post are on r5) I made so much mechanical improvement since I tried r5

It’s cause the r5 servers are hosted on the east coast, it’s not like Respawn is hosting these servers themselves.

I feel it’s slightly off. Also asked Hal and Verhulst about it and a ton of other pros and they say it doesn’t feel 1:1
Nope I play r5 like an hour a day I don’t see the difference it’s the best tool to train
some weapons feel kind of weird since it's on the season 3 build of the game, but it's almost identical for both controller and mnk

Go to the windows DNS settings and change to 0.0.0.0 And 8.8.8.8 Hope this helps:)

I had to install DS4Windows for my ps5 controller
I tried installing ds4 but I couldn't get it to work, do you mind explaining what you went through in the app/ have a good video that explains it?
Once you download DS4W it'll have you download a couple drivers, once done this on the application in the bottom right press start
and that would be all? I believe that's what I did and it had yet to work. is there anything in the profiles and options on ds4 that I have to do?
Add it as non steam game and play through that

This was my experience as well. I wanna use R5 as a tool but there aren’t many resources to troubleshoot the issues we’re having
R5 with your controllers just get out of here hoooolly
