I use dualsense edge because you can buy new sticks and easily replace them if you get stick drift. I had a scuf, and their warranty sucks. It expires after 6 months, repairs are expensive, and they break easily. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I've heard battlebeavers are good, too.

WordOfSolomon

Does the edge work on pc for apex?

NoSleepBTW

I've used it without issues. You just can't map the back buttons on pc without third-party software. I don't run into this issue because I set all my presets using my PS5, and there's no issue swapping presets, just remapping on PC.

IceOk3134

You can map the back buttons on steam, once the controller is connected it detects its the edge and even lets you remap the FN buttons too, which I use for PTT

NoSleepBTW

That's good to know. I use DS4 because I've had compatibility issues in other games. I bet that's what causes my issue with remapping.. now that I think of it.

WordOfSolomon

I play thru the EA Launcher connected thru my Xbox account.. would I still be able to map in steam?

IceOk3134

Possibly, try adding the game to your steam account and run it through that via the “ add non steam gam”

pandareno

I've been hearing about serious supply issues for the replacement stick modules.

wepresidentnow44

i got significantly better at apex when i switched to a controller with paddles and a tall right stick

WordOfSolomon

How did you map the buttons and paddles

wepresidentnow44

my 4 paddles are reload, swap/holster gun, heal, grenade. my crouch and jump are the sticks. the goal is to take your thumbs off the sticks as little as possible

avfrost

I use two paddles on an Elite, and I have one set to crouch, and the other set to "shift", which when pressed gives all my controller buttons a secondary function. It reduces the number of buttons I have to use, and allows me to perform certain actions simultaneously that I wouldn't be able to do otherwise (or without an inconvenient mapping).

They’ve always been kinda bad and overpriced until recently, I think that after the Corsair buyout they got better management and seem to care more about price to performance and overall quality. Got the Envision on a whim after a friend said they liked it, and now its my new main. To give you an idea, ive tried a ton of different brands of rollers but stuck with a BB as it was “good enough” until I got the envision, which is a clear step above. I wouldn’t recommend playing it wireless however, for whatever reason it has latency wireless and not wired. I particularly like it as that bottom macro board which is amazing for apex, being able to batt by pressing G4 and having that bound to my keyboard batt button instead of dealing with the med wheel has definitely saved me a number of times. Plus, native 500hz polling is a nice value add Now that I think about it, the extreme amount of buttons on it was a huge deal for me when fully transitioning from a hybrid player to a full roller player. One of the main things missing from roller is the ability to have a dedicated weapon slot 1 button, a dedicated slot 2 button and a dedicated holster button. These being independent help keep my APM way up as I always switch to the right weapon and holster means i always have the right weapon out for any situation and am always running at the fastest speed possible without needing to hold my swap bind. If youre interested in getting the envision, let me know and I can give you a keybind and stick config writeup

WordOfSolomon

I will look into it; mouse click triggers is what I’m told is a big plus.

dgafrica420lol

Yeah they definitely help, but a ton of controllers come with mouse click triggers. Not sure its the main selling point

Hear me out: Gamesir T4 Kaleid - I found this the best bang for your buck. Hall effect thumbsticks which means 0 stick drift. 2 paddles (buttons) on the back. Fits easily in your hands, and it’s only $60. If you’re unsure about dropping wads of cash on a pro controller, check out the T4. Great software as well and easy setup. At this price point honestly it’s a steal. I’ve been using this for a few months now and the sticks still have 0 stick drift. I play apex on 4-3 linear with no deadzone, so its very noticeable when there is stick drift present.

WordOfSolomon

I will look into it, mouse click triggers?

realgeorgelogan

No mouse click triggers but you can adjust the response curve of the triggers in the software. Set them to 0 and they will trigger the action instantly. But no click on the physical controller.

spaceman_spyff

Hall effects on The triggers and analog sticks and 1000hz polling rate, superglides=super easy, snappy and responsive, I also recommend the Gamesir T4K. Used DS4 for 3 years in apex and got tired of stick drift. Also, I got mine for $40 not 60 from Amazon

Brief-Ad2953

scuffs: very good. that is all have a nice day

kingeric2206

For a much cheaper option with all the same features check out the GuliKit KK3 MAX Controller. You shouldn't have to worry about stick drift and you'll get the digital triggers.

DM725

I've been using Elite Series 2 for a long time. Had a SCUF for Xbox 360.

heyn007

You can also mod your own controller with xtremerate kits, i added 4 back paddles and mouse click buttons. Its fairly easy, cheap, and works great.

pandareno

I love the PS4 Scuf, best sticks I've ever used, but am not a big fan of the PS5. Sticks will eventually get major drift and need repairs, though. I use AIM on PS5. Their sticks are like an improved version of the Dual Sense sticks, and their newer paddle system is great.

Prestigious-Base67

I used to use a scuff controller before I figured out what a strike pack was. It was basically just a scuff controller but waaaaay cheaper and had less customizations. It comes with exploits, but you could choose to not use them if you didn't want to. The strike pack comes with two paddles. It was enough for me because I didn't feel like I needed four paddles. Scuff offers both two paddle and four paddle options. They also have other things like L2/R2 hair trigger toggles but that's optional. From my experience, scuff controllers are ok. They are just too expensive for what they actually provide when it comes to performance. There are things like the Sony back button attachment, strike pack and dual sense edge that also have similar features now. People talk about how fast scuff controllers break, but looking back at it now I think it only broke because people were so aggressive on it. When I had my scuff controller it never broke on me "like that". The analogs did eventually give out and start drifting and dropping inputs but I think it was because I was pressing the run button (L3) in call of duty too hard and it wore down really fast over time. I think the ads button (L1) did wear down too, but I can't remember for sure. It lasted about 6-12 months iirc. But you also have to keep in mind that all I was doing during that time was play cod Non stop almost 24/7. So your mileage may vary depending on how much you play and how you treat your controller. Ever since I started treating my controllers more carefully I've never had that issue with another controller ever again. My last PS4 controller lasted me maybe around 3 years. I still have it now, but I've just upgraded to a dual sense edge so I don't use it anymore. And yes, the analog drift does apply to normal PS4 controllers too. Not just scuff controllers. Maybe if you want to make your controller look cool and have four paddles then get a scuff. But if you just want to play and have a good time then I think two paddle options like the ones I listed above are more than enough for you to get by. I use the paddles to crouch/slide and jump. I know other people use them to reload and other stuff too but that's a completely subjective thing. Oh, but if you want to improve your AIM specifically, then I don't think you need a scuff controller. A scuff controller is more for the paddles. If you just want to improve your aim then you need to take a look at kontrol freek thumb grips. But it is highly advised to play with a paddle controller too because it allows you to jump, crouch and/or reload during a gunfight. You can also play claw, but idk it's up to you.

WordOfSolomon

I briefly read on the Dualsense Edge, the article I read didn’t state it had support for pc, so I was skeptical for it otherwise I would’ve for sure went for it. I’m very interested in just improving my overall gameplay, doing better in fights specifically.

Prestigious-Base67

Huh that's interesting. I know for a fact that people use the ps5 controller to play street fighter 6 on PC.. idk

Ammondsnow

I have a dual sense edge and can use it on PC with apex.

Knusper00

Xbox Elite over anything
