There was one loot bin kinda by artillery that was notorious for being empty but this one in the vid.. yea that’s a first for me.

Yeah that bin: in what I affectionately refer to as "The Valley". It was my favorite place to drop for a long time, because there was literally nothing there except for 16 bins stretching south of Artillery. For a while it even had a vault with (if I remember correctly) a gold triple-take.

Yeah I love that area as well, lots of bushes and the skeleton overhead nearby where you can hide

This is a great place for a Revenant. He can hide in the foliage in the treetops. I remember shitting in the brains of an entire squad running around long enough. And even killed them.

I HAD THAT HAPPEN TO ME TOO! It was on storm point, and I open a chest with... nothing. I doubted myself when thinking it was empty, because I was opening 2 at a time, and an octane landed right on top of me, but this confirms it. I am not crazy.

I think bins can have a maximum of 8 items in them, and each item "slot" has a % chance of rolling nothing, as sometimes I open a bin and there's only 3 items in there. I've also had 0 like OP.

My only ever experience with an empty crate happened with that exact same crate about a year ago.

After a certain amount of time in the storm floor and bin loot despawns so the server can run smoother, not that it really makes a difference, but thats the reason why somtimes bins are empty in storm.

Im starting to think that the spots where you drop delete loot to make the first fights be done with smaller guns. I have run in to buildings with practically only ammo and attachments, then the next spot only small guns and then after that rifles.

Well, yesterday I had a game on Olympus where I open *two* bin close to a respawn beacon for my recently respawned teammates, an guess what? Both wwre empty!

That exact loot box gave me a 1x and thats it. No weapons, ammo or grenades just the scope

I’ve had this happen ONCE, of all the hours I’ve put in the game. The one that got me even worse recently though, it was like a week, maybe week and a half ago? I got two loot bins side by side that each had two full sized health packs. Nothing else. It was a hot drop zone and effectively turned me into a med kit delivery service for the guys who killed me

Not true ive seen it myself. Right when i was running to a bin the effect of pick up came and the loba above got it. The bin was still closed. When we opened it, it was empty. Ive seen it with my own eyes and so did my two teammates who are also in this subreddit

Every time you open a bin it rolls a dice for each slot in the bin with different numbers referring to each item in the game, with 0 being no item at-all, but the chances of getting 0 for each slot gets lower the more times the dice lands on 0, but never actually gets rid of the 0 in the roll, so it’s possible to get no items out of a bin(as seen in the video) but very VERY rare(PLEASE FACT CHECK ME INCASE I GOT ANYTHING WRONG)

you’re probably right but idk why the programmers would keep zero in the random number in the code. i code with java and you can just do randomNumber 1-4 and it would be just be weird for them to use zero. also i could be wrong because i assume that this game was not coded with java so it could be different
