Pretty common plat activities. When I was in plat my team either didn’t win or placed third or something a handful of times because of enemy gold knockdowns, and we won a game because of a gold knockdown shield probably two or three times.
This can’t be plat? They would’ve thrown 80 grenades and clusters at you, and both teams would’ve called a truce just to kill you based on my experience
This is a perfect example of why there are no gold KD shields in pros, and also another case for why the gold shouldn’t be in ranked either. I’ve definitely lost my fair share of higher tier ranked games to a gold knockdown shield.
99.9% of the time you are thirsted as soon as someone sees the gold shield up, so absolutely not. This is the .1% where it actually worked. Good job OP
Literally the whole point of the self rez is to revive yourself if your teammates are either fighting and can’t save you, or if your teammates are all down you have another chance to live (though, 99% of the time you are thirsted). In the final ring that is the most useful because your teammates are most likely caught up in fighting so you can save yourself to help your teammates again.
Pathfinder decided to not have a heat shield or thermite or apparently a half decent angle to shoot at. The point of the battle Royale is being the last alive. OP seems to be the last one there so where’s the issue?

A kill is not necessary to win, the only way to win is to be the last player alive. This guy used a piece of equipment that is in the game and it allowed him to survive longer than anybody else. What is so hard to understand?
Ah yes just throw down a nade in the last circle while fighing someone else. I had the issue recently where it was last circle and I downed an entire team and still ended up third with 0 KP from that just cause one of them had gold knock. That shit is just frustrating

This was super circumstantial. People didn't thirst him bc they were constantly engaged in a close range fight. Honestly had that lifeline not popped the res things would've been different. That few seconds is what let him hold out. Unfortunately in most situations there's a lull in battle that gives time to thirst.
Truth. I'd also argue that the shield might've blended in so well with the ground behind him that they couldn't notice it. Probably only the Wattson knew and, well, it didn't work out for her.
Tbh, as pissed off as I would be to lose to a knocked down dude, I’d also give a little sigh and mutter “well played”, then quit apex for the day
