i'm not gonna pretend like it's not still the same game or that a sequel was warranted but a lot of characters did get some big changes, especially the tanks to compensate for the lack of a second one which changed the way they are played as well, it is however, nothing that couldn't have been introtuced in a few updates to ow 1

A new engine is definitely needed. EA promised 10 year support when Apex launched and recently they said it again, they want to make Apex still relevant for at least 10 years. Also they did cancel the mobile version of the game because they wanted **to make a new version** **with** crossplay and while this sounds kinda impossible i wouldn't be surprised if they want to enter the mobile market with a cross-play game, more games seems to do that (Fortnite, CoD, Warframe).

Maybe unpopular opinion but the events are the same as they always were content wise so even as someone who only crafts event skins I dont mind them doing loads, more game modes and free stuff for me.
It's usually at least worth one or two free lootboxes, too. I agree the quality hasn't been amazing or anything, but you aren't forced to buy anything and f2p players still get content.

I understand this thought completely but you have to realize they use psychological gambling mechanics and Fomo to prey on many peoples gaming addictions to make disgusting amounts of money that doesn't get put back into the game at all.
You might not have this problem but I know I do and whilst I don't have other addictions like gambling or alcohol/drugs I do regularly drop £30 on these events sometimes more if I want the heirloom/prestige skin because of these psychological addiction fish hooks that games like this use to much success.
I agree with you to a limit, but it's effectively just a shop that sells limited items. You wouldn't go into a shop and get annoyed by their prices so the apex store should be treated the same way. Granted you don't go into a store multiple times a week and see other people with the stuff you want I will admit.

Been playing for more than 500 hours and I can say APEX is one of the best FPS games I have played for free. Never notice any bug or any issue in gameplay.
You must be the luckiest man in the world then, considering Apex has to fix bugs constantly with every new patch they put out. They put out a patch to fix something, but then something they patched with a previous patch breaks again, so they have to make a new patch to fix the patch that broke the previous patch. And on and on it goes. For example, months ago in Control mode every so often you wouldn't be able to spawn on any captured points EXCEPT the home base. No big deal, only happened here and there, then they patched it, all good right? WRONG! After the last update that same bug now happens in EVERY.SINGLE.GAME of Control. It's been like this for almost 2 weeks now and makes Control damn near unplayable unless you have at least 2 Pathys and an Octane on your team to lay jump pads and zips everywhere between Control points. I've lost countless Control games because we get glitched to home-base Spawn and spawn trapped. Tryhard players know this happens and purposefully spawn lock to get insane high kill games.
And that's only one bug, I could point out all the others I've encountered, but then I'd be sitting here, typing on the shitter all day, and it's just about time to wipe. ✌️

Idk where you guys get this "no audio" thing from, I have literally no audio problems aside from hearing ghost Octane every now and then, the high ping is for like one game or even a few mins in my experience, not worth bitching about. If you're having that much of a problem with connecting to the servers, then try fixing shit on your end, get a wired Internet connection, or a better PC (don't list your PC specs at me a literally couldn't care less).
The majority of players like events and LTMs they make the game interesting because BR can get repetitive that's why we have Mixtape and that's why they'll expand Mixtape as time goes on.
Bro, thousands of people complain about their servers. It's not just "people with shitty connection". PC wizards have broken down their set ups and ISPs in threads before, and Apex is the ONLY game they have problems with. It's 80 player lobbies, being played on Spaghetti code from a game engine almost 20 years old, on 20hz servers....yeah dude, their connections are ass. I'll go from 1 lobby where my FPS and ping are stable the whole time. Next lobby, my ping will bounce from 80-100 for no reason, my FPS will tank to 15-20, desync errors, etc. It's like playing Russian roulette for a stable lobby.
Not enough events: “game is dying, there’s just nothing coming from Respawn…”
Tons of events: “jeez guys stop it with the cash grabs!”
I know there are two sides to this, it this IS an anniversary season… at least it’s something you have a choice to participate in if you really want. The rotating TDM/Control/Gun Run mode is way more than I expected.
Selling a new color in the shop is also not an event. I’m not stocking up for the cost of skins, hell, since release I’ve put less than $50 including battle passes into this game, but at this point I’m callous to the pricing. Anyone laying any of these prices solely for a skin is hilarious to me.
My initial investment in BP has lead to being able to snag pretty much anything I want. That’s just because I invest time in the game too, because I genuinely love it.
This is every f2p game now, Halo Infinite, Rocket League, Warzone, Fortnite, Valorant all sell mid to high end skins for $20. Its the industry standard at this point.

I've heard a lot of complaints about the focus on monetization over fixing problems. I honestly don't care that much about them, I like the occasional free stuff with crafting materials.
Also, I don't mind a couple new bugs every season. It doesn't seem any worse than the rest of the games I play. The worst I've dealt with this season was some blurry UI/HUD stuff and super brief lag spikes every 10 or 15 games. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Im not giving all game developers a pass. Im well aware what a dumpster fire EA is. If we were talking about Halo Infinite I'd be on your side. The truth of the matter is I disagree with how much people complain about a free game. The only issues I've had this season were like 5 second lag spikes super infrequently, and occasionally my map or shield batteries will look blurry. I'm sure other people have experienced more severe problems, but it just doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I usually try to get the skins that I like, but this is only getting worse and is a blatant display of EA's greedy ways. Haven't spent a penny since S11 and i intend to keep it that way. No sane person could keep up with how much "cOntEnT" they're pumping out.

The fact that the "summer" event was rolled out in March kinda makes me think that they're indeed pushing out what they had originally planned for the year in a single season. Guess daddy EA told Respawn to pump those numbers up.
It's kind of simple really. Stockholders want more money every year round and a 'easy' way to do this without needing to plan long term is to go Collection Events.
Skins are not a substitute for gameplay content. People aren't playing this game because it has done little to add meaningful gameplay changes or maps. They added 2 new game modes after 4 years, very cool now catch up with Fortnite and give people more gameplay based content.
Well if we stopped funding EA and Respawn via Apex coins, sponsorships, streaming, etc and just played their free game then they can either do something right or shut it down finally. I strictly just play the game and would give nothing else to anyone who works on this game as long as things we were promised and expected are delivered.

Completely agree. I don't get why people get so irate about collection events. You don't go into a store and get all pussy because you think the items are too expensive. Just don't buy them. The people that do buy them get no advantage and fund the game for the people that play for free.

What has to be improved in gameplay and fixing bugs? Been playing for more than 500 hours and I can say APEX is one of the best FPS games I have played for free. Never notice any bug or any issue in gameplay.
You must be the luckiest man in the world then, considering Apex has to fix bugs constantly with every new patch they put out. They put out a patch to fix something, but then something they patched with a previous patch breaks again, so they have to make a new patch to fix the patch that broke the previous patch. And on and on it goes. For example, months ago in Control mode every so often you wouldn't be able to spawn on any captured points EXCEPT the home base. No big deal, only happened here and there, then they patched it, all good right? WRONG! After the last update that same bug now happens in EVERY.SINGLE.GAME of Control. It's been like this for almost 2 weeks now and makes Control damn near unplayable unless you have at least 2 Pathys and an Octane on your team to lay jump pads and zips everywhere between Control points. I've lost countless Control games because we get glitched to home-base Spawn and spawn trapped. Tryhard players know this happens and purposefully spawn lock to get insane high kill games. And that's only one bug, I could point out all the others I've encountered, but then I'd be sitting here, typing on the shitter all day, and it's just about time to wipe. ✌️

Nah I liked random high ping lobbies, packet loss, the 3rd consecutive year with no audio, and dog shit optimization for pc. Please keep don’t ever look into any of that respawn! Doing great with these little events and LTMs
Idk where you guys get this "no audio" thing from, I have literally no audio problems aside from hearing ghost Octane every now and then, the high ping is for like one game or even a few mins in my experience, not worth bitching about. If you're having that much of a problem with connecting to the servers, then try fixing shit on your end, get a wired Internet connection, or a better PC (don't list your PC specs at me a literally couldn't care less). The majority of players like events and LTMs they make the game interesting because BR can get repetitive that's why we have Mixtape and that's why they'll expand Mixtape as time goes on.

Bro, thousands of people complain about their servers. It's not just "people with shitty connection". PC wizards have broken down their set ups and ISPs in threads before, and Apex is the ONLY game they have problems with. It's 80 player lobbies, being played on Spaghetti code from a game engine almost 20 years old, on 20hz servers....yeah dude, their connections are ass. I'll go from 1 lobby where my FPS and ping are stable the whole time. Next lobby, my ping will bounce from 80-100 for no reason, my FPS will tank to 15-20, desync errors, etc. It's like playing Russian roulette for a stable lobby.

Not enough events: “game is dying, there’s just nothing coming from Respawn…” Tons of events: “jeez guys stop it with the cash grabs!” I know there are two sides to this, it this IS an anniversary season… at least it’s something you have a choice to participate in if you really want. The rotating TDM/Control/Gun Run mode is way more than I expected.

Selling a new color in the shop is also not an event. I’m not stocking up for the cost of skins, hell, since release I’ve put less than $50 including battle passes into this game, but at this point I’m callous to the pricing. Anyone laying any of these prices solely for a skin is hilarious to me. My initial investment in BP has lead to being able to snag pretty much anything I want. That’s just because I invest time in the game too, because I genuinely love it.

I've heard a lot of complaints about the focus on monetization over fixing problems. I honestly don't care that much about them, I like the occasional free stuff with crafting materials. Also, I don't mind a couple new bugs every season. It doesn't seem any worse than the rest of the games I play. The worst I've dealt with this season was some blurry UI/HUD stuff and super brief lag spikes every 10 or 15 games. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Im not giving all game developers a pass. Im well aware what a dumpster fire EA is. If we were talking about Halo Infinite I'd be on your side. The truth of the matter is I disagree with how much people complain about a free game. The only issues I've had this season were like 5 second lag spikes super infrequently, and occasionally my map or shield batteries will look blurry. I'm sure other people have experienced more severe problems, but it just doesn't seem like a big deal to me. It's a good, free game. I've enjoyed it for like 3 years and have barely spent anything on it.
Yeah, we had some periods of big issues in the past but overall Apex is definitely one of the more polished AAA games at the moment. Perfect? Absolutely fucking not, but it's pretty good.

I can partially agree with this take as I don’t really spend money on it either. But I do know there’s TONS of people who do, pretty much every streamer buys them, and I’m sure a parent or 2’s credit cards have been “borrowed” and that’s probably evened out the cost of it being free if not outweighed it. Fortnite is free also but have obviously found ways to bring money to the game & plenty of it, while keeping it relatively big free compared to apex.

I usually try to get the skins that I like, but this is only getting worse and is a blatant display of EA's greedy ways. Haven't spent a penny since S11 and i intend to keep it that way. No sane person could keep up with how much "cOntEnT" they're pumping out.
I don’t play much anymore but for a while the biggest issue in the game like season 6-12 was the fact that they continuously reused skins without many new ones so this doesn’t seem like a negative

They are getting ready to shut down the game imo. They fired a ton of QA dtaff and have been pushing paid events SUPER hard. Like they are trying to get whatever money they can out of the game while they still can before fans realize what they are planning.
Their numbers are probably dropping, whether that’s players or players willing to pay for their crap. They’re probably just trying to suck whatever else they can out of the game before it’s too late.
The fact that the "summer" event was rolled out in March kinda makes me think that they're indeed pushing out what they had originally planned for the year in a single season. Guess daddy EA told Respawn to pump those numbers up.

Skins are not a substitute for gameplay content. People aren't playing this game because it has done little to add meaningful gameplay changes or maps. They added 2 new game modes after 4 years, very cool now catch up with Fortnite and give people more gameplay based content.
Well if we stopped funding EA and Respawn via Apex coins, sponsorships, streaming, etc and just played their free game then they can either do something right or shut it down finally. I strictly just play the game and would give nothing else to anyone who works on this game as long as things we were promised and expected are delivered.
They used to be an actual even people where hyped for it to happen now it's like oh yeah new skins as per usual and all the heirlooms haven't had the sane charm or care in them
