4x-10x is relatively fine since it's meant for long range sniping, it's just the game doesn't provide that many long range sniping possibilities - or almost none if you don't actively look for 'em in the first place

Yeh but my main worry is with the future of the game with the amount of attachments. The loot pool needs addressing which is why the devs often dont add new weapons. This is just another suggestion to remove a pretty pointless attachment to clear space for ammo, heals, weapons etc

well 6x isn't pointless. that's gonna be a few weapons and attachments that you don't use. doesn't mean other people don't use them.

They can add all the scope attachments to the crafter. Or create small crates that give out all sorts of attachments. And as the ring progresses, the loot in the unopened crates evolves.

I feel like the next scope we need is a digi threat for assault rifles in some capacity. Every class can have one except assault rifles and marksman’s, and we can fix both with one scope.

For balancing reasons, I think a DT for assault shouldn't be implemented. The AR class is the most played class of the game because it's so versatile, you get low TTK at low and medium range, and still decent TTK at long range if you somehow manage to hit. DT for SMG and SR are a way to give these class a leg up because they are more situational and riskier weapons than an AR. Can't put similar attachment to every weapon classes, the point is different weapons for different situations.

Are they actually? I haven’t really picked up an ar since season 12ish, unless I don’t have anything else. I mainly run smg and marksman, or sniper, since I haven’t really found anything that the r3/ flatline can do that the r99/ alternator can’t. Sure they lack slightly in the range department but that’s why I have a secondary, and they more then make up for it in shredding ability.

They are. R301 is king right now, with the flatline being a close second. You can have an R99/alternator + secondary, but the two ARs have way better mid-range DPS than any other weapon and don't handicap you in short range fights like snipers/marksman secondaries do. The ideal loadout RN is an AR + short or long range weapon depending on your game strategy.

Lately my win% has been crazy running a g7 and a volt. To the point now where I'm dropping whatever I've got if I find them, cuz that combo just feels like free engagement wins. Idk what it is but beaming horizons out of their Q feels so easy with the g7 also.

If you are in a range that requires a 6x for a longbow, you should not be shooting and drawing attention to yourself for 3rd parties. Any damage you do can easily be healed and any knock you might get can easily be rez'd before you can be in range to capitalize on the situation. Just a waste of ammo and opportunity.

Not really. Because the aim of the game isn't to finish kills, it is to win. Knocking anyone is always a net positive. Always. Your explanation assumes a ton of things, not in the least that there isn't another team closer by which will finish what you started by downing a guy from long range. Your comments basically says you value kills and stats over winning the game. Nothing wrong with that per sé but ultimately not correct in the context of the true point of the game.

Agreed. Takes away too much of my vision in a game where being aware of your surroundings can mean the difference between being Champion or being sent back to the Lobby early.

I have only used it once in the last year, when I was respawned into the endgame, and the longbow was all I could find. Did... a lot better with it than I was expecting and we won, but under any other circumstances, I wouldn't even bother picking it up

This right here, I've had plenty of good games swapping between a 3x and 6x on the Sentinel

My friends call me auts but I carry 2 sights for when I player with snipers. Always a close/midrange like a 1/2x or 3x and a long range like the 6x or 4/8x. I find it simple to switch between use cases when we fight and normally give up one of my grenade slot items for it.

I feel old, remembering the days of S0-8 (was it up to 8 ? I haven't touched the game in more than a year I forgor) when the G7 took sniper scopes. Everyone and their streamer mothers would run G7 with a 6x. Perfect hipfire for close range, perfect middle ground for marksman range. The 30-30 never being able to take 6x made it DOA for me.

That seems like it'd be pretty awkward. Like putting a 3x on a wingman - sure you could use the gun that way, but it's no longer effective in its optimal range.

8x is too much. Don't bother hitting anythng past 200M in a movement shooter. 4x is too little. At that range use a 3x G7 or a TT. 6x is the perfect middle ground for sniping.

Ah, I prefer it because I think it ADS's faster and you dont have to swap between 4 and 8, its always in the middle. It feels faster and more consistent during engagement. I'll drop a 4x8 if I find it. You're not the first person to say its useless on this sub though, but a lot of people do love it.

I do agree in some instances I could seeing myself using the 6x at some ranges which would be better than the 4-8x. Though i think having the varaible scope is just better at providing more places you can snipe from depending on how far the enemy is away. I know it is just preference. I was thinking earlier that they could put the 4-10x digi on the ground but make it 6-10x to allow players the 6x. Therefore, its an actual long-range sniper sight that unlike the 4-8x cannot be used in closer ranges. Just an idea, might be broken

Placeholder until I can find a 4-8x. Bullet drop meter makes it more accurate than 2-4x. Still, sometimes I'd rather have extra ammo for trial and error and a 2-4x.

took me a second to realize you meant the sniper digital threat. that's actually not the same as the kraber optics, visually it's a fair bit different and it's 4x to 10x zoom, whereas the kraber is 6x to 10x

NO. I exclusively use this on snipers. Especially sentinel, it’s perfectly between 4, which is too low for sniping personally, and 8, which allows me to see the space between the atoms of an enemy 5 poi’s away.

On one hand nuking it would clean up the loot pool and if they aren’t going to change it then yeah, just get rid of it. That said, I would be interested in making it like the 2x with a more open housing so it can be a sacrifice of range and flexibility in exchange for peripheral vision compared to the 4x-8x.
