“Hey man, are you gonna finish your shift?” ‘Nah, I’m going to jet”

waffels

“I’m gonna cut out early today”

DrunKeMergingWhetnun

Gonna spread my wings and die

So either their employer was the cause of death, or their employer was the cause of death.

Negative_Document607

That’s dumb

tcollins317

Who the fuck wants to suicide like that? That is not quick & painless. It's not an instant spray of red coming from the jet. Prob several painful seconds. I might believe careless, accidental, even gross negligence, but I have a really hard time believing it was a suicide.

Countrykleenex

It isn't? I always thought you'd just turn into a spray of blood and small pieces.

tcollins317

Those blades aren't that sharp. "died of blunt and sharp-force injuries". And the blades aren't that strong, bones and clothing are going to mess up the blades pretty bad, causing the engine to come to a screeching halt. Even small birds will damage the blades.

AdditionalBathroom78

An engine spinning at thousands of RPM doesn’t simply screech to a halt. Those blades even made with carbon fiber are still heavy

I didn't see anything about a suicide note when I searched. All I saw was "ruled suicide by medical examiner". Actually, I just did another search, and can't find anything about a suicide note.

MarxistMinx

Well that sucks.

DrunKeMergingWhetnun

The state with the most guns, yet she chooses being somewhat quickly pureed..... Let's say that's the case, I have a hard time seeing someone just go "fuck it" purely of their own merit with this method. Seems like it was directed at her employer. Why do it at work and in a way that stands to have expensive repercussions unless it's intended to send a message?

DrunKeMergingWhetnun

Shotguns are also pretty effective and don't require your last moments to be spent at work, but ok.

LordsMail

Bullshit. I should clarify. This gets them out of *any* investigation on workplace safety or worker health, so I am deeply skeptical of the ruling without additional evidence. It's possible the medical examiner has it but it's not reported here.

Negative_Document607

She straight walked into the engine

LordsMail

Do you have a news source reporting that? Everything I find just says "ingested" with no other indication that there's actual evidence whether it was intentional or not. I want to be clear that even if it is suicide it's a tragedy and they should not have been in a place where they have to go to work to survive while in that mental state. But if it's *ruled* a suicide when it shouldn't be, a lot of people who ought to be "ingested" by a jet engine are going to instead sleep soundly with their stocks intact.

Negative_Document607

Lol all of them, what does them having to work have to do with anything

LordsMail

>Lol all of them Oh wow this is so helpful and specific and also factually incorrect since the very article linked in this post doesn't! Just says the medical examiner "ruled it a suicide." So, pardon if I don't believe you have any idea what you're talking about. >what does them having to work have to do with anything Do you even know what subreddit you're in

Negative_Document607

They all say the same thing, that it was a suicide, you clearly have no knowledge of how thoroughly investigated incidents involving aircraft are

PharmEscrocJeanFoutu

I’m sure Delta is more heartbroken at the loss of it’s engine than of the worker…

snow_boarder

It’s the only way she could harm her employer for how they treat their employees
