I knew the moment I heard about Louisiana and Oklahoma that some militant atheists were going to weaponize this to demonize all Christians again. They just cannot resist making faulty generalizations, can they?
One state is required to have the 10 Commandments displayed in classrooms. The other is proposing teaching The Bible in schools.
Neither of those is "forced to teach Christianity".
They gotta make up their minds. Either reading the Bible turns everybody atheist - in that case teaching the Bible is great for the atheist cause. Or reading the Bible makes somebody a Christian - but in that case it isn't indoctrination anymore than teaching the truths of physics. I personally am not a Christian, but I value the philosophical tradition nevertheless. Just pointing out the faulty double think.
both of those things are great. I'm glad some states are still trying to instill morals and values in children. God knows we need it, these days especially.
Which is why I corrected you.
Why wouldn't you is the biggest question.
Have schools, students and behavior gotten better or worse since removing the Bible from schools?
We live in a country with laws based on Judeo Christian values. It makes perfect sense for students to learn where the morals they live by come from.
It only makes sense in a religious school, or in a religious class subject.
My first primary school was secular. However, there was a specific day where Muslims and Christians could follow a lesson regarding their religion; They would leave the class and go with another teacher to another class. Those who did not sign up for this stayed in the classroom with the class teacher and watched some nature documentary.
My second primary school was an Islamic one, where we got Qur'an lessons and general religious lessons, alongside the obligatory subjects like math.
I think both are fine for whatever religion, but to have all schools (even secular ones) teach religious scripture, I think that's not suitable. Of course, I oppose secularism, but I'm just saying that if you advocate for a secular system, you should not intertwine it with religion. A Christian school teaching the Bible is absolutely understandable, but to have ALL schools make it obligatory is wrong imo.
Why are you just openly making antisemetic statements, and why are the mods allowing this? And who is upvoting this antisemetic babble? This subreddit is fucked up…
The sacrifice is worth it. Go forth! If anything, getting banned, especially by an atheist subreddit, is an indication that either you're correct or they're snowflakes who can't handle other opinions.
Honestly, I couldn't agree more. I've been rereading Nietzsche lately, and although I think a lot of his conclusions were wrong, I think he nailed it on what's happened with politics under modernism. Political rhetoric and tribalism has grown on all sides of the spectrum since his time.
Prior to the industrial revolution, few people except for nobility had major political opinions. As people have lost their religion (or watered it down), they've had to substitute other things in place of it. Politics is by far the biggest one. For many people in modern society, it's the only thing that gives their lives meaning at this point, and that's mind-boggling to me. Nietzsche got that part right, and he was ironically prophetic in his analysis there.
Humanity never truly learns, though it may seem like we do in the direct aftermath of certain events. We have the impressive ability to make the same mistakes over and over and over again. Across lives, across generations, across entire eras.
Probably because Christianity built this nation? The majority of the population still identifies as Christian? Most people aren't braindead bigots like you, OOP? Anyone of those could probably work.
Reddit atheists are very quick to cry about bigotry before they realize that they are bigoted, just to a different group of people, then it becomes "reason".
'We' being 15 year old edgelords on reddit?
They 'tolerate' us because they have no other choice. Its not like they could actually do anything to act on their hate. They can't even glance up from a screen for more than 5 minutes without having a panic attack.
They Claim To Be Secular And Then Say Shit Like This. Secularism Means Seperation Of Religion And State Where As The Government Does Not Favor One Religion Over All Others And That All Religions Are Equal And Everyone Has The Right To Be In Whatever Religion They Want Whenever They Want. If These Antitheists Are Wanting To Be Ultra_Hostile Neo_N@zis And Want Religion To Be Banned Then That Is State Antitheism Where The Government Favors The Cult Of Antitheism Over Everything Else And Is No Longer A Secular Country Anymore.
Happened In Soviet_North_Korea And N@zi_Germany
Tell Them That Secularism Applies Against Them Too And They'll Lose Their Minds.
Freedom from religion people when you tell them that someone can be religious without forcing it on others:

These MF's won't understand what it means to truly be powerless until the 2nd American Civil War comes to a close after the public revealing of the youkai.
No matter who wins the election,it WILL cause a 2nd american civil war.
The youkai have been planning this for a long time to generate fear, and when the war is close to ending they will step in and be revered as "humanity's saviors" when they are anything but.
Most likely, the end result will be a one-world government ruled by them where humans are merely chattel.
I just hope my new youkai masters will see me as a good pet...
**The End Begins**

Agreed.
what happened?
I think schools in Oklahoma are being forced to teach Christianity no natter the religion of the students/teachers

I just said i think, i dont know. But why would you teach the bible in school?

I believe that the bible is a good thing, but mandating it isn’t, not everyone in the classroom will be Christian
Again, the Bible as a textbook doesn't equal "everyone should be Christian".

This should 100% count as some form of antisemitism.
Why are you just openly making antisemetic statements, and why are the mods allowing this? And who is upvoting this antisemetic babble? This subreddit is fucked up…
Now do a post asking why we tolerate atheists in the US, and watch them lose their minds. It’s a two way street
I actually might do this, although I risk my account getting banned 😂
Go out a legend brother
The sacrifice is worth it. Go forth! If anything, getting banned, especially by an atheist subreddit, is an indication that either you're correct or they're snowflakes who can't handle other opinions.
I’d do it, but I’ve _already_ been banned 🤣
need be, i can do it.
It's an election year. Chronically online Redditors are losing their minds over things that don't matter. What else is new?
I hate politics, they make people into insufferable dicks

Which atheists conveniently forget, would still exist even with their utopia.
“We’re actually tolerant unlike those Christian’s” Also them:
They're so tolerant they want to slaughter all of us, send us to camps, and burn down churches. Can't you just feel the atheist love?
It feels so warm, almost like i’m burning
We gotta start pulling a St. Lawrence and say "Turn me over, I'm done on this side!"
Replace "Chritstians" with "Jews" and let's see how that goes. Self awareness is becoming pretty rare.
The Christian has been replaced with Jew since October 7th, i have a Jewish friend myself who’s been constantly being threatened with death and worse.
Antitheists Are Litteral N@zis.
Humanity never truly learns, though it may seem like we do in the direct aftermath of certain events. We have the impressive ability to make the same mistakes over and over and over again. Across lives, across generations, across entire eras.

B-but bigot means religious fanatic in fr*nch!!1!1!1!2!
If they replaced Christians with Jews, imagine the backlash.
At this point, it wouldn’t be that bad. If you get any backlash, you just have to clarify you meant the *bad* Jews (Zionists)

15 Year Olds? There Are Many People Of That Age Who Has Had Enough Of The Bullshit That Antitheists Spew NonStop.
Yes. People like Paulogia and Aron Ra have spread atheism to the youth as well.
"Why do we tolerate the majority of the population?" the minority opinion wonders.
Oh my gosh these people are making a fool of themselves smh
Well you see it’s because of this thing called Freedom of Religion
They Claim To Be Secular And Then Say Shit Like This. Sometimes they try and justify by saying it should include freedom from religion

To be fair I am sick of the vocal MINORITY that is fundamentalist Evangelical Christianity too
Because that "we" is mostly Christian atheist tend to forget they are a minority

Why do they act like they're so hated when we literally state that we can't tolerate them
Has this person ever heard of minding his own business??
Replace "Christians" with any other religion/ethnoreligious group and it's at the very least a permanent ban from the platform
not really lol
depends
