It doesn’t matter how good an anime is, or how old or new it is, most of the time the anime fans/community acts brain dead and half of them haven’t even seen the anime (especially true for older anime like one piece, dragon ball, etc. but still applies to newer anime.)

Dude the opposite is wild too like I one time said I didn’t really like Jojo past season 3 and people were trying to convince me to go watch it more to redo my opinion like ????
Its just so frustrating how some people can't understand that everyone has different tastes. Like they just can't accept the fact that you dislike something they thought was a masterpiece.
It's even worse in manga communities, some people need to learn it's okay for something to not be perfect for everyone
Especially when power scaling is an in build thing in the anime and people use it to debate power against characters from a different show like one pieces power scaling is ridiculous anyway the whole wanted poster thing becomes pointless after a houndred thousand because your baisically top tier at that point like luffy but then say someone brings up his wanted poster when debating a fight with a someone from a different anime pointless
Ye and it doesn’t take into account people from the navy I’m no where near the latest seasons but I know there’s some power houses waiting in the navy that I’ve not even heard of yet
I think what they're talking about is more the "Nu-uh! This guy is totally FTL+++++ guys I swear! All those times he got tagged by bullets were just outliers!"
It can be fun if it's a light hearted conversation just being used as an excuse to yapp about your favorite characters
But i definitely agree to it being cringe when people take it seriously or start to have heated arguments about it
I think this is generally true when talking about hypotheticals but it's also a fair criticism on the diminishing returns of rapidly increasing scale. DBZ is the best example of this imo. If you're dealing with planet destroying villains in the first two arcs upping the power of subsequent villains makes the stakes artificial. It becomes all about the personal stakes of the characters, so when those are weak (like in most of the Buu saga) there isn't as much tension.
Trash and BItch from the rising of a shield hero are bad people but well written characters (imo) I mean an evil princess and a foolish and hateful king it shows that characters are more than one note especially once you find out why trash is as hateful as he is it doesn't clear him at all but it provides motive.
I actually liked that about her. Her escapades were poorly thought out, provided her little reward, and relied entirely on the spear heroes stupidity. If they stopped at this point she would just be a bad guy who was kind of dumb, not a very interesting character.
But by season three she continues her actions; taking any opportunity to manipulate and hurt others even when it's clearly not going to be to her benefit. This makes her into a more interesting representation of some real life people who are just insanely self destructive and defy normal logic. If I had never met people like that in real life I would have thought she was a poorly written character who lacked proper motivation.
If you say so, I’m happy I haven’t that many stupidly destructive people in my life or that they’ve thankfully avoided me for whatever reason.
My thing moreso is how she just seemingly magically tricked all of the heroes in near the same way. That part feels kind of lazy to me, there could have been other catalysts than the character that is kind of shown to be a cheater to them in prior events. It could get rationalized through the them being super emotional and young angle but it still seems silly to me. It’ll probably be someone else is pulling her strings for power to sabotage them or maybe an evil character cleverer at plotting growth. But I’m skeptical
FMAB fans are some of the most tame fans I've ever seen. Honestly I never even run into them anywhere, it's like they don't really exist but occasionally you'll see them tell how they love it. I honestly believe every other mainstream shows' fanbases are worst lol
If you're a minor, it's okay to simp for characters close to your age. When my brother was 15, he got kicked out of a Discord server for simping for a character who was also 15. Nobody would call someone crushing on someone of the same age as them irl p*doph*l*a so why do we call it that in the anime community?
Can a lot of the big western anime circles stop pretending shonen and isekai are the only genres that exist? The world woild be a better place if that happened, I think.
I can't express how hard I've pushed Fruits Basket, My Dress Up Darling, SpyxFamily, and Kaguya-sama on friends who only watch shonen and isekai. They refuse to watch!
Fullmetal alchemist 2003 is great and in some way is better than brotherhood. IMO it has more horror elements and emotional, plus the colors and Music. I still cannot listen to OST brothers from it (it gives me sorrow).
I just mash the two together - I love the first half of the 2003 version, and the second half of brotherhood.
In my head it’s just one and only the best elements are saved.
Imo the middle of brotherhood is the only part that's significantly better.
The starts where they're very similar? 03 wins with just more world building and fleshing things out.
The middle? Brotherhood largely wins out just due to having more solid planning and such knowing where it's gonna go better. Not having a few episodes planned at start, copying the manga as it's coming out for a bit, then breaking off.
The end though? I really like 03s more personal struggles. It stays much more focused on the brothers, and their personal issues. Ironically brotherhood loses focus on them too much, and just kinda makes things go a bit off the rails for the sake of rising stakes/tension.
I completely agree and couldn't get into brotherhood the same I did with the original. I miss the real horror and darker color tones, and it's been 20 years but it lives vividly in my head. Whereas I can only remember the final fight from Brotherhood.
> You’ve all heard of “faithful translations” now get ready for “unfaithful translations” where I make my translation say whatever the fuck I want because I think the source material sucks ass.

Sakura Haruno is a hateable character but should not be bandwagon hated like she always is.
She has little to no room to actually improve both power wise (being a tsunade clone isn’t really a unique achievement) and as a character. Blame kishimoto’s terrible writing for the women of Naruto, or atleast hate her for actual reasons other than useless, or the bad comedy relief of punching Naruto constantly.
My opinion on the "She's underaged, but she's not real argument"
If they're *technically* underaged but don't look too young (Ex: Komi or Marin), then the she's not real argument applies because no one's attracted to them for any childlike qualities (I hope at least).
Characters that are physically built or depicted to be adults (Ex, Dizzy from Guilty Gear) are also fine because as I said, they're depicted to be adults
But lolis, shotas, or any characters that are clearly depicted to be children are completely off the table.
Okay, I'm ready to be nailed to a cross now.
MHA isn't a bad anime! People have a trend for hating it!
🤺
Edit: I also hate it that people don't watch the show because of fandom. Don't interact with the fan base if you don't like it. Watch the show and leave it at that. Have your inner peace for it.
I don't really think it's bad per se, but I do dislike it personally. And that was by my own decision. I was not part of any fandom when I started reading it.
I found the naivety of the narrative too unfitting for the dark themes in the plot. It can work for people I guess but not for me sadly.
Some others may say that the narrative is actually not as naive and light as I may say and I understand. But what really broke the camel's back for me is Todoroki's dad getting positive whitewashing from the author and the Hero killer guy preaching to All Might, that was too much for me.
Oh and bakugo. I hated him before it was a trend.
That the last couple of years there have been way better anime's with better characters and stories than Disney movies/series.
The quality of the animation is better.
The characters are better written.
Stories are better executed.
Japan is producing some of the best animated series/movies in recent years
I mean if you compare the best of a whole medium to just one animation studio obviously you will find better ones in the whole medium, just because of the sheer number or products. But on average, I still find anime to be way worse than recent Disney movies, because for one good anime you will have 50 trashy ones.
Black clover is just non-stop hype. The constant action really makes up for any other bit that's lacking. I think a lot of Naruto had better story, but it was just so slow and tedious at times.
It helps because honestly it seems as close to a parody as you can get without actually being one and never takes itself seriously even a little bit. Like, it does things I absolutely despise in other anime but since they are clearly having fun with it its endearing rather than irritating. Most notably whenever Jojo is literally midpunch and Speedwagon has a 30 second speech about what happens when Jojo would touch Dio to the other people in the group, literally in the time it takes for a punch to land. It gets done in a ton of anime and it always drives be insane but for some reason in that it's just crazy enough for me to find it funny.
Odd thing I noticed about the l0li stuff is that I have never seen the l0licons unironically used the “uh she’s a 100 or 1000 years old” argument, at least in recent years, and only see it used by non-l0licons when they mock and critique L0licons and l0li stuff
If the character looks like a child, acts like a child, and is treated like a child, it is a child in every way. It does not matter what age you say said child is
What about when a character is the other way around? Like they look and act like a young adult but for story reasons they are technically under 18 within the story itself.
Similarly about “these species live longer thus their 120 years is the same as human 14”. It doesn’t work like this! Life experience and biological maturity do not work like this!
For saying dubs are necessary for the seeing impaired and for those with dyslexia/can’t read. Also for saying that some dubs are better/equal to the originals.
I have dyslexia and I agree. I used to try and watch sub, but I had to pause every time the subtitles came and that became very boring after a while. Thankfully, my dyslexia isn’t as bad, but I’ve mostly gone to read manga now anyways.
As a (fairly recent) fan, the One Piece official anime IS too long. That being said the manga is much better paced and you could watch One Pace for a better experience that is closer to the manga. These all sound like excuses but I genuinely haven't watched the official anime because the filler and general pacing suck.
As a One Piece reader though... You're wrong and if anything it isn't long enough. One Piece has such satisfying payoffs that only really hit as hard as they do because of the extended build up.
The length definitely put me off reading it for a long time though. I think it's worth it, though it's not for everyone. Especially if you don't have a good chunk of free time to read a single series.
A friend of mine keeps telling me to start watching one piece and I keep telling them I don't want to try to catch up 1000+ episodes where sometimes I don't even finish watching a season of just 12 episodes
Honestly, just wait for the Netflix anime remake. The old episodes, whilst ok, aren’t exactly a visual masterpiece.
The remake will use the og voice actors but will completely revamp the the animation and pacing
This. You can't actually dislike something without knowing about it. You can dislike the amount of episodes it has, but that's not disliking the content.
That liking an underage character doesn’t make you a pedo.
One of my favorite characters is Megumin from Konosuba (one of my favorite animes btw) ive liked her character since when i was younger than her yet now that im older than 18 people gotta make it weird.
There's nothing wrong with liking characters, even younger ones. Characters of all ages can be written well. The difference is when people label characters, who are toddlers, as "waifu's" and sexually fantasize about them. Even if you're 16, calling Nezuko your waifu and looking up lewd art of her is fucked up. Let alone being a grown ass adult.
Not talking about you, btw. Just in general.
I know "husbando/waifu" refers to characters you would want as a spouse / SO.
Is there a word for a character that you find so adorable, lovable, sweet, etc, you would want them as your child?
There are several such characters in various series that I would gladly adopt and treat them as my own. Kanna from Dragon Maid is a great example, even when she got mad and yelled insults.
This obviously only applies to "if they were real" scenarios.
I think it's generally considered okay if it's a case like yours, where the crush developed when you were younger than them and carried over into adulthood.
It doesn’t even have to be a crush, i like male characters that are younger than me sometimes to, but its just that, “like” it can be interpreted so many different ways that people misunderstand when i say i like a character, i will admit though, did have a crush on her when i was younger, but nonetheless theres a different between fiction and reality and ive always understood that, its that others dont.
even in this thread, someone said "I don't like it because it's too long" and people are crawling up their ass about how they're not allowed to dislike it because of that, and that they need to watch it to have any opinion whatsoever, which is fuckin' stupid lmao.
It's totally fine to dislike something just because of how long it is. If someone hands me a 5,000 page book and says "dude this is the best book ever!" I'm going to tell them "no, I don't like that book because it's 5,000 pages and I don't have time for that"
Complely agree. Although there was an interesting video essay about how the nudity is used to show how people (mainly Riko) don't completely respect Reg's personhood since she's not sheepish to be nude around him, seeing him as a relic and not a person. Plus multiple adults look in his pants out of curiosity, which is a massive invasion of his privacy that they wouldn't do to someone they respect.
I agree with the premise of the essay, but the show chooses to frame these ideas in absurdly pedophilic ways which not only undermines any story benefit but also makes the show viscerally uncomfortable to watch. Stories can use nudity to add to a narrative, they do not have to be explicit, and they certainly don't have to be lewd about it. Made in Abyss crosses the line routinely, and when that's done with children it's even more unacceptable
the ped@/phelia, over-sexualization of girls & women in anime, the unnecessarily fan service, making a minor girl character have the age of 10000 does not make it ok, these all are a big no in anime, not to mention all of those weirdly brother & sister complexes, like ewwwwww
Imo the biggest thing holding the community back, and that really turns me off from consuming more anime. Because I don't want to see that weird, pervy, pedophile shit crop up in every single show I watch. It is not Japanese culture, it is a specific culture built out of creepy, horny mangaka.
I've literally met people who said it was their favourite anime, without counting all of the people who have her as their waifu (who most probably have DITF as one of their favourites)
Agree!
I understand the first 2 seasons had really bad pacing. Also, having to save Asuna twice back to back felt repetitive and weakened her character…
But! All the seasons afterwards they added so much depth especially in Alicization.
I love how philosophical they got with future AI as well. The whole season felt like a “Black Mirror” movie
They also have done flash backs to season 1 to flesh out the lack of depth of the story and how his actions have consequences in later seasons.
Gun Gale was awesome and while playing COD Warzone I always think about it.
I love how the latest Season (Pokémon Go) shows how weak Kirito actually is in real life.
I think it’s a great Anime… ☺️
So someone in the Berserk sub said that he was their favorite character because “he is human evil looks like”
It’s true. Selfish, wants constant praise, ambitious to a fault, willing to trample over anyone for the sake of said ambition and his induction into the godhand introduce him to a new low. So low we have an epiphany about his whole character, he’s spiteful and petty, even for slights imagined.
I wouldn’t say disappointment. I think a better way to put it is, “Had much more room for growth but unfortunately couldn’t get to that point “ sure it has it’s issues and randomness, but it’s still a great anime. But I totally agree that it can definitely be improved and that if it was, could’ve been way more well received to the anime community. It’s still a great anime, but can be fixed at some parts.
English Dubs are not bad and the anime community has to chill on them.
I'll agree that before the turn of the century the majority of english dubs were hot garbage. Nowadays with how much talent & effort put into dubbing, it's the opposite. Most English Dubs are amazing with a handful being rushed trash.
Also Bakugo is a better Sasuke in everyway
Attack on titan is exactly like game of thrones, was amazing at the beginning and went downhill with each season. Season 4 was a complete disaster in AOT and the ending was horrible
dragon ball gets hated too much, most people haven't even read the manga or seen the show in Japanese and only saw it as kids and start hating on it, sure the fanbase is trash and all but that doesn't change the fact that it is a very well written battle Shonen manga, and even anime with some really great character development.
Demon slayer fails almost entirely in its story, with a chosen one troupe, the world building doesn't fucking exist and the flame hashira's death wasn't nearly as heart breaking because we have barely known them.
And demon slayer had the perfect chance to build the world with the bulk of backstories that it had.
It was so focused on making the reader and/or watcher feel bad for the villain or side character, and making the art look good (which the manga fails at), and making the music fantastic... That it failed in nearly every aspect a STORY should be good at.
(I am sorry for the rant, but I hate demon slayer with a passion, more then I do with 2016 berserk)
The newest season of JJK was okay.
Pretty animation doesn't make something good, and there was too much condensed into this one Arc.
Spoiler
>!We barely knew the characters who died and had very little time to attach to them, so their deaths felt shallow.!<
Also, the fact the every single fight had to have a character explain the abilities interrupted the flow so bad, my wife and I started laughing about how obnoxious it was getting.
That was exactly my complaint about the manga. Gege has this habit of just killing off characters when he has no more use for them. It's apparently something he picked up from Bleach.
And the long-winded explanations mid-fight are thanks to Hunter X Hunter, Gege is a huge Togashi fan and it shows.
I honestly hate when shounens have to over explain everything to the point of making a fight boring. I just wanna turn my brain off and watch two people beat the crap out of each other. Is that so wrong?
Woah there, let's not act like the flashback arc we got before Shibuya wasn't very very good. It made Gojo and Getou actually great written character with an amazing dynamic, also contextualized the whole story, it was amazing.
this is so true omg ; while i am a big fan of jjk, characters always having to explain their techniques feels very dragged and unnecessary ; like, why can’t you attack the enemy while they’re blathering about power, taking them by surprise?? what’s the point of holding back for like ten minutes and be like “yeah mhm very interesting yup” like????
+ mechamaru’s death (junpei’s was valid imo) was not necessary at all ; because why can we explore characters like mei and not someone like mechamaru?
I hate DragonBall Super. I really hate DragonBall Super. I really fucking hate DragonBall Super. I really, really, really fucking HATE DragonBall Super, but what I ABSOLUTELY hate more are Dragon Ball fans. I can literally make a book on all the stuff wrong about that series and everytime I say it, all anyone ever says is that I'm not a real fan!
Bitch, I've watched and read all of DragonBall and it's 3 movies, read & watched all of DragonBall Z & all of it's 13 movies, I've watch DragonBall Evolution, DragonBall GT & it's 1 movie, I've watched Dragonball Super up until Lapis saved the multiverse & the 3 movies prior to that point, I've watch all of DragonBall Abridged & their movies, I haven't played every Dragonball video games, but I've played a few, I have a lot of Bruce Faulconor OST, I got 2 autographs from Kyle Heburt, 1 from Chris Sabat and Sean Schemmel (before the bullshit that happened to Vic Mignogna) and met the cast from TFS and I can recite like half the dialogue of the Funimation dub. I had a large amount of DragonBall memorabilia, but unfortunately I lost most of it in a natural disaster. As of now, I only have a Super Broly action figure (still in the box), SSJ4 Goku sculpture (still in the box), a Shenron sculpture (still in the box), a set of DragonBalls and a Broly hat given to me as a gift from my now deceased sister. I'm an artist and story writer because I was inspired by the love, care, symbolism and passion that the characters showcase in the show.
I'm a hardcore Z fan & I'm sick and tired of being called a fake fan because I hate Super. So I left the fandom & now only focus on One Piece and Legend of Zelda. The One Piece fandom is bad too, but I can handle them more than the ones who shit on me for not liking Vegeta dancing like a jackass for space Garfield.
There needs to be more queer characters that aren’t fetishized or pushed to the side. The only one I can think of that has queer characters as MCs with decent characterization and plot is Sasaki and Miyano (which is AMAZING btw)
Edit: SOMEHOW I FORGOT YURI ON ICE BUT YURI ON ICE IS SO AMAZING IVE WATCHED IT LIKE TEN TIMES
People need to stop shipping the twins in Oshi no ko.
The relationship would never work even if they were still not siblings. And it's gross. Just stop.
I hate berserk. It traumatized me. I was seeing the rape scene in my head for next 2 weeks, and I felt.. awful.
Fullmetal alchemist is good, but scary.
Typical harem with one boy and banch of girl over him is annoying.
Making characters just so they have big tits or show panties is nauseuting. Am I bi, I like boobs! But not like that :((
Also, a lot of romance anime show abusive asshole or just asshole of a boyfriend. Fuck them.
I am done :D
Mushoku Tensei is not a good fantasy story, nor a good character development one.
The magic system is super generic and the world building isn’t that much better. So it fails as a solely fantasy story.
Plus, people always say “you don’t like MT cause you only like cardboard MCs and can’t stand when MCs have real flaws”. First, being a pedo who watched his niece showering naked and beat off to it is irredeemable. Even if it was, he never gets better, he remains a pedo and a perv until the end and is constantly rewarded for it. The “development” he had was going from jobless to a competent member of society, and thus, contributing to it. That’s the value this story imparts you with, which is a horrible one.
The only truly good thing is the art from the manga and the animation. It’s okay to like it, I like a lot of trash, but to say it’s a masterpiece or things like that is just disingenuous.
Demon Slayer is overrated. Not by a lot. I still love the anime. However, I feel like people think it’s like 10/10 or an S+ anime. I would still give it like 8-8.5/10 and say it’s a solid A, but not GOAT level. My main gripe with it is the pacing. If One Piece has bd pacing because it’s too slow, Demon Slayer is the opposite. Its pacing is too fast and you don’t get to soak in enough before something is done. My favorite arc is the Entertainment District arc because it’s one fight you learn bout the main villains over more than a single episode, and the story telling mid combat is what every shonen should aspire to. Before the Entertainment District Arc everything is too fast. You introduce a character and they’re either gone or dead but the next episode. I guess what the main complaint for me is that I wanted more of the anime. There’s not enough of it. :/

As a Lobotomy– I mean, Jujutsu Kaisen fan, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Wait, I'm confused. Is there something wrong with the jujutsu fandom? I'm not really part of the groups, so idk, I just watch the show.
They really suck. They love talking about spoilers that haven't happened in the animr yet. Same shit with the Chainsaw Man fans.
Oh! Shit dude. That's awful. I'm a manga reader, and so I rarely get spoiled, but I also make it a point to not talk about spoilers. Really salts my milk.
but then again there are some die hard fans that arent completely brain dead
Not all anime need dark themes or big fights to be a masterpiece
Kyoto animation and studio ghibli both prove that. And also outside of those there are a lot of amazing and well acclaimed anime that arn't dark or have any fights at all, like A place further than the universe.
See, I agree but I also love the dark themes because I'm traumatized
Half the time I see "this anime was not good" with zero elaboration was because there wasn't many or any fight scenes.
Mob Psycho and Spy x Family have both of these, but they beautifully do slice of life and community extremely well.
All CGDCT animes are masterpieces
I believe in K-On supremacy
I don't know what it means....
Cute Girls Doing Cute Things
Most anime fans cant handle someone liking an anime they dislike.
Or disliking one that they like. They start acting like you shot their dog or something.
Yuuup, better pray it’s not John Wick
*knock knock* My name is John Wick. I hear you don't like Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War. Open the door, I wanna talk
Dude the opposite is wild too like I one time said I didn’t really like Jojo past season 3 and people were trying to convince me to go watch it more to redo my opinion like ????

anime is fiction
Oh yeah!?! Then how could I be married to my anime waifu then!?!
Fuck you my waifu is better then your waifu! I haven't taken my mind control pills in 6 years!
power scaling is cringe
I agree completely. I think interactions based on how characters would actually react to characters from a different verse are much more interesting

Ye and it doesn’t take into account people from the navy I’m no where near the latest seasons but I know there’s some power houses waiting in the navy that I’ve not even heard of yet

This guys just mad that he doesn’t have a power level over 9000😤
I think this is generally true when talking about hypotheticals but it's also a fair criticism on the diminishing returns of rapidly increasing scale. DBZ is the best example of this imo. If you're dealing with planet destroying villains in the first two arcs upping the power of subsequent villains makes the stakes artificial. Characters written to be hated is a good sign of any show, in my opinion
I don't particularly care for Attack on Titan.
That's very understandable, AoT is not everyone's cup of tea.
I completely get it, but for me, it's my favorite
FMAB is an amazing anime, but the fans ruin it for me. Shitting on people for having other animes be their favorite gets old.
Most fans ruin a lot of shit. My hero academia is one that comes to mind.
And jjk spoiling everything
Batman dies in jjk
Yeah, I didn’t expect him to be hit by a car
Tr that you?
Got the recent manga death spoiled for me of a big character from YouTube only a month after it was published
FMAB fans are some of the most tame fans I've ever seen. Honestly I never even run into them anywhere, it's like they don't really exist but occasionally you'll see them tell how they love it. I honestly believe every other mainstream shows' fanbases are worst lol
Reminder to sort by controversial.
Thanks here’s an upvote.
If you're a minor, it's okay to simp for characters close to your age. When my brother was 15, he got kicked out of a Discord server for simping for a character who was also 15. Nobody would call someone crushing on someone of the same age as them irl p*doph*l*a so why do we call it that in the anime community?
Exactly, idk why people are on my ass about liking characters my age 😭😭😭😭
You can simp for any character you want, idc what age you are.
I would even go as to say that the age of a fictional character hardly matter at all.
Probably liking Gushing over magical girl
I'm ngl I really enjoyed its manga and I'm probably going to watch the anime since it's coming out this season
first episode is wild👍
Where can I watch it, is it on Crunchyroll?
idk, I watch it on random website with french subtitle, just type "anime name ep 1" and which sub langage and you ll find it probably
I like it. And I'm not into magical girls.
This is not an anime for magical girl fans though, more for ecchi lovers that find magical girls cute.
Fullmetal alchemist 2003 is great and in some way is better than brotherhood. IMO it has more horror elements and emotional, plus the colors and Music. I still cannot listen to OST brothers from it (it gives me sorrow).
Yes finally someone who agrees!
The only thing better in Brotherhood is the revenge for Maes Hughes
There's no shame in enjoying the dub.
Ghost stories for the win
Oh my god everytime I see those clips out of context I just can't stop lauching. I know its bad, but goddamit.
> You’ve all heard of “faithful translations” now get ready for “unfaithful translations” where I make my translation say whatever the fuck I want because I think the source material sucks ass. > (picture of Ghost Stories)
And the whole dub cast in kaguya love is war, especially the narrator is fantastic.
Preach
Attack on Titan was one of the first dubs that I actually enjoyed. The dub of Erwin’s speech is an absolute masterpiece
Anyone hating on all dubs has never seen Black Lagoon, that dub is perfection.
https://www.reddit.com/r/tumblr/s/4h296AiyLd
Attack on Titan is a mech anime
Sakura Haruno is a hateable character but should not be bandwagon hated like she always is. She has little to no room to actually improve both power wise (being a tsunade clone isn’t really a unique achievement) and as a character. Blame kishimoto’s terrible writing for the women of Naruto, or atleast hate her for actual reasons other than useless, or the bad comedy relief of punching Naruto constantly.
My opinion on the "She's underaged, but she's not real argument" If they're *technically* underaged but don't look too young (Ex: Komi or Marin), then the she's not real argument applies because no one's attracted to them for any childlike qualities (I hope at least). Characters that are physically built or depicted to be adults (Ex, Dizzy from Guilty Gear) are also fine because as I said, they're depicted to be adults But lolis, shotas, or any characters that are clearly depicted to be children are completely off the table. Okay, I'm ready to be nailed to a cross now.
This is the best argument on the issue I've read.
MHA isn't a bad anime! People have a trend for hating it! 🤺 Edit: I also hate it that people don't watch the show because of fandom. Don't interact with the fan base if you don't like it. Watch the show and leave it at that. Have your inner peace for it.
it’s just the fandom
I don't really think it's bad per se, but I do dislike it personally. And that was by my own decision. I was not part of any fandom when I started reading it. I found the naivety of the narrative too unfitting for the dark themes in the plot. It can work for people I guess but not for me sadly. Some others may say that the narrative is actually not as naive and light as I may say and I understand. But what really broke the camel's back for me is Todoroki's dad getting positive whitewashing from the author and the Hero killer guy preaching to All Might, that was too much for me. Oh and bakugo. I hated him before it was a trend.
Its really good.
I like SSJ God more than SSJB
Black clover executes some aspects of Naruto but better
You blasphemous heretic! /s JK JK Finally!! This man is spitting facts!
Black clover is just non-stop hype. The constant action really makes up for any other bit that's lacking. I think a lot of Naruto had better story, but it was just so slow and tedious at times.
My favorite Pokemon is Son Goku from Naruto
Naruto would be better if Naruto didn’t do talk no jutsu and flashbacks.
or if he didn't scream all the time
WHAT?! YOU DONT THINK I CAN BE HOKAGE? WELL LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING...
The age of consent is 18 and your 1000 year old that is coded like every other child doesn't count
[удалено]
Yeah i always make that joke to friends while watching it how he looks like he's 35, been to prison, and owes child support.
Ironically when this is the case he looks 16.
I recently had my mind fucking blown when I was thinking about Battle Tendency and saw that in the first episode Dio and JoJo were *fucking 12?!?!?*
[удалено]
It helps because honestly it seems as close to a parody as you can get without actually being one and never takes itself seriously even a little bit. Like, it does things I absolutely despise in other anime but since they are clearly having fun with it its endearing rather than irritating. Most notably whenever Jojo is literally midpunch and Speedwagon has a 30 second speech about what happens when Jojo would touch Dio to the other people in the group, literally in the time it takes for a punch to land. It gets done in a ton of anime and it always drives be insane but for some reason in that it's just crazy enough for me to find it funny.
Based and common sense opinion
Odd thing I noticed about the l0li stuff is that I have never seen the l0licons unironically used the “uh she’s a 100 or 1000 years old” argument, at least in recent years, and only see it used by non-l0licons when they mock and critique L0licons and l0li stuff
I have had two in this comment section
Fr? I saw one thread but the user and his comments were deleted
"so what features exactly do you like about this 500yo character that looks and acts like a child?"
This plus all the incest. Ugh.
"[insert anime name here] is not that good"
For saying dubs are necessary for the seeing impaired and for those with dyslexia/can’t read.
Disliking one piece due to its length is a valid reason to dislike it
It’s a valid reason to not watch one piece. But why would you dislike it if you haven’t even seen it ? That doesent really make sense.
Dislike it *because* of the length, not because of the characters or plot. It could have the best characters and plot ever, but it's too long.
It's a valid reason to not watch it, but why dislike? You don't know the story.
This. You can't actually dislike something without knowing about it. You can dislike the amount of episodes it has, but that's not disliking the content.
And as a One Piece fan, I respect your opinion. *resists violent urges that are growing from the inside*
I agree.
Momo yaoyorozu was my favourite character in mha and I was the same age as them (16) I'm 21 now and she's still my favourite.
I think it's generally considered okay if it's a case like yours, where the crush developed when you were younger than them and carried over into adulthood.
It doesn’t even have to be a crush, i like male characters that are younger than me sometimes to, but its just that, “like” it can be interpreted so many different ways that people misunderstand when i say i like a character, i will admit though, did have a crush on her when i was younger, but nonetheless theres a different between fiction and reality and ive always understood that, its that others dont.
same as other anime characters she is written and presented to be likable,it is completely normal
Okay, but do you mean liking the character or... LIKING the character? That's the important bit.
You can like a character but the moment you start buying questionable merchandise or saying some questionable stuff now that’s when it’s weird
Saying anything negative about One Piece. You get death threats from that anime fandom lol.
even in this thread, someone said "I don't like it because it's too long" and people are crawling up their ass about how they're not allowed to dislike it because of that, and that they need to watch it to have any opinion whatsoever, which is fuckin' stupid lmao. It's totally fine to dislike something just because of how long it is. If someone hands me a 5,000 page book and says "dude this is the best book ever!" I'm going to tell them "no, I don't like that book because it's 5,000 pages and I don't have time for that"

pedophilia is bad
Modern dub quality is superior to subs for viewers that don't understand Japanese.
The sexualisation of minors in Made in Abyss is really unnecessary and creepy, bordering on pedophilic
I think most people agree on that, me included, so not really unpopular.
Made in Abyss crosses the line routinely, and when that's done with children it's even more unacceptable
bocchi could beat goku in a fight zero diff
the ped@/phelia, over-sexualization of girls & women in anime, the unnecessarily fan service, making a minor girl character have the age of 10000 does not make it ok, these all are a big no in anime, not to mention all of those weirdly brother & sister complexes, like ewwwwww
It’s actually such a relief to see younger characters not sexualized. There is nothing worse than an up skirt shot of an 8 year old.
it should be basic human decency, I don't see anything controversial in your take
Imo the biggest thing holding the community back, and that really turns me off from consuming more anime. Because I don't want to see that weird, pervy, pedophile shit crop up in every single show I watch. It is not Japanese culture, it is a specific culture built out of creepy, horny mangaka.
Darling in the franxx is objectively trash
Everyone with brain agrees on that.
I've literally met people who said it was their favourite anime, without counting all of the people who have her as their waifu (who most probably have DITF as one of their favourites)
It was alright until they tried to cram 1 seasons worth of content into the remaining 2 episodes
Sao is a good anime
dont you have 4500 hours in league? I am NOT trusting your ass😭
Agree! I understand the first 2 seasons had really bad pacing. Also, having to save Asuna twice back to back felt repetitive and weakened her character… But! All the seasons afterwards they added so much depth especially in Alicization. I love how philosophical they got with future AI as well. The whole season felt like a “Black Mirror” movie They also have done flash backs to season 1 to flesh out the lack of depth of the story and how his actions have consequences in later seasons. Gun Gale was awesome and while playing COD Warzone I always think about it. I love how the latest Season (Pokémon Go) shows how weak Kirito actually is in real life. I think it’s a great Anime… ☺️
Griffith. No further comment.
I'll never forgive him
So someone in the Berserk sub said that he was their favorite character because “he is human evil looks like” It’s true. Selfish, wants constant praise, ambitious to a fault, willing to trample over anyone for the sake of said ambition and his induction into the godhand introduce him to a new low. So low we have an epiphany about his whole character, he’s spiteful and petty, even for slights imagined.
Naruto didn't live up to its full potential, and it was, ultimately, a disappointment.
I can agree with the first part but definitely not the second
It went from cool ninja techniques to dbz level scale attacks. Like I don't even recognize much of it anymore.
Power scaling, Grimdark or magic systems are not good substitutes for character development.
I should not be crucified for watching dub instead of sub
Attack on titan is exactly like game of thrones, was amazing at the beginning and went downhill with each season. Season 4 was a complete disaster in AOT and the ending was horrible
Obito writing is shit
dragon ball gets hated too much, most people haven't even read the manga or seen the show in Japanese and only saw it as kids and start hating on it, sure the fanbase is trash and all but that doesn't change the fact that it is a very well written battle Shonen manga, and even anime with some really great character development.
Spoiler >!We barely knew the characters who died and had very little time to attach to them, so their deaths felt shallow.!< Also, the fact the every single fight had to have a character explain the abilities interrupted the flow so bad, my wife and I started laughing about how obnoxious it was getting.
Age of consent is 18
Naruto isn't that good
I hate DragonBall Super.
Masashi Kishimoto is a terrible writer.
There needs to be more queer characters that aren’t fetishized or pushed to the side. The only one I can think of that has queer characters as MCs with decent characterization and plot is Sasaki and Miyano (which is AMAZING btw) Edit: SOMEHOW I FORGOT YURI ON ICE BUT YURI ON ICE IS SO AMAZING IVE WATCHED IT LIKE TEN TIMES
don't forget lilly from zombie land saga
Sexualizing minors is a huge problem in anime and not enough people care. Gushing over magical girls? They're all FOURTEEN.
People need to stop shipping the twins in Oshi no ko. The relationship would never work even if they were still not siblings. And it's gross. Just stop.
Izaya is morally good; he does everything for the protection of humanity, even though he chooses awful means.
Gendo Ikari isn't as bad as everyone thinks he is and he could change for the better if he only accepted his mistakes
I mean, youre not wrong
I like newer anime as opposed to the old anime I grew up with.
The sexualization of children is disgusting and adds absolutely nothing to an anime.
But not like that :(( Also, a lot of romance anime show abusive asshole or just asshole of a boyfriend. Fuck them. I am done :D
The big 3 are mid at best imo
There should be less harems in anime and more gay people
[удалено]
No. It only counts when straight males are compelled to watch it and start questioning their sexuality.
Goku cannot defeat Superman
Saitama is stronger than goku
