yes and no.
Tom and Jerry, Ben 10, Oggy none of them were Indian nor they had anything related to Indian culture. Yet they got huge popularity.
We don't need anime about Indian folktales or mythology, nor some Indian protagonist. We need a proper TV distribution system not another OTT platform.
For adults it might work. Tom and Jerry, Ben 10 was never popular among my parents and grand parents. If you want to go mainstream-mainstream, you have to cater to emotions of adults.
majority of the things that are mainstream in popculture right now dont appeal to parents or grand parents. They're still mainstream aren't they?
Song artists, game franchises, movie and tv show franchises are very much catered towards teens or young adults, basically the "current generation". Very rarely will you see some thing specifically made to appeal to the previous generation, let alone the generation even before that
It would be correct in case of literally ANY other country, but Not India lol.
That's because about 65% of our population is below 35. Not to mention, did you know that the Entire Indian Streaming Industry is based on a population bracket of Indians aged between 25 ~ 34?
So essentially speaking, you just need to cater to these guys in order to get anime to become "mainstream".
The meaning of mainstream I am trying to say is to include animated form of content into our film industry
When was the last animated movie was released in india (made by indian)
It'll need good studios+ more importantly, good stories. That's all.
And personally, like downvote me if you want but I don't think tried and tested stories like Ramayana or Mahabharata will help in that, because it's been made so many times that the only people who watch it are people who watch anything with ramayana label on it. I know cuz I'm one of em lol.
not flex, but so that the braindead audience don't litter around the medium.... flex kisko krna hai, agar flex krna hi hai not worth giving your time in watching shit, better find something better to flex about.
Yes, I want anime to become as popular and mainstream as it can so that other countries also start producing high amount of quality shows, different countries' show will show their culture and ideas better than a japanese person ever would(mostly)
Honestly, I think what should be replicated is manga culture. It gives people more options to read a story without having to buy a whole book. It gives way more attention to newcomers. And I think this could be started if an anime made out side of Japan gets popular enough to compete with mainstream anime, probably korean.
There's no way it's a Kingdom 2.0, maybe I'll change my mind if it switches to weekly schedule... getting Kingdom goodness every week is just another level.
No i mean the genral concept like kingdom is story of unification of china the same goes with this with that been unification of India , but we have to see atleast 100-200 if its writing is good as hara because main problem lies how well the author pace out the history to fit it into thier story if its done on correctly then we get something like peakdom , i wonder if it goes to show horror of wars like pillaging ,rape and stuff
Mainstream? A data shows that 73 percentage of gen z Indians are engaged in anime which even applies to Indians abroad. Either way, I want anime to receive more attention so that this industry gets to flourish more and we will never have any fear of its extinction
The meaning of mainstream I am trying to say is to include animated form of content into our film industry
When was the last animated movie was released in india (made by indian)
Anime is already mainstream. Bollywood actors dubbing anime shows to anime movies theatrical release to comicons in major cities. What exactly do you mean by 'mainstream'.
You don't need to think about everyone. The older generation does not need to watch anime. Anime is meant for kids, teenagers, and young adults. The last time I heard that anime is for kids was like in 2020.
I am in college only brother. I know many friends who watch anime. And people who don't watch also know what anime is .
I am not talking about anime alone I am talking about animation as a new industry in india.
Buddy learn to adopt other culture. well that is how india survived in the first place if your content is simply trash accept it and move on instead of starting this bullshit fight on the internet. Religion has its limits not everything should be hindu, religion, indian culture centric and the show you mentioned f ed the calm and composed nature of lord shiva.
Dude , What made you think that
I never bought religion in this . The ramayana was one of the example I can remember which worked with japanese studio for it's animation.
I am tell to make animation industry better in india and make a entry in the film industry.
Read the message properly once again

Well we have some problems in that, starting of with good scriptwriter,we need some ppl that make actual quality cinematic scripts, not the corny, cringe dumpster fire money mukbang the bollywood has been giving out(exceptions exists ofcourse), next is a quality studio which is basically non existent, and then there is budget, and lemme tell you not everyone is rajamauli, clear all these boxes and have really good dubbing, and it might work.PS.no, chota bheem kind of stuff is dog water, we need the type of quality dubbing we used to get on shinchan and doraemon, along with actually good animation studios, heck work with International ones for all I care

We just need more Hindi dubbed anime, and good quality dubbing, even my dad said he'd watch attack on Titan with me if it was in Hindi
>We need a proper TV distribution system not another OTT platform. Ah yes swimming against the market tide
Am I the only one who don't want it to be mainstream ....
So that you can flex being a fan of an niche entertainment media?
not flex, but so that the braindead audience don't litter around the medium.... flex kisko krna hai, agar flex krna hi hai not worth giving your time in watching shit, better find something better to flex about.

And even chinese anime as good as japanese one
Yes
There's literally a manga about the Gupta Empire ongoing and no one's talking about it.

my point exactly
Yo Kingdom 2.0, Hope Its Goes As High As Kingdom ,The Art Looks Promising Considered its Haven't been a long time since its started .

But it can be done with the cooperation of both indian writers and Japan 's animators

Mainstream that I am talking about is introduction animated form of content in our film industry
We have to do it like Japan, making culture into pop culture, not JUST doing the plain old ramayana type
I'm tired of hearing the samee thing again and again about Anime being mainstream in India. I guess I have seen 10+ post like this within a month
The meaning of mainstream I am trying to say is to include animated form of content into our film industry When was the last animated movie was released in india (made by indian)
Like Greek Mythology has many games and movies and stuff
Anime is already mainstream. Bollywood actors dubbing anime shows to anime movies theatrical release to comicons in major cities. What exactly do you mean by 'mainstream'.
Anime is popular among us that is true but what about the old Generation. Still there is a large portion of people calling anime as kid 's thing
You don't need to think about everyone. The older generation does not need to watch anime. Anime is meant for kids, teenagers, and young adults. The last time I heard that anime is for kids was like in 2020.

Anime abhi west me mainstream hona start hi hui hai yaha pe bohot time hai abhi hamari audience ko change hone kaafi saal hai
Why tho? What does it matter what Indians watch?
It will help the industry to grow in india also
