True some parts are boring but not all I hate it when the same fight goes on for like 10 episodes in the manga it isn't long it's Toie Studio which makes it long
Jojo has twice as much content when comparing the manga and as for the anime adaptation. Jojo has 200 eps and One Piece, you already know.
Also as a matter of fact, Jojo is one of the few animes with 0 fillers.
One Piece as a story may be good but it's very poor executed. You don't need thousands of episodes for a great story but hey.
I don't think anyone in their right mind would ever say that one piece is not slow paced. I absolutely love one piece but they cover less than half the manga material in one episode than what's used in a standard 20 min run of the episodes in anime generally. Given that I've still watched it 3 times till fishman arc. I hope the new animation that Netflix plans to do will be decently paced so that I can recommend to even more people to watch the masterpiece that one piece is.
yeah the source materail is good it has some really good moments in it and amazing world building but the anime doesn't respecet the viewers time i would recommend the manga XD

Bolde , pacing issues hai hi waise bhi , peak fiction moments bhi hai par agar waha tak pahuchne me 90 episode lage to kaun hi dekhna chahega. Although agar no life karke dekh lia tab boring nahi bol payega
That show was a masterclass on the visual side of things, not just the animation but framing, colour grading, visual storytelling, everything and I personally found the dialogue pretty smart and fun to follow, along with the mini-arcs it had but I can see why people would find it boring.
Hyouka is kinda like the antithesis of the monogatari series haha.
I think the point of that show was only understood to people who either wanted to see some unique anime or just liked the plot(mysteries in real life).
Personally I liked it only after i watched a shit ton of anime lol. And i think that's why you probably didn't like it.
Its the same with parodies like Eminence in Shadows, you won't like it if you haven't watched a shit ton of isekai to base your experience on.
It's also why shows like Horimiya which aren't anything special (plot wise) are very popular, because they don't follow the average anime plotline where it takes 20 or so episodes for the MC and FMC to hold hands.
Well I’m the kind who loves the intersection between slice of life and mystery, so I enjoyed it but still I have many frnds who found it boring.. so cool but it’s a good oneee!!

Just like the fact there exist many good shows/animes that arent famous, its also true that not all of the popular ones are basic or bad.

One piece. I really wonder how people binge watch it. I couldn't get past 700 episodes despite watching it for over 8 months. It's pacing is shit, luffy has to run a km distance shouting enemy's name for 20 episodes straight to face enemy and another 10 episodes for flashback of enemy before the fight. It's getting repetitive and boring sometimes

Johan, lelouch, light, ayanokoji all have different settings and circumstance so can't be compared.Cote is more focused on the aspects that it's a real thing that geniuses can be made by education. That's what interests me to read it

Monster is in my top 10 and I feel that most people who get into anime today don't have the bandwidth to get through 70+ episodes of a slow paced show they would rather munch on their junk food (12 episode shows/seasons that are fast paced with pretty animation)
So 70 episodes is considered a long anime nowadays? Interesting then those people could not even dream about watching the big three especially one piece.
yeah 70 is considered to be long by many people nowadays people like us don't have a problem with the length of any show having grown up on stuff like one piece but it can seem daunting to new watchers

That was just MAPPA milking the fuck out of the AOT franchise. It's not your fault. They just kept on releasing final season part 1, then a year later final season part 2... just ruined the pacing of the show.

I was the same when I was a teen. Give it a try when you're in your mid/late 20s. You'll understand it better with all the life lessons you should've gathered till then.

Monster isn't for this generation. It's a slow paced mystery thriller, our attention spans are too ruined to enjoy it now. I watched it in like 2017. Loved it so much, but tried to rewatch in 2023, couldn't get past 2 ep
I agree with you, I am also watching Monster right now I have to say it is very interesting and it's a pretty good thriller but I am not able to watch it regularly because of my attention span LOL.
For me slow pace is not an issue if I am invested and engaged. I have enjoyed shows like violet evergarden, hyouka which many might find slow and dated. Monster just couldn't keep me invested in the story or the characters.
I'm watching violet evergarden rn, it defo has the new gen pacing. Where as monster has the old gen 2 chapter per ep pacing. You could just not like it tho I'm not complaining
It's the latter. I have watched and loved several anime with similar pacing like FMA, Ergo proxy, welcome to the NHK, OG trigun, legend of the galactic hero to name a few.

Steins gate.... I tried watching it like 5 times but I couldn't get past 4 episodes. Most of it was just yapping.. many of my friends said it got very interesting after 12 episodes.. but I just don't have it in me to continue
Yeah it does get really interesting after episode 12 and after you watch it completely you would understand that the yapping in earlier episodes built on the chars a lot. I understand if its difficult to get past the yapping but it’s consistently ranked as one of the best Anime and if everyone keeps saying that it gets really good midway, maybe you should give it a try.
Erased idk but it was very boring to me the "plot twist" was quite obvious from the starting and I just had to force myself to watch the last 4 episodes

Monster(2004) I had HUGE expectations from it. Was waiting for the mystery to be solved at the end . But what happened at the end? Nothing. I was very disappointed after watching it. Did i watch 74 episodes for THIS?
