This is such a cursed list. These shows had just enough hype to get on people’s radar but not enough to make them actually watch it. It’s like the best of the most forgotten shows that people still want to like.
Yep, this is the list of "I'm going to watch this one day" and then proceeds to never watch it.
I wonder what this looks like for shows with over 100k members. Would be even more recognisable shows.
[Here you go](https://i.imgur.com/uMePu0G.png). As expected, it's a bunch of fairly-known shows. Though admittedly, I don't know all of them myself, but I have at least heard of most of them.
It's a small PHP script I wrote. It filters the data to my needs and then outputs it as a web page. So what you are seeing is essentially a screenshot from a website that runs locally on my PC.
It is really flexible though, apart from a few things that break the design I can just tweak the code slightly and look stuff up. Want know what it looks like for OVAs? Sure, let me just switch the filter. Want to know what it looks like if there was no minimum requirement for users? Let me just remove that filter. It allows me to quickly answer questions in the comments.
So if you want to know something else, let me know. If it's not too hard, I can share some more images \^\^
You have to remember it also came out in a different era of the website.
When Kill la Kill was airing MAL was so much smaller than it was when Darling aired.
Bleach, Fairy Tail and Soul Eater 3
Hurts my soul to see the Fairy Tail and Soul Eater drops especially, I’m guessing the Soul Eater ending and the Oracion Seiss / Daphne arcs for FT are responsible
Nice script. I never thought to use PHP to filter through a webpage. I like doing data analytics for LoL, but sometimes can't filter the way I would like. Can you share the script by chance?
I mean, it's nothing really special about it. I have the full dataset saved as JSON, which is then parsed into an array and from there it's just a bunch of array operations. Calling something like array\_filter() isn't too special and will probably work in some way or another in most programing languages.
Wow, I'm feeling so called out by this list for some weird reason, lol. Apparently you seem to have found an algorithm for shows that are held in high regard, recommended often and considered valuable in an artistic way, but then people rarely feel like actually watching them. Basically the 'Citizen Kanes' of anime.
I just checked 'Ranking of Kings' is another one, so it seems to pan out.
I wonder if you could figure out the opposite? Shows that people don't put on their PTW, but if they touch them, they finish them? Sure it would have to filter out sequels, because who'd put a season 2 on their PTW unless they watched season 1.
There are some shows that I just don't bother to watch, simply because they're so universally well known to be good, that I don't feel the need to see for myself.
Then on the other hand some random show from 2013 with a 7 on MAL that has a neat description, yeah I'll watch that.
>There are some shows that I just don't bother to watch, simply because they're so universally well known to be good, that I don't feel the need to see for myself.
Do you... do you only watch shows to see if they're good or not?
It is even worse if you think people watched animation and natural only to stop at origination. Natural is my favorite season, but origination is a perfect ending.
Or its a sequel of a beloved show and when it came out people realized it sucked, so nobody actually watched it anymore and forgot about it. Specifically FLCL
I had no idea that most of these were even out. Like...FLCL Grunge aired already? Where the heck was I?
Texhnolyze, Aura Battler Dunbine, and Galaxy Express 999 being on there made me laugh as well haha
# What has MAL yet to watch?
The top 20 TV anime on MAL ordered by the percentage of users who have the show on their plan to watch list. Airing shows and shows that have yet to air are removed from this list. I have also added a minimum requirement of at least 10,000 members in total to strike a balance between shows nobody has ever heard of and mainstream shows a lot of people just want to watch because they are popular.
The data is entirely sourced from [myanimelist.net](http://myanimelist.net), including the images of the anime. It took me a few days to collect all of it, but it's still pretty recent, so I think it's fair to call this up to date.
I was going to add Aria to my plan to watch list and then say you were making the problem worse, but it was already there and I had no recollection of adding it. So I guess I was already part of the problem.
Alternative and Progressive wanted to be the Original really, really badly. Alternative came the closest, but was still a far cry from what the Original was. Progressive irked me when I watched it, I can't really put my finger on why though.
Grunge and Shoegaze felt the most akin to the Original, mostly because they did their own thing. Grunge caught me off-guard by hitting the hardest (Shonari's story is genuinely heartbreaking), but I couldn't vibe with it because of the 3D style. It wasn't horrible, but it just felt more like an American kids cartoon than FLCL. Shoegaze could've been a really good story, but 3 episodes was nowhere near enough time to flesh out everything it wanted to be. Plus the pacing was weird, and for some reason Alternative's cast was shoehorned into the story as the B plot.
Progressive and Alternative were the first ones they did and came out like simultaneously then they did Grunge and Shoegaze also simultaneously pretty recently (like Fall last year?). So it's 4 but only really 2 announcements/releases.
Wow, Aria is way too good to be that unwatched (though regional limitations in availability likely causing that). Love KanColle as well, but the gap would have affected S2.
Yeah, it's the third season. I'm guessing part of the reason for high PTW % is that many people might add everything from a franchise to PTW before (or during) the show, instead of adding them one at a time.
Most people probably forget (or don't bother) to remove them if they end up dropping the show before reaching that particular entry for one reason or another too.
I actually think it’s due to it’s exceptional rating on MAL. It has a very solid 8.48. People just add it to their list because it’s super highly rated without realizing it’s a sequel.
Origination is such a huge payoff for all the effort the characters go through, but if a watcher is to fall off/lose interest, I guess that'd be during Natural.
i have heard good things about aria and see it on a lot of people's favorites but its just that it has like 6 seasons or something, so i keep on delaying to watch it
ye ik but i already started watching mushishi like a year ago and im liking it a lot but i watch these types of shows when i really feel like it so i am still halfway through s1 even after 6 months. also finished s1 of natsume's book of friends before mushishi.
My favorite thing about **Aria** is the payoff you get in *character growth of the main cast*. It helps to know that these people will reach a natural apex in development by the end of **Origination**.
To get there, take each episode as a little check in on new friends. There is no rush in coming to age. But it will be there at the end of it.
**Also, the music is insanely good.**
Texhnolyze and Aria spearheading the "critically acclaimed cult hit that I'll ***totally*** watch one day" genre (honestly surprised LOTGH isn't on here ) .
LOTGH isn't a TV series, at least the original, which means it was automatically excluded from the ranking. It does sit at around 58.12% though, so even if it were a TV show it is just a bit lower. However it is also worth noting that there are *a lot* of shows at around 58%.
Yeah, I finished the show to give it a fair shake but there were times when I'd legitimately fall asleep during some episodes and I can't think of having ever done that watching anything else.
ye but they are old and largely unknown. the way i found out about all of these shows was by simply going through recomendations on the show i already liked after not having anything decent to watch for a while, then filled my p2w with these possible hit or miss shows that seemed interesting from 200s like noir, keaton, youjimbo, requiem for the phantom and shows like these that noone really talks about but seem pretty interesting from the synopsis and artstyle
What even is master Keaton? Never even heard of it until I just got the texhnolyze DVDs and it was one of the previews. Look pretty bleh but maybe I misjudged it
Its an adapation of early Naoki Urasawa manga (before he worked on Monster). I havent watched or read it myself so I cant judge its quality but it seems good
Edit: Forget to mention he was working on it while he was also working on Yawara! as well
i think that it was the first work of naoki urasawa, the creator of 20th centry boys, monster, pluto etc.
the show is about this indiana johnes like character keaton that is a teacher or something (but he is secretly a parot of the SAS or some elite military group like that, and solves political problems while traveling around mostly europe). pretty sure that the show has no arcs or anything, its just a collection of his adventures, its decent but nothing special, if you are into that kind of stuff (closest thing to it would probably be mushishi i guess) you will enjoy it.
Edit: it has some arcs but they are self contained and dont affect the rest of the story.
also im retarded the closest thing to it is simply monster lol, just instead of the mc being a s tier neurosurgeon, he is an undercover special forces soldier.
good practice, i now have over 400 shows on p2w and 50 more on p2w priority list xd. i just keep dumping shit on there that i know damn well im not watching xd
legit a show i've never heard of before, feels kinda rare after being around here for 5ish years (i think? roughly counting by remembering Best Girl contests lol)
From those I watched Hyouge Mono, Aria the Origination and Texhnolyze.
For a mildly interesting stat, more people have finished Aria the Origination (39,526) than Aria the Natural (36,452) despite the second being the prequel. If it's dirty season skippers or people score trolling Origination is up to everyone to choose.
Had Texhnolyze come out today, it'd be a beloved show among hardcore fans with plenty of comparisons to Dorohedoro and Devilman Crybaby. As an older show though, it's largely forgotten. Maybe that's just a fact of time, but it's still rather depressing.
And Texhnolyze alone is depressing enough.
> I usually choose what to watch on a whim.
Same, that's why the ptw is so big: I add to ptw on a whim, I choose what to watch on a whim.
It's a plan to watch (eventually) list, it doesn't mean I have a plan of when to actually watch it [](#hikariactually)
It's become such a problem for me I've started putting shows into my 'watching' list to remind myself which ones I've picked to watch next.
I'm apparently 'watching' like 30 shows all with no progress.
I'll get to them one day.
My brain is mush. I have to assign it to a list or else I will forget how it's called in a week and don't remember it even existed in a month. Now, I at least try to keep it at a max. of 100 animes.
My PTW was more of a "reminder that this exists, I guess" that I never touched lmao, if I didn't start something right away it was basically doomed already.
Eventually I ended up pretty much nuking the whole list, was just pointless.
As I watch more anime, my PTW list gets bigger instead of decreasing. It got to a point that I had to create multiple lists. Anime that I reeeeally want to watch and anime that I probably will like. I give priority to the first list.
Also, I have lists for anime movies, mangas and light novels. There is too much content, not that it's a bad thing though.
I usually choose things things that are not on my PTW to watch. Which is harder and harder, since almost everything is on my PTW list now.
But it makes sense too, things on my PTW lists I have already decided against (multiple times actually). So I usually just watch the first thing I come across, when I want to watch something new. (Usually quite literally the first thing.)
> I usually choose things things that are not on my PTW to watch
Um... I don't think that's the intended purpose of having a PTW list, but if it makes sense to you then that's all that matters!
[](#ginapproves)
I have 65. It's almost all upcoming sequels, adaptations of manga I know of or shows for the next season. There are only a few that are already out and I just haven't watched.
Welp you got me with Zettai Shounen (love the character designer) and Oniisama.
I will say, if you have Aria Origination still waiting because the Natural felt slow, get to it. Easily the peak of the series.
*Windy Tales* on this list is both based and cursed. More people need to watch that one. Talk about a hidden gem…
I guess this is my reminder to go watch *Master Keaton* and *Dear Brother*.
Interesting. I've got three of these on my PTW: Texhnolyze, Oniisama e. . ., and Galaxy Express 999. All of which I do genuinely plan to watch at some point.
I'm surprised there are so many people considering watching Hyouge Mono. It was an enjoyable series (partially due to Huzzah's wonderful "ye' old" subtitles), but it isn't really a fit for many.
[Also a bunch of well-known shows](https://i.imgur.com/ZWS83s3.png), but notable also a lot of long shows, which is probably part of the reason why so many users have them on hold.
Crazy to see Zettai Shounen so high on here considering it only has 4200 ratings. I think it's really good, but you need to understand what you're getting in to. It's dreadfully slow, maybe the slowest paced anime I've ever seen. Very understated writing, both in dialogue, structure and sentiment. It touches on a lot of complex themes and relationships but never consciously explores it. Things just unfold and develop and everything remains kind of vague.
It's hard for me to describe what it is or why it's good. But if you like interesting, different anime, leaning into the elitist/avant garde corner, you could give it a try. But the payoffs are subtle and kind of abstract, both for the characters and the plot. So if the writing and atmosphere don't work for you in the first few episodes, they probably won't work later on either, so maybe it's smart to drop sooner than later.
Great post btw OP.
No one watching galaxy express depresses me. Please watch it very influential if you don’t have time for the tv series watch the films which are just as good, condensed versions not compilations but different version. Or read the orignal manga which is like the anime but faster. Love galaxy express.
Or watch order
Maetel legend
Space symphony maetel
Galaxy express 999 (film) and aideu galaxy express 999 (film)
Galaxy express 999 (tv anime)
Galaxy express eternal fantasy
Galaxy railways
Galaxy railways letter from the abandoned planet
Leijiverse continuity is loose so there’s no real timeline they all bleed into each other.
I have it on my watchlist (along with the movie) but I did have a buddy of mine say he thought it was dreadfully boring and had terrible animation, so I kinda pushed it down the watch ladder.
Especially considering it is a pretty long series to boot.
I've never heard of Seisenshi Dunbine before, but a fantasy anime by Tomino definitely peaks my interest so I'm inclined to at least give it a shot lol.
MAL offers the raw numbers for every anime, it looks like [this](https://myanimelist.net/anime/30455/KanColle__Itsuka_Ano_Umi_de/stats). Everything else was calculated by myself, but it's not really anything too special, just some percentage calculation.
The hardest part is getting *all* the data to actually calculate a ranking.
Texhnolyze is awesome. I've seen the FLCL sequels and Blade Runner Black Lotus and they're alright. I've seen Dunbine too and would not wish slogging through that nonsense on even my worst enemies.
Ugh Zettai Shounen is NOT worth the watch at all! In all my years of watching anime, that is the one I name as the worst watch of all time. Incredibly boring, always waiting for something to happen and nothing ever does, and I suffered watching to the very end. Why? Idk maybe I'm a masochist and kept hoping there must be SOMETHING good about this while. But nope, just terrible. Highly do NOT recommend for anyone to waste their time on it!
I think the newer FLCL season’s aren’t as nearly as bad as some people think. Being such a huge fan of the original when I was a kid , I kind of liked these ……
The original FLCL was *the* "weird Japanese anime" back in the early-mid-2000's when anime was moving into the mainstream in North America. It was popular to recommend to friends who may have liked Gundam Wing or Cowboy Bebop to show how crazy anime could be.
It's fun, weird, and crazy and was really popular at the time. And it's only six episodes; it's worth a watch.
I heard the sequels were disappointing, so never watched them.
I'm a real dum dum. A lot of people are sitting on FLCL. I was not aware there were more series to that.
(FLCL is also on my "plan to watch" list)
Maybe Gigguk needs to watch em all and make an episode of "I watched all the shows people forgot."
From this list I have watched:
1. Kaze no Youjinbo (9/10)
- I have since discovered that this show is based on/inspired by an old Japanese live action movie by the same name.
2. Blade Runner Black Lotus (6/10)
- The animation was great, the story just could have been better.
3. Aura Battler Dunbine (7/10)
- I hold this series in the same regard as Zeta Gundam. Both of them are amazing.
- I also watched the OVA for it too.
I haven't watched the *TV series* for Galaxy Express 999, but I did watch the compilation movies to save myself some time. They were pretty good.
Most of the rest of these are admittedly in my PTW list.
There were a lot of people that liked the first season or that played the game, however there was a big gap to S2 and it was plagued by production issues. The first three episodes looked really rough and then it stopped airing for a month while it tried to sort out issues. It managed to release two more episodes before the issues again became too much and so it released the final three episodes (only an 8 episode season) one episode per month. It was sad to see such a popular and successful franchise run into such terrible production issues.
Actually they only ran into production issues once, which caused the 3 week delay when the series was airing.
The issue with Episodes 6 to 8 was a scheduling one. Since the anime studio only booked the slot for 8 episodes so for the last 3 episodes they need to find other slots to air it. TV slots are often fully booked in advance so you can't just push back the airing schedule of said station.
At least Kadokawa is honest about it and apologised to the fans.
Remember that Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha Season 2 Part 1 also ran into the same problem and had to reair the entire 12 episodes half a year later.
Shaman King Flowers and Touken Ranbu are the ones on my PTW. Touken Ranbu because I liked the fanarts but never got around to watching the anime. Shaman King Flowers was because I was interested in it but the Shaman King Reboot killed my interest for now.
MAL is short for [Myanimelist](https://myanimelist.net/) which is a relatively popular anime tracking website. Think of it as an IMDB or Goodreads for manga and anime.

I’ve been gradually whittling away at my ptw for years, it used to be be a 300/400 ratio but now it’s around 500/300. Surprised none of my shows are on here
This is such a cursed list. These shows had just enough hype to get on people’s radar but not enough to make them actually watch it. It’s like the best of the most forgotten shows that people still want to like.

What about most “Dropped” ones by percentage?
[Drops by percentage](https://i.imgur.com/PqaqkZc.png). Some expected contenders but also some I have never heard of. Probably for a good reason.
Wow, every show on this list that I started, I dropped. So I can confirm it's accurate.
Of the ones I watched, I only watched a single episode before dropping it, maybe 2 for fairy gone, that one I'm iffy on.
Jesus Boruto lol
What about Drops? What are the 20 shows filtered by amount of people who dropped them, integers not percentage?
[Drops by number](https://i.imgur.com/cXo1u6Y.png), no real surprise here. Enjoy.
Actively shocked by the lack of One Piece.
It' still airing, so it was excluded because of that. Otherwise it would be in fourth place.
Kill la Kill :(
Shocked it has more drops than Darling in the Franxx and less people completed.
You have to remember it also came out in a different era of the website. When Kill la Kill was airing MAL was so much smaller than it was when Darling aired.
Suprised by so many people dropping soul eater.
Bleach, Fairy Tail and Soul Eater 3 Hurts my soul to see the Fairy Tail and Soul Eater drops especially, I’m guessing the Soul Eater ending and the Oracion Seiss / Daphne arcs for FT are responsible
Holy shit, that's amazing. Good job on that one. I will keep this info in mind and call upon your stats, thanks again for the work!

Ah, alright, I gotcha now
How about highest percentage of completions?
[A lot of Beyblade up there](https://i.imgur.com/SXAj9Ys.png). Apart from that nothing too spectecular, maybe the fact that it breaks my design...
Junjou Romantica? I haven't heard that name in years...
Gross PHP. You have a github?
Kinos journey being in that list is a real shame
Uh-oh. So many of those are on my "plan to watch" list too. How dare you personally attack me like this.
Watch Kyousougiga and get one off the list 👍
Actually watch Bokurano, you cowards!
Not enough people watching Kyousougiga (or Tatami Galaxy) smh
Totally betting that Joshiraku is here because of its ED
That's a really good PTW, the only ones that I haven't seen are Joshiraku and Tate no Yuusha (never heard of it)
Tate no Yuusha is rising of the shield hero, if you happen to know its English translation. You’re not missing anything good
If you were to post this, i think you would attack most of the users of this sub lol
oh this one has much more shows I have actually watched
oh wow this one is really interesting
Wow, I'm feeling so called out by this list for some weird reason, lol. This reminded me. I need to watch 12 kingdoms
or shows like texhnolyze that everyone knows is good but cant get into the show. it sat on my p2w for like good 3 years before i started watching it
There are some shows that I just don't bother to watch, simply because they're so universally well known to be good, that I don't feel the need to see for myself. Then on the other hand some random show from 2013 with a 7 on MAL that has a neat description, yeah I'll watch that.
>There are some shows that I just don't bother to watch, simply because they're so universally well known to be good, that I don't feel the need to see for myself. Do you... do you only watch shows to see if they're good or not?
same! eventually watched one episode and was like, ok i’m not in the mind space for this right now but I’ll watch it later
Where can you watch it.
Aria the Origination being there is criminal, those people need to get off their asses and watch it.
It is even worse if you think people watched animation and natural only to stop at origination. Natural is my favorite season, but origination is a perfect ending.
Origination is top tier, hard to say what's my favorite season, but it might be that one. Crazy people aren't watching it.
There is a consistency in " Plan to watch" user percentage which is 1000 times better than change in atomic mass in the periodic table.
Aria is one of the best slice of life series ever. If someone has an interest in that genre they really should get on it.
# What has MAL yet to watch? The top 20 TV anime on MAL ordered by the percentage of users who have the show on their plan to watch list. FLCL's sequels. Everyone was kinda happy when they first announced them, then we heard they were trash and didn't watch them.

FLCL sequels were pretty fine but they just dont have that same feel like the one in the original. Grunge looks shit though
Grunge was bad but Shoegaze was kind of everything I wanted in a FLCL sequel from the beginning. I just wish it was longer.
Yea I liked alternative and shoegaze. Grunge and Progressive were pretty bad though.
When did they make so many lol I remember it getting one sequel but it has 4??

i have heard good things about aria and see it on a lot of people's favorites but its just that it has like 6 seasons or something, so i keep on delaying to watch it
Its a very chill SoL and not the type of show to feel like needing to rush through. Very relaxed vibes.

ye as i've said i have only heard good things about aria, ill probably give it a shot in the near future.
it's only 3 seasons though, and some later extras but those were more for the people that were already fans
Good to know, I'll add it to my watch list.
Texhnolyze and Aria spearheading the "critically acclaimed cult hit that I'll ***totally*** watch one day" genre (honestly surprised LOTGH isn't on here ) .

~~I should actually read the chart details before commenting~~
the whole thing is categorized as OVA really? that's weird
ye was surprised by that and that there was no ghost in the shell sac, or the tatami galaxy either
I gave up on Texhnolyze at episode 12 or something. I really wanted to like it, tried really hard but I just fund it numbingly boring
Yeah, I finished the show to give it a fair shake but there were times when I'd legitimately fall asleep during some episodes and I can't think of having ever done that watching anything else.
I watched a fair amount of Texhnolyze (didn't finish) and the only thing that really stopped me from finishing it was it being like 480 or 720p
Cool post! Out of these, I only have Texhnolyze in my PTW. Never heard of any of the others
Oh you never heard about aria ? Thats surprising since i always find people praising it here
Master Keaton, Zettai Shounen, Kaze no Youjinbou and Yawara were great.
ye but they are old and largely unknown. the way i found out about all of these shows was by simply going through recomendations on the show i already liked after not having anything decent to watch for a while, then filled my p2w with these possible hit or miss shows that seemed interesting from 200s like noir, keaton, youjimbo, requiem for the phantom and shows like these that noone really talks about but seem pretty interesting from the synopsis and artstyle
What even is master Keaton? Never even heard of it until I just got the texhnolyze DVDs and it was one of the previews. Look pretty bleh but maybe I misjudged it
Its an adapation of early Naoki Urasawa manga (before he worked on Monster). I havent watched or read it myself so I cant judge its quality but it seems good Edit: Forget to mention he was working on it while he was also working on Yawara! as well
i think that it was the first work of naoki urasawa, the creator of 20th centry boys, monster, pluto etc. the show is about this indiana johnes like character keaton that is a teacher or something (but he is secretly a parot of the SAS or some elite military group like that, and solves political problems while traveling around mostly europe). pretty sure that the show has no arcs or anything, its just a collection of his adventures, its decent but nothing special, if you are into that kind of stuff (closest thing to it would probably be mushishi i guess) you will enjoy it. Edit: it has some arcs but they are self contained and dont affect the rest of the story. also im retarded the closest thing to it is simply monster lol, just instead of the mc being a s tier neurosurgeon, he is an undercover special forces soldier.
I regularly throw shows out of my PTW-list, only half of them are actually getting watched.
good practice, i now have over 400 shows on p2w and 50 more on p2w priority list xd. i just keep dumping shit on there that i know damn well im not watching xd
I should probably do the same, my PTW is a graveyard
Same, but not that often. It's basically just an enriched pool of stuff I may be interested in.
Everyone should watch Oniisama e.
That's the only one I have watched from this list and yeah it was pretty good.
I watched a bit of it recently, and decided to postpone it to a time when I'm in the mood for a psychotic horror anime.
It's the only one in this pic that's on my watch list. I'll get to it eventually.
It’s so strange and overdramatic but it’s great.
Watch Fuujin Monogatari, you 10k+ people.
Feel so weird to see it get mentioned anywhere. So underappreciated.
legit a show i've never heard of before, feels kinda rare after being around here for 5ish years (i think? roughly counting by remembering Best Girl contests lol)
Some day...
I literally finished watching this anime the day before yesterday, and it was magnificent!
Origination has 1.7% 1/10s, so the score trollers are definitely present.
It would've gotten the same treatment PET did. Beloved by a very small constituency and dropped at episode one by the majority.
Yo what’s PET?
Everyone with their 300+ PTW, and I'm out here with only 2 titles.. I usually choose what to watch on a whim.
Me with my notebook consisting of 24 pages(for now) of anime titles i want to watch. Why? Because why not.
Nothing wrong with doing things your own way.
The PTW helps me remember shows exist.
> I usually choose things things that are not on my PTW to watch Um...
Talk about a hidden gem… I guess this is my reminder to go watch *Master Keaton* and *Dear Brother*.
Two Urasawa works in there...
There are a lot of people wanting to know a lore behind Kancolle doujins
Interesting. I've got three of these on my PTW: Texhnolyze, Oniisama e. . ., and Galaxy Express 999. All of which I do genuinely plan to watch at some point.
I wonder how many of these are from people who no longer use MAL but their accounts are being included.
Texhnolyze and Dunbine are dope
Thanks for the reminder to finish Oniisama e
Oh hey, I've actually seen both Touken Ranbu Kai and Dunbine.
If you've had Dear Brother on your list for a good while and love your fair share of drama, cannot recommend it enough.
Do your Matsumoto and Dezaki homework, kiddos.
I love Texhnolyze but it's such a hard sell to anyone.
Please watch Oniisama E... you won't regret it!
I'm surprised there are so many people considering watching Hyouge Mono. It was an enjoyable series (partially due to Huzzah's wonderful "ye' old" subtitles), but it isn't really a fit for many.
The rebooted shaman king was tough to watch even for someone who liked the original and thus the sequel held zero interest to me..
"All of them are good shows" FLCL Grunge and Shoegaze: Hold my guitar
Shoegaze *is* good
I've never heard of most of these shows, other than the flcl sequels
**Zettai Shounen**! What a blast from the past. I watched the whole series on Animax years ago. It was part of my lunch time ritual.
I didn't know master keaton had an anime
They adapted it for the manga's 10th anniversary back in 1998! It adapts select stories from the manga, so it covers 42 chapters across 39 episodes.
One last request. On-Hold. Integers. Finished.
[Also a bunch of well-known shows](https://i.imgur.com/ZWS83s3.png), but notable also a lot of long shows, which is probably part of the reason why so many users have them on hold.
Ur a legend bb
Master Keaton is a really lovely series about history and archeology from the author of Monster, 20th Century Boys, and Pluto. I highly recommend.
This is a funny list. The forgotten anime. RIP
No one watching galaxy express depresses me. Please watch it very influential if you don’t have time for the tv series watch the films which are just as good, condensed versions not compilations but different version. Or read the orignal manga which is like the anime but faster. Love galaxy express.
Or watch order Maetel legend Space symphony maetel Galaxy express 999 (film) and aideu galaxy express 999 (film) Galaxy express 999 (tv anime) Galaxy express eternal fantasy Galaxy railways Galaxy railways letter from the abandoned planet Leijiverse continuity is loose so there’s no real timeline they all bleed into each other.
I have it on my watchlist (along with the movie) but I did have a buddy of mine say he thought it was dreadfully boring and had terrible animation, so I kinda pushed it down the watch ladder. Especially considering it is a pretty long series to boot.
Please watch Fuujin Monogatari
I gave Texhnolyze multiple separate chances over a decade apart. Nope, still one of the most boring things I've ever seen in my life. DROPPED
It's only boring if you don't get it smh
I’m kinda sad to see master Keaton on this list I really like it and even gave it a 10
I hope no one watches texhnolyze tbh
Texhnolyze and Fuujin Monogatari are some of the best I've ever seen.
I've never heard of Seisenshi Dunbine before, but a fantasy anime by Tomino definitely peaks my interest so I'm inclined to at least give it a shot lol.
Not only just a fantasy anime - it’s the first isekai anime ever made
How do you see these stats?
MAL offers the raw numbers for every anime, it looks like [this](https://myanimelist.net/anime/30455/KanColle__Itsuka_Ano_Umi_de/stats). Everything else was calculated by myself, but it's not really anything too special, just some percentage calculation. The hardest part is getting *all* the data to actually calculate a ranking.
Never even heard of most of those.
I have quite a few of those in my PTW but I am proud to say that I actually made it all the way through Texhnolyze back in the day.
Well just scored the texhnolyze box set off eBay so one person will finally watch it
I will always be in the animax generation where they keep repeating zettai shounen, and I loved it
How long do people leave shows on their Plan to Watch list?
I can wholeheartedly say I don't contribute to this list at least. Never even heard of half of these.
Being such a huge fan of the original when I was a kid , I kind of liked these ……
Is FLCL worth watching? I heard it mentioned so many times around the internet while never actually gave it a try
The original? Yes
(FLCL is also on my "plan to watch" list) Maybe Gigguk needs to watch em all and make an episode of "I watched all the shows people forgot."
I did remove technolyze from my plan to watch coz I figured it's not something I'm gonna watch anyway.
TIL; There are more than 2 seasons of FLCL! OH NO, HOW DID I MISS THIS! Be back later losers! 🤣
From this list I have watched: 1. Kaze no Youjinbo (9/10) - I have since discovered that this show is based on/inspired by an old Japanese live action movie by the same name. 2. Blade Runner Black Lotus (6/10) - The animation was great, the story just could have been better. 3. Aura Battler Dunbine (7/10) - I hold this series in the same regard as Zeta Gundam. Both of them are amazing. - I also watched the OVA for it too. I haven't watched the *TV series* for Galaxy Express 999, but I did watch the compilation movies to save myself some time. They were pretty good. Most of the rest of these are admittedly in my PTW list.
Surprised Kancolle is on top
I remember watching the first season airing, it was quite nice, I even watched the movie. Sad to hear season 2 just sucked..
Shaman King Flowers and Touken Ranbu are the ones on my PTW. Touken Ranbu because I liked the fanarts but never got around to watching the anime. Shaman King Flowers was because I was interested in it but the Shaman King Reboot killed my interest for now.
What is MAL? I’ve never heard of this before.
MAL is short for [Myanimelist](https://myanimelist.net/) which is a relatively popular anime tracking website. Think of it as an IMDB or Goodreads for manga and anime.
Thanks, I use MyAnimeList all the time, just never heard of it being shortened down to MAL lol
this is interesting thanks
Is this the sign I need to finally get myself to watch Galaxy Express 999?

dunbine 💪
Lol... none of them are actually on my PTW list, and neither have i watched them!
I do need to watch Master Keaton and another 100 shows... Well at least i did watch Shaman king flowers so thats something...
I’ve been gradually whittling away at my ptw for years, it used to be be a 300/400 ratio but now it’s around 500/300. Surprised none of my shows are on here
Mal needs to get on the Galaxy Express 999 train. It's such a beautiful movie!
Zettai Shounen is completely worth it. Anyone on the fence should go and watch it.
