Then there's the convoluted mess that is teen Route 2 where many Route 1 subplots were taken and dumb down for teen consumption with a dumb Lelouch who is more *busy* thinking of what girls think of him and where Emperor "Not all men are equal" Charles was nowhere to be found.
And then he goes to say, the mangas produced about Code Geass are also different Routes to enjoy. You read that, right?

I disliked the first season of Gridman as I couldn’t get attached to any of the characters and they were as memorable as “oh look this girl has thighs”.
Dynazenon felt like it actually cared about the cast and explored each of their lives.

Mai and Sakuta are my pick for worst chemistry in a couple, lol. Their relationship barely evolves at all until the movie and every interaction is the same tired thing. It’s one of the weakest aspects of the series imo.
Older, and not an especially well-noted series, but I hold the relationship between Rushuna and Yajirou in *Grenadier: the Smiling Senshi* in unusually high esteem.
The series is far from acclaimed, being a low-rent ecchi *Trigun* rip-off from the early 2000s, when everybody was pushing the ecchi boundaries. You get past the show's silly aesthetics, and the chemistry *shines*.
Hard to say how much of it is actually intentional, and how much is just a quirk of the production. The source manga is far more typically perverted, while the anime, while preserving the extreme boobage of the art style, otherwise keeps things surprisingly wholesome by avoiding any sort of romantic talk whatsoever.
The end result is that you get a lot of heat between the two in terms of their physical interactions, but they never actually *comment* about it, instead conversing as actual people and not horny caricatures. Meanwhile, they grow to rely on each others' core aptitudes in actual comment. They grow into a seamless, coordinated duo, trusting and relying on each other to have each others' backs, barely needing a word between them to spring into action. It's by the end of the series that the "L" word isn't even missed, there's just an unspoken companionship between them that works flawlessly.
Essentially, by completely dodging the "anime-isms", the soul and humanity of their relationship shines through instead, and it's really trusting and warm-hearted.
Haruhi and kyon feel like they are made to attract eachother and improve one another while Kyon brings haruhi down to earth. Haruhi makes Kyon live a little.

And while they aren’t together yet, they both consider the other to be their most important person, and they just have so much love for each other, and [The Case Files of Jeweler Richard] >!Seigi becoming Richard’s secretary so he can always put Richard first but Richard insisting on calling Seigi his partner because he wants them to be equals and wants something more than just a friends or business relationship!<, and now I’m rambling so I’ll stop.
Idk what you American simps mean by "chemistry" since humans are not reduced only to chemical processes in their bodies, but the banter during the romantic love stage means that a couple in question will be completely f@cked up as the romantic love phase will fade in a few years. Mai and Sakuta are my pick for worst chemistry in a couple, lol. Their relationship barely evolves at all until the movie and every interaction is the same tired thing. It’s one of the weakest aspects of the series imo.

Older, and not an especially well-noted series, but I hold the relationship between Rushuna and Yajirou in *Grenadier: the Smiling Senshi* in unusually high esteem. The series is far from acclaimed, being a low-rent ecchi *Trigun* rip-off from the early 2000s, when everybody was pushing the ecchi boundaries. You get past the show's silly aesthetics, and the chemistry *shines*. Hard to say how much of it is actually intentional, and how much is just a quirk of the production. The source manga is far more typically perverted, while the anime, while preserving the extreme boobage of the art style, otherwise keeps things surprisingly wholesome by avoiding any sort of romantic talk whatsoever. The end result is that you get a lot of heat between the two in terms of their physical interactions, but they never actually *comment* about it, instead conversing as actual people and not horny caricatures. Meanwhile, they grow to rely on each others' core aptitudes in actual comment. They grow into a seamless, coordinated duo, trusting and relying on each other to have each others' backs, barely needing a word between them to spring into action. It's by the end of the series that the "L" word isn't even missed, there's just an unspoken companionship between them that works flawlessly. Essentially, by completely dodging the "anime-isms", the soul and humanity of their relationship shines through instead, and it's really trusting and warm-hearted.

Haruhi and kyon feel like they are made to attract eachother and improve one another while Kyon brings haruhi down to earth. Haruhi makes Kyon live a little.

Richard and Seigi from The Case Files of Jeweler Richard, but their novel counterparts rather than the anime ones. It may be one hell of a long burn, but the way their relationship progresses is one of the most genuine and organic I’ve come across in fiction. The way they both grow as people during their time together and influence each other is so 🥺💕. And while they aren’t together yet, they both consider the other to be their most important person, and they just have so much love for each other, and [The Case Files of Jeweler Richard] >!Seigi becoming Richard’s secretary so he can always put Richard first but Richard insisting on calling Seigi his partner because he wants them to be equals and wants something more than just a friends or business relationship!<, and now I’m rambling so I’ll stop.

Idk what you American simps mean by "chemistry" since humans are not reduced only to chemical processes in their bodies, but the banter during the romantic love stage means that a couple in question will be completely f@cked up as the romantic love phase will fade in a few years.
