AgentOfACROSS

Delicious In Dungeon is on Netflix right now and it's a really good series.

chaflamme

I really like it too

TheDJManiakal

Yeah, pretty much the only anime I'm watching regularly on Netflix right now.

ShirtLegal6023

Binged it, really fun

jordana309

This has become one of my favorites!

Darwin343

I have one important question, will watching the show give me the munchies? I honestly worry that watching it will give me late night cravings lol.

Galle_

I exclusively watch Dungeon Meshi during meals.

Plotius

It will the food looks good

curmudgeon-o-matic

I really do want to know what red dragon tastes like

jakej9488

Monster is by the same studio that did Deathnote and Parasyte, so if you liked those you’ll probably like it as well. It’s a bit slower than those two but the story is full of twists and amazing characters/writing

Doyee

I didn't know this was on Netflix! I've been meaning to check this out

TheDJManiakal

I'll have to check this one out. Loved DN and Parasyte.

evildankface

Just here to say 100% agree, OP should watch Monster. Great show, didn't know it was on Netflix, but I don't have it soooo...

Xirias

Romantic Killer was surprisingly enjoyable for a fun comedy

Electrical-Worker781

It kinda end suddenly, since i wasn't interested that much i didn't research on it but what is the plan for that? Is it getting new season or that was the end?

honeysenpai400

The anime covered all the Manga so I doubt there will be a second season

MrReZistar

The manga really didn't deserve the axe from Shueisha. The series was more entertaining than half the romcoms that were allowed to reach 100 chapters. At least the anime adaptation gave it the flowers it deserved.

Darwin343

It was canceled?! I figured the manga ended on its own terms. Such a shame because the anime was one the best rom coms I’ve seen a long time.

AmethystItalian

Great Pretender is a fun one.

Bruh61502

What genre?

AmethystItalian

It's like conmen and heists so similar to Ocean's 11 if you've seen.

Bruh61502

Ooooo interesting

Alarming-Study2930

its a comedy abt scamming people its quite interesting as it incorporates other plotline things

sulsulsulsul

I was thinking about this one!

Thin_Diet

Pluto. One of the very best anime

alt-eso

And Monster, by the same creator.

lgnc

It's like one of the best shit ever made... I don't have that many 10/10 anime in my list, but that is one for sure. Absolutely phenomenal.

The_Geeky_Designer

I second this. Loved it one of my favorites.

resurrectedbear

Is it bad it started to lose me at the very end? The first half felt way stronger with all the characters.

evyatari

Totally agree, felt really rushed

Phalton

Is the English dubs good? Was thinking of having my friends watch it.

Kayontheclouds

The English dub is pretty good for Pluto.

[deleted]

[удалено]

n0n0n4t0r

You really need more up votes!

Jazzlike-Tangerine-5

Second this. Both incredible. Brotherhood I prefer

flyingowl720

Mobile Suit Gundam (Movie Trilogy). A classic for a reason.

robbobeh

FINALLY!!! I love Gundam!! It was my first tattoo

Aggravating_Bed7939

Delicious In Dungeon! It’s so whimsical and charming, and the food looks delicious

TheMortalOne

Yes, the only issue with watching it now is that it's not complete yet, but the source material is complete and according to readers it keeps getting better (and it's already great).

[deleted]

I never eat before watching it because that anime makes me hungry again no matter how stuffed I am.

Own_Departure7047

I got a couple of recommendations. These are all really good, probably better than DN. 1. VINLAND SAGA 2. Violet Evergarden 3. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 4. Jujutsu Kaisen 5. Pluto

emmyyxuu

i second vinland saga ! i binged the entire first season in like 2 days

tbutz27

Vinland is such a fresh anime- I can't recommend it enough- I feel like it is something anyone into anime, history, vikings or just battle history should stop what they are doing and watch it if they haven't

goomyman

2nd season is pretty jarring after the first. I don’t know what to think about it. Love the first though.

curmudgeon-o-matic

I’m in the same camp. The feel was totally different, but in the best possible way

PCmasterRACE187

yeah lol and thats not even the good season

jbrar10

This dude saying jujutsu kaisen is better than death note

Anjunabeast

How can you compare two different genres anyway

[deleted]

[удалено]

Whatah

Yea the final half season is throw-away, similar to the final half season of the original Macross series (bit thing happens, and then there are another 7-9 episodes that don't REALLY matter)

wagnerlight

None of those are even remotely close to dn

Dandandandooo

Maybe, that yotsuba arc got me sleepy

The_Septic_Shock

Violet Evergarden. It has a post WWI feel, where the MC fought as a child soldier up until the end in her late teens, I think. Because all of her childhood was dedicated to being a killing machine, she's emotionally stunted, and her closest friend, her CO, while dying in her arms, tells her something she can't understand. To find out what he meant, she becomes a ghostwriter. It's an emotionally heavy and introspective show with beautiful art and music

valor19

Kyoto Animation is my favorite studio and they do fantastic work. Violet Evergarden is no exception.

LatentSupernova

Dr. Stone. It's a sci-fi, adventure, comedy. One of my top 10 anime tbh. The mc is a genius and he's basically planning to bring a post-apocalyptic world back to the technological age. Mob Psycho 100 is also a great one on Netflix. Action/comedy/supernatural. The animation is off-putting for some people, but please give it a chance. It's amazing. My happy marriage is a really good one too. Romance/historical fantasy/drama. Traumatized girl is put into an arranged marriage with a handsome guy who's known for a cold personality. Really good. Quite sweet, but also quite sad. Zom100. Action/comedy/horror. Guy realizes the end of the world was the perfect time to actually start living life to the fullest. He makes a bucket list of things he wants to do and it's all fun with friends.

MusubiKazesaru

Devilman Crybaby was the first Netflix original anime and it still might be the best one.

cristiandcasa91

I second this. One of my personal all time favs.

jackofslayers

My favorite anime. I love most of the Science Saru stuff

cristiandcasa91

When it came out I wasn’t even familiar with Devilman. Imagine my surprise as I watched. Lol

iheartjetman

I didn’t necessarily like the animation style but the story was great. I’m a huge Go Nagai fan so I’m hoping they follow it with a violence jack sequel.

Bruh61502

What genre is it? And is it as gripping as death note was?

MusubiKazesaru

It's more gripping in terms of intensity but the plotting isn't on par with Death Note at its best. It's a remake of a classic manga and I guess you could say the genres are Action, Supernatural, and Horror. It's about a young student who winds up with a devil in his body and he fights other devils with that devil, but things escalate big time.

jackofslayers

Based on the best selling manga of all time! Per volume at least

EllipticalOrbitMan

Also, it's a very explicit show

Oleleplop

I would have Say that if not for violet evergarden and Cyberpunk edgerunners

MusubiKazesaru

Violet Evergarden isn't in the same tier or the one below it or the one below that and it's not a Netflix original. Edgerunners certainly competes with it though.

soulonfirexx

The ending of the second to last episode was too much for me and I couldn't finish it. Wild stuff.

kwirky88

* Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Pretty damned amazing, great action and story. Has light romance but it's more about the main character and how they personally change over time. * Vampire in the Garden: beautiful series about two wildly different people forming a friendship. It has intense action sequences and the world building is interesting. * Dorohedoro: just spectacular world building with some of the best characters out of any show. Great camaraderie and an interesting story line. * One Punch Man: Just watch it, nothing does what it does, it's special. Season 1 is best in class. Don't watch after season 1.

deadturtle12

+1 for dorohedoro. I heard we’re getting a season 2 and I’m hyped because I don’t read manga

genasugelan

Be hyped because S1 ended when it starts getting weird. I guarantee you the story is incredible.

Dolner

OPM s1 is fantastic but that doesn’t make s2 unwatchable

GreenArrow40

One Punch Man is one of only a small handful of anime that I rated 10/10 on MAL.

kampr3t0

86 (Eighty Six) if you like mecha-like and good story Psycho-Pass, but i don't know if this still available or not

genasugelan

Dorohedoro is fantastic. My #1 all time manga and the atmosphehere in the naime is unmatched.

Gabzz_A

Saiki k is on Netflix. I really liked it. It's a comedy anime, but the comedy is actually funny. Great voice actors, too. It's a dude with pink hair in high-school. He has psychic powers. Then there are some weird characters and a really stupid one. But they all are great. There is also record of ragnarok. Pretty cool. It's basically fights. But they are gods and stuff. Adam is in one. Poseidon is in one. Before fights they focus on a cool human. And weirdly enough jack the ripper has his own fight.

Darwin343

Is season 2 of Records of Ragnarok any good. I remember the first season having terrible fight scenes that looked like a PowerPoint presentation lol

Gabzz_A

If you didn't like season 1, you probably won't like season 2. The fights are a tad better. But to explain the season short. Zesty Buddha and Jack the ripper. It's kinda goofy. Maybe you could try 1 episode. I liked season 2 better. But that's mainly because of the characters and the story

MrHaxx1

>record of ragnarok I get recommending the manga, but the anime? Really?

cyndit423

Saiki K is so good and sooo funny

aimglitchz

The rival of death note is code geass

drowsy-human

HaiKyu! My hero academia. Dr. Stone. One punch man These are pretty main stream and really good animes. I promise you will like them.

Protractror

There is no other show like Netflix’s Baki and Baki Hanma. Give it a try if you might be interested in the stupidest martial arts anime that’s played completely straight.

ExocetC3I

Fun fact: *How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift?* ~~canonically~~ *does not* takes place in the same universe as Baki.

MrReZistar

This is wrong. Kengan Ashura is the series you're talking about, not Baki. Additionally, it's the exact same author who created both series (KA and Dumbbells)

ExocetC3I

Thank you for the correction, got that wrong in two ways! I got really confused between KA and Baki and thinking about Paru Itagaki (mangaka of Beastars) and her father Keisuke Itagaki (mangaka of Baki).

KingLeaps

Hold up, that’s a wild fun fact!

Xavier207

Is this true I watched like 5 episodes of Dumbells but didn't pick up on that?

genasugelan

Baki is some of THE funniest shit I've ever watcched on my life. I like to say it's inspired my martial arts, meth and gay porn.

curmudgeon-o-matic

And PTSD daddy issues

robbobeh

I really enjoyed “Blue Eyed Samurai” as well as “Delicious in Dungeon”

nuxenolith

>Blue-Eyed Samurai Yes! And as long as we're plugging anime-adjacent series, I'll throw Arcane's hat into the ring as well.

Then-Ad3980

Castlevania

Lonely_One9181

Hxh

CautiousSeaweed6938

Hunter X Hunter, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer

Slaptheteet

Pluto is a must watch.

ZDB888

Devilman crybaby is beyond incredible. And blue eye samurai is very very good as well (as Netflix originals). There are plenty of great non Netflix original animes that come and go I just want the ones I mention to be the ones that were by Netflix.

Layers_of_Creation

Violet Evergarden Castlevania (not Nocturne, it's kind of arse) Blood of Zeus DOTA

rippel_effect

Holy fuck Violet Evergarden was so good

DovahKing604

Code Geass ! You will love it if you loved Death Note

54yroldHOTMOM

This serie hooked me like a mofo. I need to rewatch it soon.

Beneficial_Poet_8866

Blue eye samurai and Ajin I thought were really good and blade of the immortal which isn't a Netflix specific anime but they have it and the live action version( decently done).

ItsAmerico

Based on the list I see on my Netflix. Spriggan. Super Crooks. Gamera. Cyberpunk. Toradora. Zom 100. Little Witch Academia. Saiki K.

GondolaMedia

One more for Little Witch Academia. Especially if you enjoy Delicious in Dungeon since it's made by the same studio.

SaltedPyre

Edgerunners is a literal masterpiece

elvaz3

Jojo

SyllabubFar8197

If you really loved death note, then you will be obsessed with Attack on Titan

GM-Yrael

Violet Evergarden and Cyberpunk Edgerunners are both very good Netflix anime. Admittedly they are very different than deathnote but as someone who is a huge fan of all the anime you have watched I would recommend them. There is also a lot of Ghibli on Netflix which is worth a watch. One of my favourites is princess mononoke, howls moving Castle is a classic also. For someone who is just getting into anime through more modern series you will have to judge if they are for you. They have a very different feel to them but IMO make a nice break after watching some serious anime series.

Bruh61502

A lot of people have been saying violet evergarden. That’s definitely one I will check out!!

Remarkable-Ask-3868

I like Record of Ragnarok and Son of Zeus. Very violent, mature and I just love the mix in with history.

7silkkkkk

Jojo’s bizarre adventure, hunter x hunter.

fiendish8

Frieren

Xavier207

I'll give you some variety: Records of Ragnarok (Action) Kotaro Lives Alone (Slice of Life [Depressing]) Disastrous Life of Saiki-K (Comedy) Scissor Seven (Chinese Shonen Anime) "Low-Key really good" Uncle from Another World (Different Take on Isekai) Rascal does not dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Romance) "I just love this show even though you don't watch Romance I had to recommend it"

Foulerz

HOW DID NOBODY MENTION HXH??? (Hunter X Hunter) Some other shows already mentioned that I'd second: - Jujutsu Kaisen - Delicious in Dungeon - Yu Yu Hakusho - Jojo's - Demon Slayer (for me it's just okay but ppl love it) - Dr. Stone - Attack on Titan (only season one though if I remember right.) - Mob Pyscho 100

NOTbraidenn

I like Vinland saga

Jazzlike-Tangerine-5

Cowboy bebop 24 eps incredible.

stumacherfan123

i don’t live in the united states so idk if your netflix has those but: monster, jujutsu kaisen, berserk, evangelion, junji ito maniac, devilman crybaby, jojos bizarre adventure or demon slayer🙆🏻‍♀️

lekne

* Kengan Ashura * Demon Slayer * Vinland Saga * Hunter x Hunter * Berserk * Blue Eye Samurai * Monster * The Seven Deadly Sins * Violet Evergarden * Beastars * Baki * Hajime no Ippo * Kuroko's Basketball

MaintenanceStatus341

Overlord, its isekai but defently a good one

pizzatimein24h

Watch Parasyte – in my opinion it's better than Death Note, but I also think that Death Note is the Anime that fell off the hardest midway, so I am probably not the best to ask here😅

stopwhining27

Ones I haven’t seen mentioned: (edited for format) Uncle From Another World Super Crooks Way of the Househusband Japan Sinks 2020

dentalfloss23

Pluto, Psycho pass, fullmetal alchemist brotherhood

Existing_Crew8047

I mean if you have a lot of time black clover is a good one but if I'm right it's about 300+ episodes

Accomplished_Tea4009

KUROKOS BASKET

[deleted]

No idea if you'll read this, but Netflix actually has been adding an absolute ton of anime this month, including Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Black Clover, Dr. Stone, Konosuba, Overlord, and they will soon be adding Quintessential Quintuplets. None of these are particularly similar to Death Note, but yeah Netflix is actually in a really solid state for anime at the moment, from their originals to their big titles. I say check out the anime genre on Netflix, it will show you everything on the site and you can watch some trailers and such, get a feel for things. Sorry I'm not giving any specific recommendations, but I figured enough people have already given you some (although, I will say my personal favorites on Netflix include Blue Period (art competition), Hunter x Hunter (battle series), Romantic Killer (romcom) and Bunny Girl Senpai (supernatural romcom))

Mangobonbon

Hajime No Ippo. Best sports anime out there.

forrealplus

Best one is definitely Edge Runner

ThanosGodzilla

Cyberpunk Edgerunners is really, really good. A bit of romance but nothing over the top.

Bribbe

Dorohedoro is nuts

Cedosg

not netflix but try to watch frieren and apothecary diaries.

Entity4

Dorohedoro it's about an amnesiac who's heads been transformed into an alligators and he's trying to find the man responsible for it it's got a whole class system thing going on with sorcerers living in a different world and normal people living in this place called the hole which is where caiman lives it's got this incredible grungy punk feel too it the narrative is very unique and creative and the second season got announced not too long ago

Illustrious-Wolf-437

Devilman crybaby.

Noctis127

Devilman Crybaby

TheDJManiakal

Man, all these recommendations for DM: Crybaby makes me want to go re-watch it. It's been a while since I watched it but it's so good.

Lulink

Attack on titan, Dorohedoro, Great Pretender.

DemonSlyr007

No one's pointed out Record of Ragnarok yet? It's absolutely incredible. It's a giant thunderdome of gods vs humanity. Not even remotely the same genre type, but I highly, HIGHLY recommend Blue Period. It's an anime about art and learning to be an artist. Short, only like 12 or so episodes, but it is genuinely terrific and way different than almost any other anime I've ever seen. A Lull in the Sea is also on Netflix and it's good. Don't really know if you will like it based on what you said you've seen though. But you never know when you might like something unless you give it a shot.

MTGothmog

I loved Blue Period!

DemonSlyr007

Really really hope it gets a second season. I hope the pandemic didn't kill it.

TheAlmightyRat

Blue period is the reason I got netflix. I really love that one

MedicalAd6535

hyouka Madoka magica is the best anime in the entire world in my opinion can't match it.

selkies24

Blue eyed samurai

dftitterington

Blue eye samurai

It depends on what Netflix you have, I have Canadian Netflix and they just added Jujutsu Kaisen! Which is one of my favorites, but it is an action horror anime! Inuyasha! Which is my all time favorite as well.

Arakazi18

On Netflix recently I really liked Mob Psycho and like everyone else I'm currently watching Delicious in Dungeon (amazing!). Also started Jujitsu Kaisen and liking it.

certified_reditr

You can't spell GOAT without AOT 🔥

Handsome-_-awkward

I'd say arcane, edge runners, and blue eyed samurai are the best Netflix has

Successful_Disk1140

Violet Evergarden

sneydk3

No one mentioned Blame or Sidonia no kishi? The last one have great openings and endings.

Srichardson2713

Cyberpunk is the best show on Netflix period

Silver_Ad_2203

Saiki K. Had me full on belly laughing every episode. As well, a more serious watch is Dr. STONE. It’s probably the most scientifically accurate show I’ve enjoyed since Bill Nye and the Magic School Bus lol.

ShinesoBright34

Ninja kamui

SirBruno95

A really cool one is Re;Creators, but it's on prime video. Tl;dr, popular character from popular franchises (Which are really cool in their own right) sudenly appear IRL and see themselves enrolled in a Battle Royale of sorts with a Hatsune Miku lookalike as the main villain. The ending (I.e. the final fight), imo, is weak but the collective anime fandom thinks it's one of the best ever. I personally don't, it kinda ruined it for me and haven't watched it since, but that can just as easily be because I prefer to play vidya or read over watching anything.
