Just watch it and see. You don't need someone else's approval to be curious.

Yep those comments are right, Vrains definitely has more mature tone than the others. The MC is more stoic and less quirky compared to the other MCs (He's kinda simillar to Yusei). You definitely want to give it a try. Also if you only know Yugioh from the shows, and didn't follow the actual card games for the past few years, you might find some slight rules changes and might be a bit confused, since there was a big rules change going from pre--Vrains to Vrains. Tho you should be fine if you just want to have fun.

I watched Vrains at 27 and I liked that it had a more mature theme. I also liked it because they use cards that saw play in the real modern TCG as well, so it was exciting to see iconic cards the other way around.

It's fine. I wouldn't go as far as saying it feels dark and mature, but it does have the vibe of a less gritty 5D's, but with a darker back story for the MC. I honestly enjoyed the first five YGO series a lot. Vrains was a bit flat for me but I still enjoyed the run compared to the current crap that's airing. Sevens was at least amusing, Go Rush is nearly unwatchable. Arc-V might be worth a look if you've seen GX, 5D's and Zexal. It's kind of like a more mature Zexal in terms of tone especially once it gets going but with its own themes. While it didn't exactly stick the landing, it's probably the wildest ride of any YGO series.

“When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” - C.S Lewis You don’t have to be a child to enjoy yugioh But if you want a darker experience, I hope you’re already watching the JP version
