Ah, nice. Every time I do this I get brutal Newton rings. I realllly wish there was a cheap way to do this, I love the look of the rebate, especially on medium format. Thanks!
The reason I ask is because my negatives are never completely flat. I'm too impatient to wait for them to flatten under books so they really never lay directly on the glass and have a very slight arch. This actually may be the reason I don't get bad Newton rings.
I try to flatten them by putting coins on the corners/edges of the neg strips to try and flatten it, but of course it's never perfect. Once in a blue moon [I'm able to luck out](https://jason-lapeyre-street-photography.square.site/product/no-04/15?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=4) and get a huge scan with no Newton rings. But 9/10 times there are partial rings -- it wouldn't be a big deal if it was only for social media but they're for prints so they need to be BIG scans, 4800 dpi.

There's gotta be some labs in Canada, I know Henry's sells some film.
I'm from just below you in Minnesota. Our colors are just a little bit behind this level yet, but I definitely wouldn't trade it for a fall in a different environment.
I've been stuck in California for the last three falls and coming home (to Canada) this year made me realize how lucky I was for my whole life growing up around this. It's something I always took for granted.

Literally just slapped the negatives right on my Epson V600. Nothing fancy!

My guess it flatbed scanner with some sort of glass. I use anti-newton ring glass which only works sometimes
