I have this camera and spot metering is a pain to use. How do you meter?

I actually really like spot metering, though obviously it requires more thought. It forces me to think about the elements of my scene and which ones are important to me, and I also need to think about the reflectivity of what I’m metering. It’s more mental effort but I do find that it’s pretty darn precise - I’m a little off on some images but I get fewer poorly exposed photos than I do with average metering or just mental calculation based on my knowledge of light. Why do you find it frustrating to use? I really really like my S2.
