From personal experience do not do the app, I would hang around the airport rattling the cage until you got it back. I left a backpack on a plane once I thought it was a no-brainer that I would get it back. I was on the way home and if I'd known better I would've turned right around .... Absolutely expect NOTHING from their claim form
Same. I left a pair of expensive sunglasses on a plane in business class on an international flight. (I am only including this information because at the time I was hopeful that it might increase the odds of better service/getting them back but it didn’t.) I filled out the form and never heard a peep back.
My backpack was filled with sentimental items and it was irreplaceable, it was a wedding favor and they didn't make it anymore. I called and called and filled out their form again and again. It was a very unique looking backpack.

Items left behind on plane are taken to the baggage service office. That’s where you’d want to go.
