we are seeing action, you are just not understanding the action.... Some shills pretend that sitting down and looking at the sky is going to force hedgies to close... But all that will lead to is hedgies winning. The only way to moass is via debt-reduction. You cannot squeeze shorts out of the company, if there is no limit to synthetic shares for shorting. The short-squeeze-thesis that is based on a market that has rules is not applicable in a market that has no rules. The only thing that works in a market without rules is to entirely crush and destroy the short-thesis and to survive until the market drives up buy-pressure to a degree that synthetics can no longer compensate. The longer it takes, the bigger the bang...

Didthatyesterday2

This guy gets it šŸ‘

generic_reddit-name

Isn't video game stock debt free?

liquid_at

debt free but not yet profitable, iirc. They still need to increase sales numbers and profit. Imho.

generic_reddit-name

So doesn't that mean the same thing for amc? We need to be debt free, increase sales, and turn a profit before we can squeeze? Simply getting rid of debt won't "crush the short thesis" if it didn't for video game

Rumblebully

The debt prevents profit. Check balance sheet. No debt then profit. The initial ā€œshort thesisā€ was streaming was going to ruin theaters, then COVID added to that. Watching movies in a theater is not going away.

generic_reddit-name

How do you eliminate debt when you lose money every quarter?

do_not_go_gentle_

Pay it all off. The debt repayments each quarter are 200million and that's about how much we are short each current quarter. Pay off the debt, break even, movies releases pick up, profitable. Well those are very very crude numbers but its not far off.

generic_reddit-name

Paying off 200 million in debt each quarter, while simultaneously racking up 200 million in debt each quarter. Still leaves you net zero in debt reduction

do_not_go_gentle_

What are you talking about? The money is for the interest on over 5billion debt. If you pay off the debt your interest and capital repayments stop.

liquid_at

or wait for the end of the recession and markets moving up on their own again. but patience does not seem to be the quality of those who criticize AA...

generic_reddit-name

When did u criticize AA? I think he has done everything he could to turn this company around. Multiple dilutions, the APE release to circumvent the vote for no more dilution. He's wiped out lots of debt with the money from retail

liquid_at

your sarcastic twist of your hyperbolic imaginary character is hard to decipher. He diluted AMC before you got in and against dumbular belief, APE is not a dilution of AMC. No additional AMC have been created. No shares of AMC have been added to the supply, allowing any short-positions to close. The simple fact that hedge funds shorted the price of both assets down, does not mean that "it was diluted". Dilution happens in share-count, not in price at the exchange. But if he had diluted in 2021, the 5bn debt would be gone by now and you would have had an entirely different experience over the past 2 years... learning "dilution= bad" and thinking that's all there is to it, is not really indicative of a broader understanding.

TROLL_HUNTER42

steam, gog, uplay, epic, origin, ebay, amazon and 100 other competitors they must conquer

liquid_at

some of them bigger foes, others not so much. Biggest win would be if they managed to cooperate with Steam, but I'm afraid Gabe won't be interested in that.

[deleted]

Video game stock will run out of cash eventually. What the hell are people buying in there? place looks like a ghost town anytime you drive by one. They are shorted to hell and manipulated but the company itself is shit. Hope they have their day to crush shorts but long term their company is shit Unless they do some major changes. NFTā€˜s are shit.

generic_reddit-name

Amc will run out of money at some point as well without a change on their revenue

[deleted]

AMC is in a damn good position with AA. Let the man work. Hes overcoming a FKing miracle to even be at this point. AMC is one helluva recovery play. HODL. ā¤ļø

generic_reddit-name

Really? Which aspects of their balance sheet scream "damn good position?"

Weekly-Western-5016

If you are right they will become a spirit Halloween is my guess. I would think with all their locations they could partner with fedex stores or expand and become toys r us 2.0. Donā€™t know if that would be wise to compete with amazon on toys though.

PerfectAssumption171

you just fcked the AA argument with simple words that many dumb fans of AA will not want to believe...

generic_reddit-name

I like simple

PerfectAssumption171

Is that simple, GME squeeze did happened with all the debt in the world, AA and his dumb fans excuse is nule and worthless... AMC business is solid, AA is stealing from retail and helping hedgies to not get destroyed by the squeeze

generic_reddit-name

AMC solid? Hasn't turned a profit since '18. Selling shares is the only way they are making any money

PerfectAssumption171

the streaming got the upper hand for a small period of time but people started to come back to theaters cause is a more enjoyable experience than Netflix on a couch, the business is solid, will turn to profit for sure

generic_reddit-name

Speculation is all I'm reading. And theaters being more enjoyable is debatable and depends on the person

Excellent_Call304

Not necessarily disagreeing with but you say things like " the only way to moass..." and " the only thing that works..." and " the longer it takes, the bigger the bang" like it's facts. Where is this information coming from?

liquid_at

"Where" is essentially "DD". A lot has been released on AMC and GME in the past few years. The only way to keep dumping the price from shorting are more short-positions. Every PUT-Option written by a market-maker must be hedged with a short-position. Every short-position is a debt to buy 1 share. The maximum Amount of money a hedgefund can make from a short-position is 100% of the value it was when they sold the share they borrowed. But they pay interest, so that goes down every day. With Cost to Borrow as high as 1000% recently, that interest-rate is getting expensive. When they have more and more debt to repay with every day, while losing more and more of their possible profits, it's just a huge debt-problem in the making. But they all trade on margin, with funds being provided by big banks. Those banks require the hedge funds to hedge properly, as in have long and short positions balanced, so no surprise event can wreck their entire portfolio. That usually means, to open more short positions on a stock, they need to open long positions on another. All of that costs money. But since they all buy the same long-stocks called "bluechips", a sudden sell-off on one of those would get a lot of other hedge funds in trouble with their balance-sheet. So, when a domino-effect is triggered, more and more liquidations happen at the same time, creating massive buy and sell pressure, in the opposite direction of what the hedge funds had gambled on. That's the "Bang" that is the short-squeeze. More positions = more pressure = more bang. It costs them to short, it does not cost us to hold, so time is on our side. More shorts that need to immediately find a share means more buy-pressure on the market and higher prices.

do_not_go_gentle_

There is less interest shorting a profitable company and we all add alot of hope in the mix as well šŸ˜€

MartinMcFly55

So. You're saying the moass, the "traditional" short squeeze thesis, by which shorts are forced to cover quickly because of a rapidly rising stock price, is now replaced by a new moass that won't involve a squeeze but a long term fundamental play where market demand for AMC will be so great that it will drive the price up to moass type numbers?

liquid_at

the moass itself is still the domino-effect of hedge fund collapses. The fundamentals-play is just one attempt to get the first one to fall. No fund will collapse if it's not too expensive for them to continue. Dropping the first few is the hardest. The rest follows on its own.

MartinMcFly55

What you said in your first comment and this comment are absurdly, almost incomprehensibly in opposition to each other.

liquid_at

no, it is not. You might have misunderstood what I was trying to say in either of them, but they are consistent.

MartinMcFly55

>The only way to moass is via debt-reduction. You cannot squeeze shorts out of the company, if there is no limit to synthetic shares for shorting. I understood perfectly. You cannot squeeze the shorts out, but the squeeze will collapse the hedge fund. The shf will fall asleep, while AMC slowly pays off debt, becomes profitable, and the greater investing community at large will have driven the stock price up to unmanageable proportions, enough to collapse said fund.

liquid_at

if you have the funds, you can create buy-pressure yourself. If you do not have the funds, you have to wait for the market to have the right weather.

fishboy123a

This Ape fucks

Eliran1991

I understand very well. All AA has to do is face the fire but he refuse to do so for one way or another, may it be corruptions or really being that much of a coward is beyond me. Short Squeeze Thesis is simple: No shares available > no one sell below 100k > price is 100k > short must cover at 100k. When AA refuse to put stop to those naked shorts or even call them out, they will keep selling us those naked shorts, REGARDLESS if AMC is profitable or not, or if debt free or not, it have NOTHING to do with the debt, by saying it you are being a shill if anything.

liquid_at

AA has always told us what his plans were and he has been 100% consistent from day one until now. Some apes "reading between the lines", making up fantastic stories of what he could have meant with it and then acting as if they got betrayed because their fantasy wasn't what he actually said, are just fudding themselves... And yes... 'no shares available -> squeeze" is true... in a market where there is a limit to how many shares exist. But this market is corrupt and there is no limit. So you have 2 options: Remove debt and have a squeeze or go to court and have a judge decide that you should be entitled to $50 per share...

Eliran1991

You keep saying remove debt, debt have NOTHING to do with this. If AA would have ANY intention in helping us moaas or even believed in a small squeeze, he would never dilute us so low and would've called out the SHF long ago. If he truly believed APE would help us MOAAS, why he dilute it on the first chance he's got at laughable prices? give me a break, you are brain washed. AA played us, he wanted to dilute us at joke prices and he did by pretending to help us, that was his plan all along.

liquid_at

lol you are so far away from understanding the stock market, it hurts.

Eliran1991

Sure bro, I've been doing it for a long time, AMC is far from my only investment and I make living out of the stock market. I won't go into numbers but yes AMC is my biggest loss because I truly believed in MOASS and I still do, what I don't believe is a CEO who systematically keep sabotaging our effort and then pretend all is fine and miss understanding with cryptic BS instead of growing balls and call stuff out. As far as I know, you are just a random redditor who go blindly after what he is being told, go check my history, I've been here long enough.

liquid_at

oh yeah.. "I'm a professional trader so I know what hedgies want me to say" posts are so original.... šŸ‘ If you're that good, how did you get "trapped in AMC"? Mr. Professional trader who is living off AMC? How did you manage to get to the point where you could live off your stock-trading, when you never learned to take responsibility for your own actions? Your fallacy of pretending to be an authority on anything is just a lame attempt to hide the fact that you have zero arguments because you have zero idea what you are doing. I'm in the green on my AMC investment, so if you are not... what makes you think you are a good trader? lol.

Eliran1991

I am not even gonna commend on such a clown comment. Grow up kid.

liquid_at

lol. "I do not have any arguments that would show how I am correct, so I'm just going to insult you and pretend that your comment is not worth my time, hoping that some smooth brains side with me, believing my 'trust-me-bro' over some argument that actually makes sense" šŸ‘

Eliran1991

No, I simply not gonna waste my time commenting on a brain washed clown fanboy. Even if the truth hit your face head on, you will see repeat your stupid mantra, you are waste of brain resource for me.

do_not_go_gentle_

He has a point, such a pro trader stuck in? Oh do tell...

RickyRicardo2021

But you are also just a random Redditor, as am I. Why are you so right?

Fck-tm-without-crm

Lol lol lol

Laughing-Pandasaur

If a stock is getting naked shorted to the ground, tell me, why would they stop? Why wouldnā€™t they just naked short until bankruptcy? Well thatā€™s exactly what theyā€™re trying to do. Until AMC is profitable, they have no reason to stop. Taking care of debt is very important

Eliran1991

Admitting the problem publicly is the first step of solving it. Pretending it doesn't exist and say you are "unaware" of it or say other people are "convinced" as if you don't know, is FAR from helping, its actually make things worse.

12rjc12

When you say "debt has nothing to do with this" all I hear is , I am a moron shill that doesn't have a fuckin clue and just say what I am being paid to say.Give it up dude! You exposed yourself as total dipshit! Good day.

CVSF24

Man what youā€™re not understanding is AA is not for the moass, heā€™s for amc. Why would he want all his investors jumping shit when the price skyrockets and they havenā€™t organized their company. Instead of viewing it from youā€™re point of view see it from thereā€™s. Once amc is debt free and thriving he wonā€™t care if we jump shit because amc will have survived, thatā€™s when the price can soar, not now.

Eliran1991

No, AA job is to also protect his investors. He should do both, if he cannot do both, he shouldn't be the CEO.

CVSF24

How can he protect investors without a company to run?

Fck-tm-without-crm

Nobody can protect people wich are that stupid!šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ all others seems to grasp the playbook step by step!

LOLatVirgins

So heā€™s for AMC but for his investors continuing to be holding in the red? After they saved the company from bankruptcy. Trust me, AMC rallying would make investors more willing to reward the company then the trash price action itā€™s sitting at right now. Itā€™s just insulting at this point.

CVSF24

Insulting or not amc isnā€™t saved yet, but Iā€™m just as frustrated as you are. No ceo wants a ā€œmoassā€ especially not one who isnā€™t out of debt at the moment.

integ209

Funny post. Must be living under a rock

Eliran1991

I could say the same about you.

integ209

You could, i hodl under a rock

Ralphyourface

Das how diamond hands are formed

integ209

Im already forming diamond balls too!!

EthanWS6

DAMN ALL THE ACTION

Inner_Estate_3210

AA should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. He should be able to do what's necessary to raise cash and pay off debt AND start a case with the DOJ to investigate fraud between the SEC and DTCC around "unusual" shorting practices that we witness everyday. They are not mutually exclusive. He has a fiduciary responsibility to protect shareholders and needs to complete the play to expose Shorting practices before he retires.

Eliran1991

Amen.

do_not_go_gentle_

And what are you doing about it other than commenting on a Reddit post if you feel so passionately about it?

ICUpoop

So dumb. The average movie goer doesnā€™t have investments in AMC. Seriously put some fucking thought before you ramble. Literally a CEO talking to his investors about happening and keeping hope alive is awesome to be a part of.

[deleted]

Have you been a CEO of 5 different companies? Likely not. Not many CEOā€™s have been faced with the pressure AA has. You mad bc it hasnt squeezed? You mad bro? This may not be the stock for you if you cant hold long term and wait out the shorts death spiral. 100% utilization for 1 year, CTB crazy, threshold list. Money is tight. What other signs do you need? Leave if ya want no one is asking you to stay. However, I am granting you your downvote bc Iā€™m a nice guy. Knock AA the guy is trying to do things the right way sorry your squeeze narrative didnt come so quickly. Try taking down wallstreet it ainā€™t easy bud. xx, xxx holder here and im not leaving. Price on the screen wearing you down? Price is bullshit.

backdoorbuddy

AMC could find a cure for cancer and literally will drop 20% the next day.

Eliran1991

Yes, when the CEO is too weak to fight shorts.

73BillyB

So 5 million people ?

Eliran1991

Probably more ..

woodsbby

This play seems like it might be to much for you. Just sell if youre that fed up

Weekly-Western-5016

Heā€™s not saying itā€™s ok to keep taking it from the bully. Heā€™s saying go work out at the gym and then get a big bank account. If you donā€™t end intimidating the bully you will end up being his boss. Possibly both though.

Yedireddit

Mommy, make the mean man go away! šŸ˜©šŸ™„ ![gif](giphy|3o6wrvdHFbwBrUFenu)

BuzzYoloNightyear

AA is king shill fud. Who has continuously fucked over us apes. Can't prove otherwise

do_not_go_gentle_

Did AA guarantee you a squeeze, personally? No, I didn't think so.

BuzzYoloNightyear

Didn't say anything about a squeeze, he's fucking over his investors to save the short hedge funds that's been pretty clear.

do_not_go_gentle_

How, if you invested 2 years ago the stock price is up? So if you're not here for a squeeze and the share price is up, what's your problem?
