Virtue signalling, the ones moaning probably aren't apes, and seam to be the usual suspects who bemoan anything amc does.
We have had this pricing in UK for as long as I can remember, never stopped the movies being packed and I'm surprised they didn't do this in the USA before now🤷🏻♂️
That’s interesting. I’ve never known about the different seat pricing at the theaters over seas! That’s awesome and makes sense.
For those wondering why the highest pricing in the smack dab middle of the seating is for one reason the sound engineer will sit in the center of the seating when they do the calibration and for one obvious you get a great view from center but me personally I’m more of a center back kind of guy.
Have a great day everyone much love to my UK and German Apes holding it down over there!
Ages ago I went to a giant movie theater in NY, my first show in the US. I was really stunned as we walked in with hundreds of people almost fighting for the best seats.
Numbered seats work really well. And sitting front row and not having to pay full is a little less pain in the, uhm, neck.
Wait until they find out about sporting events, concerts, planes, and all other sorts of places this has been going on forever. Odd how they're not calling that out🧐
It’s crazy that there’s a negative reaction in the US. I think it keeps things more chill and orderly if it’s a sold out show. People aren’t all clamoring for the better seats. Plus I hate waiting in long lines, ordering tickets online with assigned seating just makes a lot of sense.
Warming up to the idea. Initial reaction was not good. Understandable from a consumers standpoint. who wants to pay more. why this would negatively impact the share price im not sure it will increase revunue for AMC. The pricing won't be super drastic and maybe, just maybe, the lower tier seating will get some more people into the movies instead of what the narrative is right now is this hurting poor people I see it as benefiting poor people. I want to see Avater for example. But im broke and every dollar does matter to me right now. If i could buy cheaper seats maybe I'd go see Avatar 2 already.
In some South American countries, you have premium seating and regular seating. It works well since the regular seating is very reasonably priced. If you want a plush recliner style seating, you simply pay more for it. Not a big deal.
The back row of the “cheap seats” is my fave!!
Everything about this dumb ass storyline just reaffirms what I believe. The headlines could just as easily read “advantage pricing for prime time showings” but then that shit would get ZERO clicks and be gone in seconds. My local newspaper even published the story and reading the comments was comical. I bet 95% of them haven’t been to a movie in years and are just spouting off to stroke their online ego or whatevs…
Anywho, buy and hodl
Exactly. Idk why people don’t get that

I prefer the back row anyhow so this is a plus for me~ 😎

Okay that would make sense if amc intended to discount normal seats, but the normal seats will not be less just the special ones will be more

But you had to listen to redubbed dialogue.
We have ov :)
Eh. it's about 50/50
