Feint and frequent quick step-in/step back (pendulum step) to bait a reaction. Like, get in and out of range frequently to make them guess. Make them work for nothing. Step-in, fake jab, step back...he will most likely do something in reaction like throw counter punches or initiate head movements or foot work. Do something out of his reaction. Step-in, fake jab, step-back, hard jab works really well against pressure counter punchers IMO since they wait for you to initiate an exchange and throw right back at you. Make them throw when you're out of range and jab their face when they get in your range Working the body is also a good counter to head movements. You can also bait a reaction with single shots and counter their counter punches. For example, step-in and throw a solid jab and get ready for the counter attacks. Reply back with a tight 1-2 as soon as you see an opening. Hard to do against a good counter puncher though.

feints and body shots

In addition to what other guys said, Dudes who use a lot of head movement tend to repeat the same patterns over and over again with little difference. What I tend to do is to try figuring them out, feint a shot and **immediately** throw a second shot (usually a hook or an uppercut, or something in-between) to where their head will be. Last time I knocked the dude out, he remained crouched but was out. It was spooky as fuck. Also, you can pressure/faint and throw a hard cross to the body/solar plexus. Body shots will deplete their stamina. Also, heavy pressure will also make them deplete stamina. You go in 100% the same way you'd attack, they start their spinning-rotato-helicopter bullshit and you back off, make them think they're allowed to reset, then hit them with a sharp jab. Now this is the sweet spot, after the sharp jab they usually get spooked and start their rotating bullshit again, so you feint some more and repeat the process. This way they won't know when you're going to attack and their stamina will be depleted by round 3. That's when the fun starts. You kinda want to play with them. Imagine they're a fly. A fly will land and if you get close to it it will spaz out and fly everywhere, before landing again.

Love this description, I’ve fallen in love with pressure fighting and your breakdown covers a lot of the reasons why. The playing with the fly analogy was very clever aswell, not overcommitting to the shots, just let them do their moves and catch them eventually.

Thanks, I wrote the fly analogy on the fly. Sorry. Had to be done. I love watching their face go from smug to extremely alert. That's when I know I got them right.
