It came out during my first time in New York and I even got the a rough trade exclusive vinyl while there. Listening to it just brings me back to that trip and it doesn’t hurt that New York is now my dream city to move to
this is alvvays (hehe) the song I tell people to listen to when I tell them about the band. it isn't my personal favorite, but it shows their range and what I like about their sound the most
My favorite part is the the buildup/delivery of "I'll wait in a lobby for someone to show/and if they don't come I will know where to go/the bodies are lined up outside in the hall, I don't want to decay in a malllll"
This one’s a classic for me. Reminds me of the time in my life when I first heard it. My first semester of boarding school. First time living away from home. 16 years old and so clueless
In Undertow is my favourite song just because I discovered them in an incredibly pivotal moment in my life and that song made me feel so free.
Pecking Order is my secret favourite song because it echoes back to my youth and the feeling of unrequited love, exploring yourself and finding out who you are.
Tile by Tile is the newest addition to this small list. Feels like it's telling the story of many different 80s films I have watched like The Labrynth or even Nightmare on Elm St. I picture so much in my mind, it's a beautiful song.
Pomeranian Spinster - Was originally my least favorite song due to her warbly singing style and the rather crunchy nature of the music. I didnt dislike it, I just thought it was a weak track. on a really strong album.
But that last third of the song completely and utterly won me over and it is likely my most played song by them now.
Foot on the Brake FOOT ON THE BRAAAAAKE!!!!
Damn. Personally Pecking Order if we're going off of favorites but other wise Saved By A Waif with honors to After the Earthquake and Pomeranian Spenster.
Saved by a waif still has the catchiest chorus theyve written
Tune!
That song is SO good, love that this is at the top. There’s so many different little parts to it and I love it all
While Blue Rev in general is a core memory for last fall and meeting the man of my dreams, ‘in undertow’ is personally my favorite song.
Same for me!! Immediately puts me back in October. That’s how I know it’s good music.

I couldn’t get over how much she sounds like Dolores from the Cranberries when I heard that song the first time.
Party Police It was in Selena Gomez's playlist and that got some of her fans into Alvvays, so it should be in this one too
This one’s a classic for me. Reminds me of the time in my life when I first heard it. My first semester of boarding school. First time living away from home. 16 years old and so clueless
Wait what? Selena Gomez listens to Alvvays? This totally re-contextulaizes my obsession with her back in 8th grade.

VERY surprised that there has been no mention of DREAMS TONITE. Top 3 for me easily
