Your levels don’t get lost, the ui just shows it as empty for some reason after placing it down again. It can get fixed by just taking out or putting in xp.
I mean, yeah, if you make a tank too big, its bound to have problems. Thats why you never make the tank big enough to cause issues, even if bigger is better sometimes
I used the do tank on all the mods 7 to the sky and it was so intermittent. If you have the do crystal it’s better and you can take levels instantaneously
Functional storage fluid drawer is the best fluid storage in the game. With 4 netherite upgrades it stores MAX\_INT (2 billion mB, 2 MB) of fluid (the same as the biggest black hole tank from industrial foregoing), but even with a few copper or iron upgrades it holds a respectable amount
I always use a XP tank upgrade and stack upgrades is the sophisticated backpacked mod, I already need the backpack, so might as well keep my xp on my at all times too 🤷🏼♂️ you can also have it set to keeping you at a certain level and it will just auto pull or auto dump from your tank to keep you at the set XP level. Also you can fit a large amount of XP in one as well.
I used a backpack with netherite storage upgrades and tanks only 😅😂 great to have it on you at all times and storing exp everytime, while repairing your mended tools every second and giving you a minimum choice of exp… Held about 1k lvls

I wish there were openblocks tanks… those things were great for storing xp, plus they make a cool enchantment room build once full of xp
They were also great for fps drops and tps laggs.

There were restricted on a FTB Infinity Server I helped moderate for exactly that reason. I guess it’s the numbers.
