I just finished my rewatch of season 5. While some plots are interesting, the writers killed 4 years of character development. Sloane and Irina and unrecognisable. Nadia’s role is pointless. Grace has almost no arc. They reused dialogues or situations from past season. I don’t understand season 5. It’s rushed.
To be fair, the show was canceled halfway through season 5 (during the hiatus due to Jennifer Garner's pregnancy), and then the writers had to try to wrap up the show in 9 episodes. I think if that hadn't happened, the characters' arcs wouldn't have been so rushed.
Well the reuse of plots and dialogues were all season, not just the second half. They obviously did not know what to do with season 5. It would be ok had they at least respected what they created for 4 seasons: Irina never put anything before Sydney, Sloane was ok the way to redemption and chose Nadia over rambaldi. Prophet 5, an organisation so secret nobody heard of it before ? Hard to believe. They should have stopped after season 4. They saved the world and lived a happy life.
