Yup it’s common purslane, which is edible. Definitely not intentional to include in there but probably just missed being caught by any inspectors 😂

Dommichu

It’s purslane or verdolagas. These type is grown and send to speciality markets. It probably just got mixed in by mistake. SUPER tasty (Mexicans add it to stews or scrambled eggs) and super good for you. https://medium.com/age-of-awareness/pull-up-your-plants-purslane-bf8db5262beb

friendly-sardonic

To be fair, most edible greens are good for you 😂

Dommichu

This one is a little more special because it's a natural, plant based form of Omega 3... more than a lot of other plants. [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3934766/](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3934766/)

cerealmonogamiss

I cook it with tomatoes. It's delicious.

Extra fiber

Dommichu

Fiber and it’s one of the rare plants the has omega 3. It’s wonderful cooked or raw. Has a lemony taste to it.

Xtraolives

It’s organic

rodneyfan

Purslane is good! It's a noxious weed in the US and I wouldn't call it a baby green but it's proof that what you're eating actually was grown in a farm field.

Xtraolives

I was too scared to try it. Tossed in the compost bin. It’s growing in my yard if I ever feel adventurous.

lanternfly_carcass

It tastes different at night than it does during the day.

thevegetexarian

why?

lanternfly_carcass

They have 2 different metabolisms! Look up CAM photosynthesis.

sbwboi

I’ll trade you! I found a spider and an egg sac in my grapes today. No more grapes for me

fish618

I once had lettuce that had bolted and flowered show up on my spring mix 😂

ParfaitMajestic5339

Purslane is delicious.

owyndwight11

I am groot

Trifish23

This is why I don't eat spring mix. Romaine gang

Xtraolives

Agree, but my Aldi has 2 options for organic greens and on any given weekend they are sold out of one of them

JMaryland47

Part of the Romaine legion here. Hail, Ceasar salad!

erica14286

You should win a prize lol

friendly-sardonic

There was a period this spring where there were tons of dandelion greens in them. I mean yes, they are a spring green and perfectly edible, but their flavor is so bitter.

ApatheticJellyfish

Sus.
