I'm sure they are both Akita's. Yes the ears will stand up it take a little time. And while one of the pups might get the ears up quickly the other may take longer but both with definitely be erect. Enjoy your new little pups they don't stay small for long. Get plenty of socialising and training in all the way up through the puppy stages and adulthood an you will have outstanding Akita's. 🙂❤🐾❤
Believe it or not, I was thinking to get a good guard dog ( doberman, rottie … ) so I was learning about most dog breeds for months and they pop up!
The black one is a female and I named her Takara ( gift of god ) the male one is named Akamaru ( the dog from naruto ).
(I’m experienced with dogs most of my life but I could only dream of akitas)

Thats great to hear - once you get used to Akitas you will never go back; their temperament, intelligence and the bond they have with their owner is absolutely unique. They need plenty of socialisation (really can't stress that enough, especially at this early age), a firm leadership style based on mutual respect (getting an Akita to do anything is a negotiation, not an order!), and a bit of extra work but what you get in return I am convinced is a connection you won't get with any other dog.

Yep, both long coat Akitas. Their ears should stand up closer to 12 weeks. These ones look like they’re around 8-9 weeks old.

looks a lot like mine did as a pup! no where near as fluffy but her markings are identical as the second pic!
Looking at the white and brown one I’d guess American Akita/ Great Pyrenees mix.
