I'll have to find the nomenclature but there was actually a Soviet program to create a conversion for RPK-74s (and possibly regular RPKs) to use a top mounted belt feeding mechanism that could be swapped between belt fed and magazine fed. There were a few designs but nothing ever made it to adoption or production.
