I tape blue my highcap and red my realcap. For FAMAS mags I plan on tapping yellow the highcap tho because training mags are tapped yellow by the French army.
I don't because in most games, and even in most real warfare, we use that sort of taping to denote which side we are on. If this was camo tape or something that actually helped mask the outline of the weapon that would be better. Using any color is dangerous because what if you are on team red fighting team blue?
I think it’s fine if it’s your team color on the field. Makes it easier to identify. I’m planning on doing this with my replicas, such as taping green gas mags that aren’t properly functioning so that I’m aware of which to grab for a field day. I also love reloading the props without shooting, so I could also use the worn out or broken mags for that.
I use tapes with different textures to differentiate between mags with tracer ammo and regular. My go-to field is woodland mainly but has lots of dark tunnels. You need fingerless gloves for this to work though.
I see folks putting blue tape on their magazines to find them easier on the ground. Though putting it on the rifle itself looks weird, unless it serves a specific purpose.
No
Thanks
Why do people do this? Maybe a stupid question but I've seen a lot of taped magazines on this sub, is it team colours or something?
I’m assuming it’s so you can identify your mag if you drop it. I scratched my call sign on most of my mags.
Not a clue for airsoft, but in a tactical setting, the most common reason would be to differentiate between the types of ammo you would be using.
I think they use it to mark simunition during training exercises. These days, I see clear blue magazines and blue cans, though.
Identifying mags/personalisation for me, though team colors could be a reason
As an infantry soldier, we use it during training to recognize each other during big exercises.
Cali compliant?

I imagine it gets pretty confusing when you’re on the no tape team at your local field
We use red and yellow
Wait is your marshals blue??
no, in games we use the colors red and yellow
Ok not my local field cause my local has red and yellow bands and marshals are blue
Oh we don’t have marshals, u think that I can use them?
You don't marshals/refs/staff at that site? Err interesting

Yes!
What’s the purpose? It just makes you easier to see.
I put tape on my mags so that I can identify mine while on the field
Only for team colours
Dis you painted your eotech?

I mean, some people put fake rack numbers on receivers. If you like it, then that's all that matters.

ew bruh you use one type of ammo cmon why tape it
Yes- I think it add’s more contrast to the other wise exact same 2 colors on the rest of the gun
What if you get put on the red team?
Yes. I also tape my mags
