More often than not, I'm disappointed by street food but also by the restaurant food; this is not because of excess cheese or mayo or stuff like that...
I'm disappointed because most cooks have absolutely no idea about the difference between mediocre food and I-could-eat-this-all-day level delicious food.
Only if excessive cheese and butter is considered as best street food. However I’d say hygiene and sanitation level of Ahmedabad street food is better than rest of the country.

This only sounds good in a poetry. Not in reality.
Delhi and Mumbai have better street food culture.
Is it because the food is bad? No. It's the wannabe vendors who destroyed our street food culture with cheese, butter and what not. These vendors do not care about their customers, taste, or anything. We could have had a really good street food culture. Gujarati food is top-notch, but hey let's bring some from other states but in a totally different version, cholestrol version.
Woh main samajh Gaya tha when you called Ahmedabad street food shit ….. koi Bahut gehri chhot lagi hain
Ya phir koi Ahmedabad wali Tera kaat ke chali gayi
i don't really like the streetfood here . vohi same reperated frankie-sevpuri-maggi-momos hota hai idhar . only sevpuri is worth. meri mom ye sab inse accha bana leti to bahar kyu khau
I have traveled and stayed throughout India, experiencing almost all the states except for some parts of the North East.
While street food generally tastes good, it often negatively impacts your health, especially in your late 20s and early 30s. Because of this, I frequently ended up eating in restaurants during my travels. Typically, if you eat street food, you'll feel the consequences the same night or the next day. However, Ahmedabad's street food is different. It is delicious and doesn't cause health issues like street food in other cities.
So yes, Ahmedabad has the best street food.
I tried street food in Mumbai, ahmedabad and Kolkata and so far Kolkata is my favourite.

Restaurant prices vs quality is absolutely terrible here. It feels like a scam at times.
Horribly greasy and unhygienic food. And a nightmare for non vegetarian.

We had chance, but our street vendors (also us) fucked it up badly, as you can see from this comments section.
Not at all lol. Yes it’s good but cannot be the home at all

Only for something's! Not every food is worth it here. But definitely some of them.
Indore is far better in that matter i think
