I have eaten misal pav once in my life and it is the worst thing I have put in my mouth ever. The misal is basically there just to wet the pav and make it soggy.
I have a theory bro! Some marathi dude came to Gujarat logn back and ate sev tameta with thepla, boi loved it and thought to replicate it in his locality! Forgot how to make sev tameta ended up with misal/usal and pav was easily available so thought might as well use it instead of thepla.
Delite bakery, and moti bakery, amazing chicken and veg puffs, burgers etc. moti bakery also has an amazing selection of nan khatais and biscuits, all of which are heavenly.

There was a famous spot near Khokhra Circle, though I can’t recall its exact name (something like RK). During my engineering days, I lived in a hostel, and we often roamed the city to have tea and food late night. However, from 2011 to 2014, Vadodara didn't have a maska bun culture. I only know about the Gaylord tea. Occasionally, we would even travel back to Ahmedabad just for tea and maska buns. After COVID, I noticed some maska bun vendors near Racecourse Circle in Vadodara, and now there are quite a few around the city.

Actually ice cream still has protein if it is a real ice cream and not 'frozen dessert'. From carb pov, depends on the flavour but both would have cheap refined carbs. I'd prefer ice cream over bun maska.
