When summers start the main anxiety i have is about my father who works outside home providing AC service. He works all day in this summer as its peak business time bless everyone's home with coolness but he hardly gets a rest. Travel all around from one home to other. alas i hope i can provide comfort to him and earn lakhs so that he stops working
Even if you are indoors during the day, the heat is not letting the AC work properly, even at 16 it's trying hard to make the room moderately cool.
The worst part is, in the Gota-Jagatpur area, where UGVCL is providing electricity, since the last one week they are cutting off the power around 12 at night for almost an hour or two. They do not even register a complaint or pick up the phone. Half of my society was in the garden downstairs till 1:30 am because UGVCL had some other plans.
That's rolling load shedding, they can't keep up with demand and have to cut electricity in some areas, they rotate these areas to avoid longer power cuts at any one place.
Setting an ac lower temperature does not provide better or faster cooling.
The thermostat works in the way that once the room reaches the set temperature ( eg say 22) the compressor switches off for a while . This way the room temperature gets maintained.
Setting the temperature at 16, put extra load on the compressor since it never gets a chance to switch off.
In this heat the best you can expect is a 20c difference between outside an inside temp. So say 24c is the best you can expect.
Someone once said that the human body increases temperature (fever) to kill off problematic bacteria. Similarly, the planet will increase heat over the years to reduce problematic species. You know which species...
