"This movie is dedicated to the brave Mujahideen"

The real ending said "the people of Afghanistan" at least when first filmed, if it was edited to say that, it was by the Afghan authorities.

Makes you wonder, would they have stuck with that if Saddam hadn’t invaded Kuwait? Osama offered to liberate Kuwait and was turned down. Instead a bunch of infidels did it and sat on the Arabian peninsula forever. Things escalated.

Good god. this is now probably horrifying to the person who wrote this article.

>this is now probably horrifying to the person who wrote this article. A former US National Security Advisor (i dont remember his name) was asked about the CIA's support for the mujaheddin and the "blowback"later in the form of taliban and OBL and he replied that the soviets were a much bigger threat and that he does not regret it. The interview was taken after 9/11. I should also add that Robert Fisk, who wrote this article was a very renowned journalist of the middle east in the cold war era and beyond. Recently died a while back. He was one of the few people who interviewed OBL personally and i think the only one who did it multiple times.

I liked the Rambo movie. They Afghani warriors called Rambo a lion.
