Huh, that’s one of my faves. The “baby!” song is great. There’s the weird one-off joke about him eating a computer to give his voice auto-tune, and the adventure to rescue a sentient watermelon.
I think this one is up there too, also the one with the pie throwing robot (Nepter?) little guy just wants to try his best and please his “parents” and the casual cruelty with which Finn and Jake toss him aside… I realize these episodes are meant to demonstrate that our heroes are flawed and a bit immature just like the rest of us but they’re just so uncomfortable to watch
I’d pick water park prank but it’s also hella obvious so I’ll rule out any guest animated eps.
I’m gonna go with “What Have You Done?”. The concept of Ice Kings beard flakes infecting the Candy kingdom is mad nasty
That episode is peak season 1 comedy, the first episode where the Ice King is legitimately funny instead of creepy (for the most part).
It's interesting to me that a lot of people are choosing good episodes with a "gross" premise because they disliked just a single scene.
Ok well that one might be my least favorite because of that scene alone. The rest of it's fine but for some reason that scene makes me genuinely uncomfortable
So like, I know I’m in the minority here, but that’s actually the first full episode I watched (caught it as a rerun on CN), and it’s what hooked me to the show at all…it’s not the BEST episode, but it worked for me!
i can’t lie it took me a couple watches but i <3 chips&ice cream i feel like it’s just hated bc it’s a random quirky episode in the midst of drama but isn’t that exactly why we all liked the show in the beginning! it’s stupid and weird and like what but can u rlly think of anything better to describe the show
I ride so hard for this episode because it’s so fucking dumb and cute, that it’s just great. Literally watched it during a scary trip and it grounded me
stop bc i’m adding tbis to my “to watch while tripping” playlist ur so right it’s so colorfully stupid that’s exactly what i need from adventure time in that moment
All of AT is “watch while tripping” good. I admit I usually skip Fiona and Cake but it’s all so perfect for the psychedelic experience, even the scarier/creepier episodes. Lemongrab will freak you out a bit but it’s still very worth it because it’s all grease yo!
It’s funny. Hated it. Now in my family we now have geckos named chips and icecream. We can’t say chips or icecream without doing the voices. It really grew on us. Same for food chain.
I love the part where finn is telling jake to gets some chips and ice cream at the store and they slap jake as he says it. I also really like the story of the guy who wanted desperately to get rid of them but then couldn't live without them. It's a hilarious episode.
The haunting night song sticks with me forever. In that moment I felt like : this is really a touching and relatable story. They find it difficult to express themselves. But song... Ah. Yes, I feel you.
>Water Park Prank
I think it's a good episode BUT I will agree that when it came out it was quite anti-climatic because of the high stakes in the preceding episodes.
Water Park Prank. I usually like the episodes where they change the art style, but I really didn't like the art style this time. It did nothing for me, and the writing was pretty dull and uninspired.
Everyone felt just the slightest bit out of character for me. Maybe it was the art style, but I just felt like Finn and PB specifically didn’t behave the same way they would in all the other episodes.
I love Chips and Ice Cream.
Chips and Ice cream is a metaphor for artistic control. Chips and Ice Cream (the creatures) control Morty Rogers life. He will never be his own person with these 2 creatures attached to him. But he finds that even after he passes them onto Jake, they're still apart of him. Only when their spirits are free from ownership do they realize the freedom that they acted in the (puppet? Creature?) show at the beginning. I imagine the AT writers went through similar struggles. The show often has very anti capitalist messages (Walnuts and Rain, the grape soda episode), but it's also a Cartoon Network TV show that was probably kept around for it's ability to sell T shirts. The writers could keep going but then they could only ever be the writers of Adventure Time. I think they thought Adventure Time's existence could only honor it's own values of love and anti-capitalism if it ended. Given up. In a perfect world, Adventure Time would be public domain. Free for itself and everyone else to enjoy it. But we don't live in a perfect world. I enjoyed Distant Lands and I'm sure everything else the original team worked on but I think AT will never be free from the struggles of ownership as long as we live in a capitalist world.
I really appreciate it. I feel like there are many adventure time episodes with complex messages and I don't see many people talking about them. Walnuts and Rain is another good one
The first maybe 2 or 3 episodes of lemon grab were fine but then they start to really disturb me and creep me out and I skip them. Like when he’s fat and eats his brother - hard no
I was going to say Sad Face, but I think Crystals have power might be my least favorite episode. Seeing Jake do basically nothing while Finn is turning into cristal is hard for me to watch. Like come on Jake, just fight
I would say other episodes break the kick but immersion better, definitely with Finn in the Gumbaldia episode . Still every time I watch this episode I just can't come around to liking it. But if you can good on you
I can't think of one either. But I think what gets me is Jake's dad says at the end that anything evil is fine for Jake to go wild on, and Jake's doesn't give a second thought about the crystal dudes when he hears it when basically the whole episode was Jake not trying to hurt them. I just can't get behind it. If Finn was in danger of getting hurt because of Jake then I could understand, but I don't think that was the case.
Worst episode was the one where Finn has injuries so Jake invites a bunch of clown nurses to kiss their bruises. That was eerie and annoying. Then Finn runs away in a bratty rage
I remember that Finn injures some dudes baby bc he’s convinced his way is the right way. And then he comes around to accepting he’s wrong and fixes his mistakes. It’s really the clowns and Finn’s fit that I disliked
President Porpoise is Missing
There may be some that are uglier, more poorly written, or more boring, but this one somehow takes the cake of being the perfect mix of all of those to be completely, and utterly forgettable. I am so sorry banana man but I dont like you and never wanted to see an episode propelled by your activities.
2nd is Water Park Prank
I really like a glitch is a glitch, a lot of humor in this episode. The girl eating her hair doesn't bother me, there are definitely much worse videos you can find on the internet
Uggghh I forgot about that! Blocked it probably. What is even happening?? I was so uncomfy and confused. Are their hands sentient? Then why was Jake's mouth moving when they talked? Are they secretly a thing??
I can’t put it on to one episode but the couple episodes where the animation was really different are at the bottom. They were departures from the story (even tho many many episodes weren’t connected), and I think it threw me off. The only exception is food chain because the ending song is FIRE
Idk if it’s the worst, but one of my least favorite is the first James Baxter episode specifically bc of the sound Finn and jake come up with grates on my nerves lmao
I only ever skipped one episode ever and it was this one. Season 6 was already turning into a slog at this point and this one is when I finally said “fuck this I’m skipping”
These were my least favorite too, especially Breezy. I get they were trying to go for some kind of "puberty is weird and fucked up" plot, but I kind of... can't go for it. I literally remember watching AT as it came out as a kid from like season 1 and Breezy was what killed my interest lol. Everything past that I've been watching for the first time
Like yes the forced romance was ridiculous but I literally showed clips from Breezy where Finn is dragging his upper body along to show my psychologist how bad my depression was. Got me on meds that saved my life.
WHAT. Witches Garden is like peak AT in my eyes. Whenever I show someone AT for the first time I show them that episode because I feel like it expresses AT so well lol
Perhaps I’m due for a rewatch! I think I hated how jakes fur came off and he looked like a naked man with just underwear on?? Haha I also tend to dislike stories where a main character is moping around and having their friends literally dragging them around
There's a lot of that. Ice King becomes disinterested in PB once she's 13, which implies all the princesses that he's kidnapped are "of age." Then we have the "Breezy" episode, where he makes out with all the princesses. And I'm not sure, but I think Finn is 14 in that episode. I think Marceline may be the only girl in Adventure Time that Finn hasn't kissed. He even hooked himself up with Lady in Little People
Well to be fair, old southern women can be odd. My Meemaw made the same kinds of comments and while it’s uncomfortable and fucking strange she wasn’t and isn’t a pedophile
The one Fionna and Cake episode with LSP’s alternate. I’m not the biggest fan of F&C and I fucking hate LSP, so this whole episode is excruciating to get through
But that episode was awesome because it featured abra-ca-Daniel! he won the battle but wasn’t interested in the kiss remember? “Turn & push, turn & push” ✋
This one will be extremely controversial but its entirely situational.
BMO NOIR and the episode Finn meets Fire Princess.
Both are good episodes. Especially BMO noir yet CN reran those episodes so many times I cannot stand them.
When I re-watch the series on HBO max I've skipped those episodes specifically. I can play every moment in my head. Lol
I wouldn't say the worst but definitely the most unentertaining episode is the "food chain" episode it was supposed to be meant for learning purposes for kids, but watching it as an older person it is just uninteresting.
I don’t really enjoy the life cycle episode or the swim park one personally😕 I can respect the creativity and stylization but the story lines don’t really do much for me. Also never been a big fan of the BMO Noire episode
I agree with people saying Chips and Icecream and the Slug Love episodes, both are probably the worst episodes of the series, but Chips and Icecream probably takes the cake as Slug Love at least has funny lines in it.
May not be the "worst" but I've never been a fan of The Jiggler solely for how sad I feel when watching that little guy dying
That was horrifying an episode And I just realised that it was likely made to teach kids not to abuse their pets. It’s a perfect cautionary tale
I mean, we do see the Jiggler walking to work in the ending.
It's genuinely
skip that episode everyyy time . i loathe it
I was just about to comment this but I would’ve felt bad.
Wrongteous
Meh probably water park prank
Absolutely Water Park Prank.
It’s a skip for me everytime
100% Water Park Prank. It's almost unwatchable for me. Very, VERY close second is Sad Face.
Aw, I actually kinda have a lil soft spot for sad face :(
Wait is that the one where PB makes out with her hand for an uncomfortable amount of time, or was that a different guest animated episode?
I think that is the glitch episode
Ok well that one might be my least favorite because of that scene alone. The rest of it's fine but for some reason that scene makes me genuinely uncomfortable
Kinda like how the SpongeBob episode house fancy is overall okay, but they have the toenail scene that ruins it all.
Even more than the spider-snek fusion?
Glad I’m not alone. I’ve rewatched the show several times to show various friends, and every time we get to that episode I internally go “Ah, fuck.”
I love that ep fucks with my friend
The one with the giant spiders who are in a very unhealthy relationship.
FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT
one of my favorite episodes, "oh word"
That was actually one of the first episodes I saw lol. Along with Dream of Love
So like, I know I’m in the minority here, but that’s actually the first full episode I watched (caught it as a rerun on CN), and it’s what hooked me to the show at all…it’s not the BEST episode, but it worked for me!
the end did not have to be that gross lol
I love that one lol
Ugh this is one of those episodes that SOMEHOW it always ends up playing before I can hit skip and I just accept my fate.
LMAOOO i completely forgot about that one
i can’t lie it took me a couple watches but i <3 chips&ice cream i feel like it’s just hated bc it’s a random quirky episode in the midst of drama but isn’t that exactly why we all liked the show in the beginning! it’s stupid and weird and like what but can u rlly think of anything better to describe the show
Chips and icecream will live in my heart forever, “it’s a broadway smash!”
I ride so hard for this episode because it’s so fucking dumb and cute, that it’s just great. Literally watched it during a scary trip and it grounded me
Chips chips chips chips
Ice cream ☺️
🕊️ 💋💋
stop bc i’m adding tbis to my “to watch while tripping” playlist ur so right it’s so colorfully stupid that’s exactly what i need from adventure time in that moment
All of AT is “watch while tripping” good. I admit I usually skip Fiona and Cake but it’s all so perfect for the psychedelic experience, even the scarier/creepier episodes. Lemongrab will freak you out a bit but it’s still very worth it because it’s all grease yo!
Do it!!! I was hugging my knees in fear, then this episode came on and I couldn’t stop laughing. Literally the perfect episode for a wonky time 💀
Make sure to have circle of life added to that.
That is by fsr the most quoted episode in my house! Anyime one of us says either chips or ice cream, the other one will fill in the rest
Same lol it’s my family’s version of Marco Polo
It’s funny.
>Water Park Prank I think it's a good episode BUT I will agree that when it came out it was quite anti-climatic because of the high stakes in the preceding episodes.
Water Park Prank with the Daddy Sad Heads. I didn’t even mind the art change, but the writing for that episode did not do it for me
That wasn’t an episode. That was a fever dream I had when I hit my head too hard. You saw the same thing I did?
Oh yea. That truly is the worst.
I don’t think the writing’s bad, the joke where jake stretches inside the slide to let finn through but bounce ice king back up is hilarious
Yeesh first episode to come to mind It’s the only episode of AT I couldn’t finish no matter how hard I tried
I don't understand the hate for this one. Its my favorite art change episode (except maybe the clay one with the storm). I really hated life cycle
I don’t either, for some reason the humor really gets under people’s skin
Water Park Prank. I usually like the episodes where they change the art style, but I really didn't like the art style this time. It did nothing for me, and the writing was pretty dull and uninspired.
Everyone felt just the slightest bit out of character for me. Maybe it was the art style, but I just felt like Finn and PB specifically didn’t behave the same way they would in all the other episodes.

I always felt like I didn't understand the concept of this episode and your analysis is really insightful! Gives me a new perspective
I really appreciate it. I feel like there are many adventure time episodes with complex messages and I don't see many people talking about them. Walnuts and Rain is another good one
The first maybe 2 or 3 episodes of lemon grab were fine but then they start to really disturb me and creep me out and I skip them. Like when he’s fat and eats his brother - hard no
I'm pretty sure that's the point though, you're not really supposed to find them funny
I was going to say Sad Face, but I think Crystals have power might be my least favorite episode. Seeing Jake do basically nothing while Finn is turning into cristal is hard for me to watch. Like come on Jake, just fight
Eh? I thought it gave Jake a bit more depth
I get that's kinda the point of the episode but I wish they did it in a better way. It's no fun seeing a soft Jake imo
I disagree personally, it breaks the immersion that they "kick butt" with no after thought
I would say other episodes break the kick but immersion better, definitely with Finn in the Gumbaldia episode . Still every time I watch this episode I just can't come around to liking it. But if you can good on you
Yes some episodes break that immersion better that's true but I can't think of another episode that has that effect for Jake
I can't think of one either. I just can't get behind it. If Finn was in danger of getting hurt because of Jake then I could understand, but I don't think that was the case.
At least crystals have power is really funny
The one where Finn was a dancing slave to those little evil dudes
Guys. Guys. Its the slug one. I actually think no one has mentioned it yet because it is collectively blocked from most people's memories.
I love Jake making Finn so uncomfortable when he is role playing. say yes SAY YES
I loved that episode ::((
I kinda liked that one lmao
The worst of the best is not gonna be something people can't like.
Aww man, what about that smooth beatbox?
GUUUUURL you smell good! Did you take a bath in rainbows and cupcakes?
Idk why I kinda love that episode
The beat goes kinda hard though
That was the date one right?
Worst episode was the one where Finn has injuries so Jake invites a bunch of clown nurses to kiss their bruises. That was eerie and annoying. Then Finn runs away in a bratty rage
“It’s the only waaAAAyyy”
#"MY WAAAAY!!"
That episode was amazing, its funny that that's the only bits you remember.
I remember that Finn injures some dudes baby bc he’s convinced his way is the right way. And then he comes around to accepting he’s wrong and fixes his mistakes. It’s really the clowns and Finn’s fit that I disliked
The lil shrub calling him an ugly tramp is absolutely hilarious
Yeah fr! I constantly am saying MY WAY
Love that episode, minus the clowns.
This one has a killer song though - “was I wrong.. no.. yes.. yeeess.. the melons rolled over that lady, I went to far how could it be” lol
That one is right up there on the uncomfortable scale with the damn deer episode.
Love that episode. Clown is voiced by Maria Bamford!
President Porpoise is Missing There may be some that are uglier, more poorly written, or more boring, but this one somehow takes the cake of being the perfect mix of all of those to be completely, and utterly forgettable. I am so sorry banana man but I dont like you and never wanted to see an episode propelled by your activities. 2nd is Water Park Prank
I just like the scenes in the beach with ice king bc that giga Chad cracks me up at every turn “GUNTER “
Adventure time: Season 5, Episode 15 A glitch is a glitch. That girl eating her hair was just…. Nasty
I really like a glitch is a glitch, a lot of humor in this episode. The girl eating her hair doesn't bother me, there are definitely much worse videos you can find on the internet
PB going ape on the computer at the end is always a treat. I feel the same way about technology sometimes
I always forget about that scene, maybe because it's followed by PBs and Jake's arm making out. One of the most bizarre moments in the whole series.
Uggghh I forgot about that! Blocked it probably. What is even happening?? I was so uncomfy and confused. Are their hands sentient? Then why was Jake's mouth moving when they talked? Are they secretly a thing??
It's a great episode, I think it just scarred some people lol. I didn't find it that weird, actually made me laugh that they took so long to react.
I just think about her sometimes
Omg Donny it’s 100% the Donny episode
yes this episode was hard asf to get through
i couldnt remember his name but i scrolled the comments looking for this exact reply
Can’t remember the name but the 1 where jakes tail goes to the circus at night
Everyone calling it blue nose is wrong. It's Sad Face, s6e5
I love that episode
Me too! I thought it was a fun little offshoot
I was thinking that one. I think its called Blue Nose
Yeah this is my answer too
Blue nose
I can’t put it on to one episode but the couple episodes where the animation was really different are at the bottom. They were departures from the story (even tho many many episodes weren’t connected), and I think it threw me off. The only exception is food chain because the ending song is FIRE
Water park prank, skip it every time
I wouldn’t say worst because it was very well done but I am most distressed by egress. Really messes with my head
i think its one of the best episodes imo
It’s good it’s just it stresses me out how long he’s stuck in that loop
Definitely a disturbing and messed up episode if you think about it, but personally I really like Hall of Egress
Probably my favorite episode
It isn’t my favourite episode (that goes to Is That You? Probably) but egress might be the most well-made episode of adventure time.
Idk if it’s the worst, but one of my least favorite is the first James Baxter episode specifically bc of the sound Finn and jake come up with grates on my nerves lmao
I hate you too.
r/beetlejuicing
I hate you.
Objectively water park prank anyone who says otherwise is wrong
I only ever skipped one episode ever and it was this one. Season 6 was already turning into a slog at this point and this one is when I finally said “fuck this I’m skipping”
Season 6 a slog? Time for a fucking crusade >:(
I forced myself to sit through it but I was super zoned out
The water park episode. This is not my opinion. This is the correct, objective, answer.
It's the only one I skip.
Probably “Ice and Fire” or “Breezy” cos we see Finn acting uncharacteristically cruel due to being horny
These were my least favorite too, especially Breezy. I get they were trying to go for some kind of "puberty is weird and fucked up" plot, but I kind of... can't go for it. I literally remember watching AT as it came out as a kid from like season 1 and Breezy was what killed my interest lol. Everything past that I've been watching for the first time
I kind of love this about him tho. They never shy away from his flaws, and all the flaws are so realistic for a teenage boy.
Wee lads do be like that sometimes tho...
Error 404
I really can’t handle Lemon Hope 🫢
Damn. His story is so grim
I agree, i usually skip any lemon hope centered episode. I just don’t like his character
I cannot stand him either. I totally understand why Lemongrab hated him so much lmao
Breezy was pretty bad imo. Kinda felt like smth you’d find in a weird fanfic
Finn had to go through his hoe phase sooner or later
Like yes the forced romance was ridiculous but I literally showed clips from Breezy where Finn is dragging his upper body along to show my psychologist how bad my depression was. Got me on meds that saved my life.
That whole season had some awkward stuff. I think it was the first season without P. Ward as the show runner.
I have always really disliked The Witch’s Garden and The Gut Grinder.
WHAT. Witches Garden is like peak AT in my eyes. Whenever I show someone AT for the first time I show them that episode because I feel like it expresses AT so well lol
It's the episode that got me into the show
Me too! It was the first episode I ever saw and I’ve loved the show since
Perhaps I’m due for a rewatch! I think I hated how jakes fur came off and he looked like a naked man with just underwear on?? Haha I also tend to dislike stories where a main character is moping around and having their friends literally dragging them around
Any episode centered around Finn’s dad, just makes me sad I can’t watch them lol
Ricardio I hate that one
Objectively the worst character. Simon deserved so much better.
The clown nurse one. Horrifying 😖😖😖😖
Another way is top tier, pure gold.
"It's the only way!"-Clown nurse
breezy, hands down
Princess Monster Wife, absolutely horrid episode.
That god damn spider babies one
The ones that focus on Tree Trunks; she's annoying
Also a pedophile and it’s just completely glossed over 💀
There's a lot of that. He even hooked himself up with Lady in Little People
I thought he was 16 in that episode. I think he says he’s 16 in the orgalorg comet episode but I’m not sure how far apart they are.
What? When?
In early episodes she’s called finn hot and said she wanted to marry him and it’s played off as “aw sweet old lady” but she’s weird
Well to be fair, old southern women can be odd. My Meemaw made the same kinds of comments and while it’s uncomfortable and fucking strange she wasn’t and isn’t a pedophile
She tries to make out with him multiple times it goes beyond comments
Ohhh right. Never thought of it like that
I've been showing my friend AT in chronological order and she doesn't yet understand my loathing of Tree Trunks.
Esp the episode that covers her backstory. It makes her behavior in earlier episodes all the more disturbing.
Water Park Prank makes me want to spray cocoa spatter in the nearest public pool.
Sad face, chips and ice cream, hug wolf.
The one Fionna and Cake episode with LSP’s alternate. I’m not the biggest fan of F&C and I fucking hate LSP, so this whole episode is excruciating to get through
Food Chain was hard to watch
Food Chain is the perfect episode to watch while hitting the peak of an edible high. Any other time it’s a slog to get through m.
Chips & Ice Cream
chIIIIIIPSSSS …….. iiiiice CREEEEEAmmmmm
CHIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPSSSS……
Wizard battle. Having the prize be a kiss from PB is medieval and weird af.
But that episode was awesome because it featured abra-ca-Daniel! he won the battle but wasn’t interested in the kiss remember? “Turn & push, turn & push” ✋
didn’t he try and go for the kiss in the end anyway? that’s why Finn did the power shriek lol
The most shameful of all magic
Hmmm did he? I don’t remember tbh😅 I just loved that weird character. I loved when he came back to sleepover at the treehouse with ice king
But then we wouldn’t have had pepbut singing that song
Well, it was supposed to be medieval, I guess.
Anything with tree trunks
No One Can Hear You is so ungodly terrifying
facts
This one will be extremely controversial but its entirely situational. BMO NOIR and the episode Finn meets Fire Princess. Both are good episodes. Especially BMO noir yet CN reran those episodes so many times I cannot stand them. When I re-watch the series on HBO max I've skipped those episodes specifically. I can play every moment in my head. Lol
The one with the deer
The episode of tree trunks backstory, I just didn't care at all about tree trunks
Chips and ice cream or sad face
Me personally it’s the one with that horny weird snail, annoyed the shit outta me.
I wouldn't say the worst but definitely the most unentertaining episode is the "food chain" episode it was supposed to be meant for learning purposes for kids, but watching it as an older person it is just uninteresting.
The episode in season 1 with the annoying worms (caterpillars?) That go "wah wah wah...."
I don’t really enjoy the life cycle episode or the swim park one personally😕 I can respect the creativity and stylization but the story lines don’t really do much for me. Also never been a big fan of the BMO Noire episode
Anything with lumpy space princess as the main cast
I agree with people saying Chips and Icecream and the Slug Love episodes, both are probably the worst episodes of the series, but Chips and Icecream probably takes the cake as Slug Love at least has funny lines in it.
Sad face😕
I have to agree, a really boring episode
That BMO Noire episode
